Recently I was searching for a place to find good deals on wine. I read about this place on yelp and decided to visit. First of all, this is an amazing place to discover and learn about wine. The store is very well organized with wine from every region in the world. Walking through the isles I couldn't help but grab so many bottles. Prices are very reasonable here and you get a discount if you spend over a certain amount. I was able to get an entire case. Customer service was top notch, one of the employees even offered to carry my box to the car which was very kind and thoughtful. It's been too long since I've visited BQE Wine & Liquors. BQE has several hard to find items and I made a trip in search of them. I found Rowan's Creek Bourbon, Duckhorn Merlot, and Josh Cellars North Coast reserve Cabernet. There were many more temptations such as Tignanello. BQE is not accessible by bus or train so driving is necessary. They will deliver to local zip codes but unfortunately I do not live nearby. Prices are still rock bottom. read more

The selection is as good as one will find in a store this size. They have everything I've asked for and if they don't, they'll be the first to recommend a place to me that carries it. Been frequenting BQE for a long time, great prices and selection. Was shocked to find out they will not exchange a corked bottle. If your a regular wine drinker opening a flawed bottle is something that will eventually happen and I've never had an experience where the business you bought it from refused to make it right. In their words: "we are not responsible for what's in the bottle" and when I asked if they could toss it for me so I didn't have to carry it back home they said "it's your trash you take it with you" Wait what? On the west coast, I fell in love with BevMo; the Costco of liquor stores. Here on the east coast, we have BQE Liquors; and there's nothing sacrificed other than the smaller footprint. The wine selection is quite generous with three aisles of well stocked racks of all varieties, and shelves in the back for those larger bottles ;) The liquor selection is also quite generous. If you don't see what you are looking for, just ask. They may have it in the back or can order it for you. They have also been very helpful and I've never had an issue coming out empty handed, which may be a sign of a problem to some. Parking gets hectic since it is on Meeker, especially around the holidays, but have no fear as there is plenty of parking under the BQE across the street. They offer discounts on multiple bottle purchases, limited only to what you can (comfortably) carry. Discounts are available for wine (10% off 3-5 bottles, 15% off 6-11 bottles, 20% off 12 or more bottles), spirits (10% off $100+, 15% off $200+), or mixed wine & spirit purchases. If you just look across the street there are like four parking lots. That's where I always park when I go there. Truly they are the best price in town. So much high quality wine to choose from. If you have any questions about which wine to purchase everyone here will do their best to steer you in the right direction. The lady at the front cashier is one of the nicest, and most helpful person I ever encountered at any business I been to. They also deliver within 1 hour depending on your zip code. I really like the Pepperwood Grove Pinot Noir. Its about $6.00, but you get a discount if you purchase more. Its right off the BQE, and it seems to have good parking. I also love that it is family owned. I love mom and pop stores. Growing up in Greenpoint, I see that most are gone which is very sad. Talk about the best of both worlds.....a selection of booze that would put Liquor Square to shame and prices that even the Sunday circular can't keep up with. An entire wall of scotch, bourbon and whiskey that one comes to pay homage to, all priced about 3-5 bucks cheaper than everywhere else in Gotham. The staff all know they spirits, so no question is a silly question to them, all ready and willing to help you quench your thirst. First off this is right off the service road of the BQE. Don't drive to fast as you can pull over right in front and usually find a spot. Just be careful traffic moves fast in the street. This is not the biggest liquor store around but, the selection is on point for the location. and size. One thing I have to say is that their prices are pretty good. They are on par with those warehouse liquor super stores. For instance I have seen a bottle of Davinci Chianti wine 2011 go for 12.99 Even 14.00 here it was for under $10. So you basically get the warehouse prices for the single bottle rather than having to buy 2 bottles to get the discount. With that savings alone this makes BQE liquors a definite stop if I am near bye. They also carry all the major liquor's that you expect to find in a Liquor store. Ok, I'd seriously like to know if anyone else has found a better shop in the area. I haven't. I live near Fort Greene, and while I'd love to patronize Gnarly Vines to keep it in the nabe, their prices and selection just don't hold a candle to BQE. Plus, we're both polish, so I feel like I'm communing with my people. Seriously thought, BQE is the best I've found. A truly awe-inspiring collection of liquor. Most everything I've wanted, and not been able to find elsewhere, is here. And the prices are good to great. Single malt scotch: very good bottles from $35-$45. Lagavulin 16 for $52?!? Get real!! This is $80+ most places in NYC. Bourbon: 750ml of Buffalo Trace for $19.99. Come with cash or a debit card and spend over $100 for the best deals. They seem to have a great selection of wine, but I'm not into wine, so I can't say for certain. But seriously, before you spend more than $100 on your next party or stocking your bar, you need to check out this place. I don't know of anything better in the 5 boroughs. I remember when I first moved to the hood about a decade ago, I wondered what this place under the BQE was about - BQE Discount Wine and Liquors? Sounds like a place I would really like... And indeed--this place is awesome! They have a wonderful selection of booze, a good selection of wine, and their staff are very cordial and friendly. They have a huge basement and their owner buys large quantities of booze (I believe by the pallet) so that they can sell their booze at a far cheaper cost than any of their competitors. I discovered this when I inquired how they could sell their Lagavulin 16 yr for only $50 (usually sells for anywhere between $60-75 elsewhere). Their selection of scotch and bourbon is superior! Their selection of other booze ranges from good to great! The only thing I would say isn't quite as sexy is maybe their selection of wine (it's still good). I remember one time, I saw this Devil's Spring 160 proof vodka and wanted to get it. The ladies behind the counter started telling me stories of how the old men in their family would drink it straight to help wash down all the meat at the end of dinner. But they also gave me a stern warning that it must be mixed and not to even consider drinking it straight as it could kill me! They actually said it could kill me if I drank it straight! Well, it is 160 proof. I bought it for a party a long, long time ago, and it is still sitting on my liquor shelf unopened... Oh, if you like to stock up and buy a bunch of booze at once, they have 10% discounts on bulk purchases too. Cheers! read more

Avoid this store if you are ordering for a gift. Wanted to purchase high priced gifts for delivery literally 2 blocks away form the store. Called, they said this could only be done online. Ordered, but no where to pay. Called them again, and they said their policy is to only accept payment at time of delivery. This is a gift....most ridiculous policy I have encountered, and order gifts all the time. I cancelled order, said this was ridiculous and they lost a $350 purchase. The guy on the phone had the arrogance to say "that won't hurt us...". Definitely not a consumer friendly place. read more

I went to BQE Liqours in December to buy a scotch that has become hard to find for my husband. Not only did I find the one I was looking for, but 2 others I forgot I even wanted! Excellent service, prices, sales, and inventory. The best part about coming here are their discounts and of course their friendliness. Whenever I'm in Williamsburg, this is my go-to liquor/wine store. Their Whiskey and vodka section never disappoints. The staff here is by far the friendliest from all the other liquor stores I've been to. The only small issue I have with this store, the lighting in here is kind of dim. I wish it was a little brighter. The store would look more appealing inside and out in my opinion. read more
