In what world is that comprehensive? No x rays were done, no impressions or bite registrations, no analysis of my jaw, none of that. And I still get billed for a comprehensive exam? I can have Joe Schmo look at my teeth and charge me for a comprehensive exam. I've never been billed for that on top of a cleaning before but apparently "this is always how it's done". My mother, sister, and I have been going to Prosthodontic Associates of New York for many years now…read more(probably just around 15 or so) and we have all received the most top-notch care from the entire team and staff. I have been singing this practice's praises for so many years, and I would recommend them a thousand times over. Dr. Abjanich, Dr. Donovan, and Dr. Goldin are absolute masters of their craft. Not only that, but they also have the most phenomenal bedside manner. Dr. Abjanich, Dr. Donovan, and Dr. Goldin are all perfectionists yet they have never suggested unnecessary procedures or tried to upsell their services. The hygienists are also fabulous. The front desk staff is so friendly, helpful, extremely responsive (I've called and they've texted me back right away), and accommodating of busy schedules (greatly appreciated with demanding work hours). The office is immaculate, beautiful, spacious, and in a great location (right near Grand Central). Dr. Donovan did my Invisalign in the year leading up to my sister's wedding (I had crowding on my bottom teeth and I wanted to change that), and I couldn't be happier with the results. I've also had my teeth whitened with the Zoom system here, which was great to do before my engagement shoot and wedding. My teeth always feel immaculate after the cleanings. I always get so many compliments on my smile, and I always tell people to give this practice a call. Most people complain about going to the dentist, seriously dread it, or even avoid going altogether. I've never been able to relate to that. Dr. Abjanich just retired recently, and I'm going to miss him so much, but the practice is in great hands with Dr. Donovan and Dr. Goldin. They're absolutely amazing, as noted above. Professional photos/videos haven't come in from my wedding yet, but I received so many compliments on my smile, so I thought I'd share them here. Just finished my followup of my LANAP Laser Treatment at Dr. Devito and must say although it was a…read moretricky process to get my insurance to approve a partial of this necessary osseus gum surgery, finally it's all over and I couldn't be happier. Jessica was awesome in helping me figure out costs and working tirelessly with my insurance. Thanks! It was done in two parts (to allow the other half of the mouth to be able to eat after each session). It was a great alternative than have to be cut open, sutured back up and having to withstand a longer healing time period.The process itself is quite painless, just a few quick pinches for numbing and after that it's pretty much a breeze. Dr. Devito has a very soft tender hand and is very accommodating to any discomfort. The process takes about an hour and the only downside is the smell of the laser zapping away all the germs and bacteria. Way better than having to go under a knife however. I appreciated asking the millions of questions and having each answered expertly and thoroughly. Recovery: It takes a few days for your mouth to stop feeling sore and having to eat only mushy foods, no straw usage, surprisingly strict no brushing or flossing of the treated area for a week, just the use of a special mouthwash that can be purchased in the office. Medication is prescribed for pain and as antibiotics. But honestly I didn't really need the pain meds so much. Results: So Its only been a bit over a week from finalizing all quadrants in my mouth but I can say that I've noticed a dramatic difference in that my gums no longer bleed anymore when brushing or flossing. I also feel that my mouth feels a lot fresher even though I have alway been an adamant brusher and mouthwasher. Flossing was what I avoided a lot due to the sensitivity of my gums and bleeding. Now with no sight of either, I actually find myself to floss every single day at least once. And my greatest compliment today and has me was that my "gums never looked better" and am so happy I got the procedure done. Now I just need to maintain and keep monitoring my gum health. But there really is no describing the feeling of accomplishment in my mouth health journey, from when I was first diagnosed months ago to today when I am happy to have invested in this procedure.
