Went for breakfast and I have to say it was phenomenal. It's a very cool place and everybody there is very nice. I had an iced cold brew coffee and my husband had his favorite iced tea. I had avocado toast and gluten-free bread. And I have to say that gluten-free bread usually is subpar, but this one was the best I've had. My husband had a grilled cheese sandwich with blueberry compote and a cup of tomato soup. It was fabulous. We ordered at the counter and they brought the food out fairly quickly to our table.

I am obsessed with Bru! I travel to AVL fairly frequently and try to plan my mornings to make sure I have time to sit down and eat here. The staff is so friendly and it's a very chill environment. The food is incredible. The coffee is fabulous and the food is even better. I genuinely crave this place.

Fantastic breakfast spot with great food and plenty of options with delicious coffee as well. We loved it! I had the cottage cheese eggs which was the perfect amount of food. Husband had the huevos rancheros which was good too!

I came here with my husband a couple days ago when we were visiting Asheville. The service was great, our waitress was very helpful and attentive. And the food was also quite tasty, I ordered the baked cottage cheese eggs (10/10) and my husband got the huevos rancheros. We both really enjoyed our dishes. As for the drinks, I got the cookies & cream latte and it was very yummy. My husband just got an Americano (he's boring) but he liked it. The ambiance is comfortable and inviting, it's a cute little cafe. 10/10 would go again!

This place is fantastic! The coffee was delicious and flavored with in-house syrups that weren't too sweet! The food (breakfast sandwich) was incredible - locally sourced beef and perfectly cooked egg were so good. I would be here every day if I lived in the area! Great service as well and everyone was very kind!

This locally owned and operated business just opened in Asheville. The name Brü refers to the fact they are both a coffee bar and a beer bar, also serving food. It's a small narrow place with bar stools for sitting at several long bars, including one with a roll-up window that faces onto Biltmore Ave, so you can sit and watch the world go by. Great when it is rolled up and you get the breeze. Like many places in Asheville these days, you order at the counter and they bring your order to you. The service was friendly and efficient. The taps were not operational yet when we went during their soft opening, so we had coffee instead of beer. The dark roast was very good and very reasonably priced. They had their draft beer list posted already and it looked like a great selection of beers, mostly local, but some out of the area -- but all interesting craft beers in any case. The menu includes breakfast and lunch items. The menu is fairly small, but very innovative and the food was very good. We were there at lunch time. We had to try the pastrami tacos. Where have you ever seen that on a menu? Thick tasty chunks of pastrami with tasty toppings in a taco shell. Our only suggestion would be to maybe add a small side of chips or greens. There were 2 good-sized tacos, but they'd be even better if there was some kind of side. We also had the salmon bowl, which was next level, like you'd get at a really good Japanese restaurant. The salmon serving itself wasn't huge, but tasted so good and was so well prepared that it was worth it. The skin was cooked to perfection, with the inside left a little fleshier, almost like you'd get typically with pan-seared tuna. We ordered it because it came with cucumbers, edamame, avocado and basil leaves, all served over white rice. That sounded kind of weird, so we wanted to see if it all worked together, and did it ever! Everything played well off each other and the meal was healthy, fresh and just filling enough. One suggestion might be to maybe serve it over a combination of rice (brown or white) and quinoa. The quinoa could give it just a little more crunchiness and character. But overall, everything was really good. A cute little place that's a great new addition to the Asheville food scene. We'll be back for beers, more food and the cool vibe.

I've been here several times now and it's my new favorite breakfast spot. My favorite drink is the Hazelnut Cortado and my favorite breakfast is the Baked Cottage Cheese Eggs. SO good!! They also serve lunch, dinner and beer and it's on my list to try. Great vibes and awesome staff as well!

I stopped in here to study, and the open floor plan and huge open windows for fresh air made it the perfect spot! My favorite part: a gluten free and local smash burger. Like a REAL comfort food smash burger without the guilt. The man working the bar recommended it to me and it was amazing!! The fries were so fresh and super crispy. 10/10 recommend especially if you have dietary restrictions that make eating out hard!

    Mocha. DELICIOUS

My husband and I are foodies. Came here on a wim because we loved the vibe and SO glad we did. We got the mocha, ultimate bacon sammie, the cottage cheese eggs and the crispy salmon bowl... everything was SO GOOD. We had to thank the chef because we were so impressed. The service was great, the baristas were so sweet and helpful. We will definitely be coming back every time we're in town. Highly recommend!!

I was grateful to be able to get a seat at the bar, with a less than 10 minute wait. It is honestly worth it! The staff was warm and welcoming, even with tending to loads of customers (this is a true skill and art). The ambiance is upbeat and lively! Imagine a roadside breakfast parlor. I sat at the bar and it was good vibes! The hostess used to live in my hometown (who woulda thunk it) & I met the coolest guy from Boston, who has a golden doodle named Nugget back home. Good vibes all the way, which added to a special experience. He was flying back home after his meal. Now, onto the food (the part you all have been patiently waiting for). I ordered a hibiscus tea as my beverage (warm and refreshing). I also ordered the carrot cake hotcakes, a side of bacon, and a side of home fries. The carrot hotcakes were luscious! They came with hazelnut butter, and amazing syrup!!! These hotcakes were savory and filling! The bacon had an essence of hickory! A perfect medley between crispy and tender! The home fries were seasoned nicely and I doused them with ketchup and hot sauce! This was an iconic and memorable restaurant experience for me! It was elevated Southern cuisine, and we enjoyed it enough that we may go back before leaving the area. The restaurant has a comfortable feel -- upscale, but not stuffy. The service was excellent. The servers were personable and attentive without hovering. At one point, I accidentally dropped my napkin, and our server immediately brought me another one. Our water glasses were continually refilled, and our server checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. My partner and I liked so many things on the menu that we knew ordering soup, salad, an appetizer, and entrées would be too much. We told our server we were sharing, and for most of the courses, they divided the portions and brought them out on separate plates. That was another small touch that showed they were paying attention to detail. There wasn't anything we had that we wouldn't order again. We started with the seasonal soup, which was a tomato bisque, followed by the strawberry and feta salad. The country ham board was excellent and actually had me looking for Lusty Monk mustard the next day. For our main entrée, we shared the shrimp and grits, which was also delicious. Great food, thoughtful service, and a comfortable upscale atmosphere. This was the best meals we had in the area.

First, a logistics tip for anyone else visiting: give yourself plenty of extra time to find parking, as it takes a while to hunt down a spot down here. Also, double-check that you are making your reservation for the right location! There are a couple in the area and it can get confusing quickly. As for the food, my meal was quite good. I ordered the fried chicken with green beans and grits, and everything on my plate was delicious. However, my husband's meal was a bit of a letdown. He had the chicken and waffles--he felt his chicken was on the overcooked side, and the waffle itself had the texture of pancakes rather than being crisp. Service was also a bit slow during our visit. The most frustrating part was noticing that our food came out after a table of four that had actually been seated after we were. It was worth a try while we were in town, but given the service pacing and the hiccups with my husband's food, I don't think we'd head back on a return trip.
