We were in constant text communication with all involved the entire time. If your as anxious about a project as my wife was about this basement of ours let's just say that Korey and and brothers are simply the best.

-- Detailed and Sophisticated, Responsive, Taking Initiative, Managing Reasonable Expectation…read more We looked at quite a few bids to finish our basement across the span of almost one whole year. Korey's bid was not the cheapest we got. However, he was the only person that demonstrated a well-thought through vision for our basement, not just a view of patching up walls and putting down carpets but a sophisticated and detailed vision, which we liked and appreciated. From the first time he came over for a bid, he set our expectation to a reasonable time range. However, throughout the construction period, he would take the initiative to move up the scheduling whenever possible, even if that means he had to call to schedule and then reschedule. This has cut down a significant amount of construction time we prepared ourselves for, which makes us happy. Throughout the construction period, he is very responsive to our questions and comments. He is also very knowledgeable of different considerations we were facing, ex. how to design the ceiling of the theater room we wanted so the odd air duct could be hidden as if it was part of the design. He is very detail-oriented and itemizes preparatory things as well as billing meticulously. This helps us have a clear mind set and timeline on what we could expect from them and what we were expected as well. The same applies to billing and payment as well. We have had a great time working with Korey, people associated with SALT/him, and people who came to help us finish our basement. We would recommend him and SALT to anyone without any hesitation.

I contacted this handyman company with needing help with my sprinklers. I needed better coverage as…read morewell as some head replacements. I felt like my backyard had some leaks and I had lost hope in working on it on my own. Anyway, I reached out to them by text July 15. They responded quickly Jesse came to do the quote (July 18) and he seemed to have a good idea of what needed to be done. He was personable and gave me a big quote (including replacing 3 valves and rebuilding another valve components). He spoke in a way I could understand and marked the problem areas with flag markers. He asked me to do a 50% deposit before he left and they would get me on the schedule right away. I was scheduled for July 30th, but around 10am I got a text that they double booked the technician and I would be rescheduled. Unfortunately when the handyman Erik arrived (August 2), I had to walk through everything again that we had discussed via the quote. I felt could've been more efficient if they communicated better so that I didn't have to take the time to do a walkthrough twice. August 4th Erik came again and replaced the sprinklers and adjusted them to get proper coverage in the front yard. Then I was scheduled for August 13th because they were booked out. They contacted me (August 6th) and said they could fit me in earlier on August 8th I agreed, but they texted me to let me know the technician called out sick so it was moved back to August 13th. August 13th came and at this point we decided the rebuild of the valve components shouldn't be done and I was glad to be saving that $720. They reached back out to me to schedule another day of work for Aug 26th. Aug 14th then asked to move it to the 27th. The next day they asked if we could move it to Aug 20th August 20th: I got a text that they wouldn't be there due to calling out for sickness. I did my best to be understanding through all of this rescheduling, no one plans to be sick, but We are at 7 reschedules at this point. I let them know I was frustrated by being pressured to put down 50% and a month later the job was not completed. I did receive an apology. The next morning Aug 21st Erik showed up early at like 8:30. I had no clue they were coming. Erik worked all day and a guy also came to help as a 'try-out/job interview' both of them worked most of the day August 26th Erik came again and brought another guy whose name I didn't catch. They dug two trenches and rezoned two sprinklers. They finished up what they could. There's something going on with my water pressure that they said is something with my connection to the city water, they couldn't resolve. I was sent the invoice August 27th and it had the original quote items on it that weren't completed. I kindly asked to confirm and they got back to me September 3rd to explain and said that they were still going to charge me the same price because the trenches and re-zoning count in place of the blow out valve replacement. I obviously want them to be paid for the work they did, but to throw around the alleged savings of $720 at some point (which is a lot of money) and just put that exact amount elsewhere felt a little fishy to me. After talking with them some more, I was lead to believe I actually got quite a deal and they did more work than even noted on my invoice. I ended up just paying it in full because I wanted it to be done Would I hire them again? Hmmm that's the question. I think it would depend on the type of work I feel like we build a bit of rapport with the workers because they had been over so many times, but the frustrations throughout the process outweigh the outcome for me personally. I feel like the leaks in my backyard sprinklers are worse off than before now so I feel stuck again I'm just out a bunch of money.
