Peter, the owner, worked closely with us on the design and he and his employees and contractors created a beautiful pool which we absolutely love! They also gave us the best out of 3 or 4 estimates. Would highly recommend Ted's Pools to anyone interested, not only to build a pool but also to help maintain it! Tom and Susan P.

Our experience with Ted's Pools for a pool liner replacement project--which also included replacing…read morethe steps and pool light--was thoroughly disappointing. After receiving a quote in March 2025, we were assured the project would begin before Memorial Day and take approximately two weeks. Instead, work did not start until June due to repeated delays blamed on missing liners and special measurements. Once underway, crew attendance was sporadic, averaging only a couple of hours a day, a few days a week. Throughout the project, management insisted a second main drain was required, which we later learned was completely unnecessary. Inquiries regarding project timelines were frequently ignored or met with hostility by the female owner. At one point, management threatened to withhold the workers and the liner unless we removed a negative online review. When the first liner was finally installed, it resulted in two large bottom creases and an immediate, severe leak exceeding 100 gallons per day around the newly installed main drain. Despite a third-party leak detection company--hired by Ted's Pools--confirming the leak originated from their installation, management attempted to dismiss the loss as "evaporation." A second liner was installed, but the leaking persisted. Management continued to deflect responsibility onto existing pool equipment and plumbing, despite their own leak detection specialist confirming the issue remained at the main drain they installed. Consequently, our family lost the entire summer swim season. A third liner was eventually ordered, but could not be installed until the following spring. Ted's Pools outsourced this final installation to a qualified crew in June 2026. This independent crew immediately recognized that the second main drain was entirely unnecessary, removed it, and installed the new liner properly and professionally. However, the project remains incomplete. We have still not received a refund for the new pool light we paid for, which was delayed for a year and ultimately deemed incorrect and unsafe for installation by their own electrician. Overall, working with Ted's Pools resulted in the loss of a full swim season, substandard workmanship, and exceptionally unprofessional customer service. Note for future customers: ensure you secure a legally enforceable contract with strict, enforceable timelines, and research company ownership history. While the on-site labor crew was polite, the management and administrative practices of this company are entirely unacceptable. Steer clear.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! BUYER BEWARE…read moreBEFORE I BEGIN HOW DO I GIVE LESS THAN ZERO STARS?? Where do I begin? The Owner kyle elam and the manager kevin (he wouldn't give me his last name) were rude, condescending and downright disrespectful. The reviews here don't lie and are spot on. I read all the negative reviews but still (by my own terrible judgement) decided to give Colony pools a chance. Why you ask? Because I like to support small local businesses and support them. BIG MISTAKE! When I found out through email that they couldn't keep their scheduled service appointment I called in to verify when they would be able to reschedule. Kevin was aggravated and annoyed that I call and literally said "how many "expletive" (he used the F word) questions do you have? He then hung up on me. I have never been treated so poorly as a paying customer in my life. I honestly hope this review doesn't fall on deaf ears and I am available to answer any questions anyone may have. I don't want to get into how it continued as it really makes me feel really low and upset that I even gave them the opportunity to make right on the bad reviews they have. The owner kylie elom apparently inherited this business from his daddy and obviously doesn't understand what it takes to run a successful business. As he continues this napolionistic and cavalier attitude his gift from his daddy will eventually collapse. He never had to work hard and build a successful business or his reputation so it's easy for him to throw away something he didn't earn. I can go on for pages but had to cut it short so any questions please feel free to reach out to my cell phone at 917-335-6662. Pool companies come a dime a dozen and colony definitely is not doing anything to remain competitive.

The agreement was signed on the 2nd of March 2026. I wish that I could post photos here, but In the interest of complete transparency, I invite anyone interested to inspect the work at 354 W Christine Road, Nottingham; PA . According to Clarks, this is the highstandard of work that they deliver. 1. The area around the pool is "machine graded" as per the contract. My understanding at least from the initial verbal assurances was that this would end as a 1 by 3 slope. There is leftover stone and debris which Clarke claims they are not responsible for 2. The sides of the pool are warped. Clarkes assures us that this will be fixed when the pool cover is installed but they cannot provide a specific date. 3. Piles of excavated material is left over, even though the contract specifies that excavated material should be removed. 4. The outside grill for the Heat Pump unit that Clarks installed is damaged. This might indicate that the unit was dropped or bumped during the installation. 5. Clarkes insists that all approvals regarding permits are my responsibility. I can't even get a complete list of inspections that were done or completed, just an assurance that everything was done. So after spending 120 K, I do have a plastic tub in the backyard. Not quite what I expected. The good part is the the folks were really quite pleasant up until the contract was signed.
