Absolutely unbelievable, I've been going there for 20 years and now I'm being pushed to the side like road kill. they rescheduled twice and today want to do it a 3rd time. This practice has declined significantly since it was bought out by a corporation a year or two ago. Calls are never returned and many staff members are rude. I used to be able to communicate with my doctor and other staff members. Now I have to contend with a call center. These people know nothing about the Bradenton Florida facility. It has taken over a year for a simple billing issue to be addressed (still not resolved). A few weeks ago I called again to request a meeting with the office manager, Christopher Simmons. I was told that Mr. Simmons doesn't meet with patients. This was the final straw. I am looking for a new provider. I am disappointed because I have been extremely pleased with my doctor, Camille Kasten. However, I can no longer deal with the incompetence of the other staff members. read more

I have been going to Bradenton Integrative Health for many years But since they changed to Invocare it's a joke I left a message for my dr and or nurse in Thursday 10/26 no callback. Left 2 more messages on 10/27 no call back Called front desk Monday to make an appointment thinking I could get in quicker no appointments till Jan Told desk clerk I left 3 messages and needed to speak to my dr or nurse She transferred me to another voice mail and guess what NO call back It's a shame because Dr Nottman is an incredible Dr But we will be looking for another primary care doctor read more

I chose this practice because they were 'integrative' and offered massage and a specific uncommon drug I needed for off-FDA label use. Massage no longer offered. Worse part was in less than one year, Dr Brainerd left, then ARNP Carol left, then Dr Notman left. The last straw was this month when it took them 25 days to get an rx straight for my pharmacy to fill. Took me 4 phone calls and 3 portal messages to get it done. I went here for years and was told today after being 15 mins late and trying to call on a heads up with traffic that I would have to reschedule. Front desk was rude and this is just another perfect example of good healthcare gone corporate. How many patients can we see a day? How hard can we work our doctors and APPs? This has been a wonderful practice with Dr. Brainerd at the helm. I've used Carol Lewis for regular appointments as well. For the last week I've been trying to reach office for appointment. Brooke would always answer the call and was very helpful. This week, I get no "person" -- I get extensive music for 5 minutes+ or leave a message at IM. I have been going to this office for a few years. Dr. Brainard is my primary and I also get my bio identical hormones here. I originally waited 6 months for an appt. because she is supposed to be an osteopath (combining western with holistic medicine). Brainard is not a bad Dr. but the office is a hot mess and a total shit show. There record keeping is a mess, the front office Dr. and nurses don't communicate. I have literally been in appointments where they are asking me for medical information that was provided on a previous visits or from an outside source e.g. mammogram. They lose test results. The staff turnover is constant. Recently I was there for a women's wellness exam and a nurse practitioner asked me if I wanted a pap smear, seriously??...now they are owned by Innovacare so when you call you are routed to a call center. Recently I called for a prescription renewal it took 5 calls and 3 weeks before it was filled. Then I tried to go in my patient portal all links broken and don't work. Personally I am done with this practice and moving on. We all know health care in this country is a joke or what I call sick care but this is beyond ridiculous. I'm just thankful that I live a healthy lifestyle and rarely need a Dr. If I wasn't needing the hormones I would never go there. I'm confident I can find another practice in SRQ that offers this service...I'm done my advice find someone else for your healthcare needs. read more

My husband had a new patient appointment with this practice in April and had to be rescheduled for 6 weeks later due to a doctor illness. He was not given an option of a covering provider. Then he goes to his rescheduled appt and was told the doctor was 45 mins to an hour behind. He was unable to wait due to his work schedule. I have gone to Bradenton East Integrative Medicine for years. Starting out Dr. Brainard was my primary. It was fine for some years - although my spouse met her and did not get good vibes from her at all. Even encouraged me to find another primary. I stayed based on the relationship that we had established. Then out of the blue I got pushed off to a nurse practitioner without even so much as an explanation. I didn't care for the NP. She even ate part of a meal on one of our TeleMed calls. But the topper? I tried to make an appointment with her nurse. The BEIM employee that usually makes appointments stated that I had to speak directly with the RNs nurse to schedule. Which is fine. No worries. So, I left 2 messages with the nurse regarding the fact that I was out of a medication, that I needed refilled ASAP. I did not receive an acknowledgement of the calls. No callbacks. No posting to the patient portal. Nothing. Then, an appointment was scheduled without my consent, without notification. I was told that there were contacts made and appointment information was sent. To the contrary...I did not receive anything until three hours before the appointment time. I called the front desk, left my opinion of the facility. I will never go back there...AND I AM STILL WITHOUT MEDICATION. Is that legal? If I could rate them a ZERO instead of a 1, I would. read more

Terrible practice! They use to be good but now it's just awful. Blood test came back high for TSH on thyroid and nurse practitioner upped a prescription I wasn't even taking. Turnover of staff is constant and calls go unreturned. Everyone seems to be at the end of their careers and just don't care. I was scheduled for a telehealth appointment and they said it was scheduled for in office when my confirmation says telehealth. Was in with my husband and nurse practitioner rolled her eyes the whole time and said she didn't have time for his questions. His call also went unreturned after a procedure that was done in there office, after he was experiencing issues. My friend goes to same nurse practitioner and pharmacy said they tried for 8 days to get a hold of practice for prescription refill. She had to switch to another practice just to get her prescription. Don't waste your time with this practice!!!! read more

As a retired RN (40+ years) who started in health care as a CNA at age 16 and with multiple family members in health care professions, I believe I have the education, background and experience to offer my sincere appreciation for the care I receive as a patient at Bradenton East Integrative Medicine. When necessary, referrals to specialists are prompt, and the specialists are top-notch. It is vital to the patient experience that concerns are heard and treated with compassion and respect; the team at Bradenton East exceed my expectations at every visit (and I'm a very selective health care recipient!). read more

They really listen to what your saying and help you get the results that your looking for. When you call, you actually speak to a person on the first ring unlike other doctors offices. I had a friend tell me to try this practice and I will tell you I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The front staff checking in/out was very snotty. No personality with any of the women sitting there. Met with the Dr. Karen B for 15 min to review hormone levels and that was the worst 15 min I have had with a Doctor. I do not recommend Bradenton East Integrative. I had very high cholesterol levels and no one called to let me know. I didn't find out until 2 years later when I saw my blood work from Quest. Because I wasn't informed, I did nothing and it rose considerably in the following 2 years. I would not trust something as important as your health to Bradenton East Integrative. I saw Dr. Notman the first time and Deb Coupland the second time. The only way to communicate with them is through a portal. Dr Brainard is the best doc I've ever had. She explains in my terms, she gives you options, her bedside manor is impeccable. I gave 5 stars for her alone, the staff needs improved upon. Many treat you as another on an assembly line. If they were all as compassionate as she, more would rate 5 stars. Overall it's good, but I'd give her staff 3 stars but don't let this stop you from the best doctor I've known and I'm in my 50's! read more

They used to be a good practice before they moved to the new building.Other than Robin James, I don't think anyone really has you best interests in mind. 99% of the time I go I have to wait more than 30 minutes in the exam room , that's on top of the 15 minutes in the waiting room. On my last visit the Dr. (someone not worth remembering) saw me for 5 minutes did not prescribe any meds for inflammation and told me after I asked for a blood pressure refill that "I was there for a sick visit and would have to make another appointment for a prescription refill, meanwhile there is a sign on the exam room wall that says if you need a prescription refill inform us at the beginning of the visit? As I stated earlier, if you must go to BEIM see Robin James, she is the best one there. read more

I was extremely disappointed. Referred by a friend, I had high hopes of finding a good doctor who was knowledgeable, thorough and professional. I didn't find anything of the sort here. The doctor wasn't prepared for my visit, which had been scheduled for over a month. She looked over the nurses comments after she came in the room. The nurse apparently read my paperwork and made comments for the doctor to read. The doctor never saw my paperwork/medical history firsthand. The nurse had taken my blood pressure like it was simply a formality, and proceeded to tell me it was normal. I know for a fact that it was extremely high. That's why I was there! When I mentioned to the doctor that I felt the BP results were inaccurate, she completely disregarded me and blew it off saying, Oh everyone gets a little nervous when they come into a doctors office! It's no big deal! I felt my BP go up even more, having asked that she take it again, only for her to ignore my request. I raised my voice and said, My blood pressure has been (very high) for some time now! The doctor looked at me and said, You don't have to yell at me. We're getting off on the wrong foot here. (YOU THINK?! Thank you, Dr. Obvious!) I said, No problem. We won't be doing anything together, and I left. If you want a spa type doctor who seems more interested in selling their treatments and products, then this is the place for you! If you want a sincere, professional and thorough medical exam, better keep looking. read more

A little background: I am a medical student, and I am fastidious and picky when it comes generally everything, and most certainly when it comes to the healthcare I receive. I don't hesitate to recommend this office to anyone. In fact, I had to ask them for a little stack of business cards because I found myself recommending their office to people so frequently. I have been seen by several of the professionals at BEIM: Dr. Leiber, Dr. Brainard, Robin, and Maureen, to name a few. I have had outstanding experiences with all of them. I've been seeing Dr. Notman for years. She is by far the best of any of my doctors. She explains things in layman's terms and does not pull out her prescription pad for every little problem you have like a lot of doctors do these days. When she does write a prescription, she starts with the lowest dosage so you are not over-medicated. She's always bright and cheerful with a good sense of humor which makes me look forward to my appointments. read more

Without her..I seriously doubt that my shoulder would feel anywhere near as good as it does now. That being said...I think the office staff of this place are extremely rude. My first initial visit with Dr Karen B. I'm 61. It was the first time in my life I ever felt so confident and connected to Dr B. I felt I could trust her and she could help me with my medical issues. Her gentle demeanor helped me relax as I tend to get nervous with new doctors. The best communication I've ever had. Good eye contact. OMG Why aren't there more drs out there like her. I felt taken care of. I would travel 30 miles or more to this facility to see dr Karen. That's how impressed I was. I've spent over a year looking for a doctor with great dissatisfaction and in other states it took me 3 times to find one that was satisfactory. Dr Karen's method I love already. You know when it's a good fit and when it's not. I highly recommend her and going to Bradenton East Integrative Medicine. I'm so very happy the search is over and I've finally found exactly the type of facility and methods of healing I'm looking for. read more

My whole family (my husband, daughter and I) were patients of Dr. Brainard, and thought we had found a good doctor. Unfortunately, as time progressed, it became clear that all she is interested in is the money. She continually suggested that I try her own brand of stocked herbs and supplements, which never worked for me, and which were overpriced. The last straw for us, was when she recommended Alpha Genomix testing to see what medicines I should be taking, because I was having issues with anxiety. I specifically asked her if the testing was covered by insurance. My husband was in the room, and remembers this as well. Dr. Brainard left the room to check to see, and came back and said yes it was. Months later, we started receiving bills from Alpha Genomix, for $500. I brought documentation from both Alpha Genomix and Blue Cross showing that the testing was not covered. I gave this paperwork to Dr. Brainard's nurse, Wendy. Dr. Brainard's nurse Wendy also said that we were not the only ones that this had happened to. When asked about this, Dr. Brainard said that $500 was the copay, which it clearly was not. When I showed her the paperwork, she walked away, and told Wendy to look into it. Wendy said it would take a few days to get back to me. After a week of hearing nothing, I called Wendy back, and Wendy backtracked to say that it is not their policy to make payments back. So there you have it, a doctor and office who do not stand behind what they say. If possible, I am going to file with the Better Business Bureau. I would steer clear of this practice, they are not honorable. In a final bit or irony, the anxiety that I went to Dr. Brainard to treat, is much worse now due to all of the worrying about this bill. read more

Unfortunately, my experience at Bradenton East Integrative was not what I was hoping for at all. From the start of even making an appointment, the person on the phone was short and a bit rude. When I came into the office to sign in, I was either not greeted, or given a "hello" with no eye contact. So my thought even before I saw the doctor was "what is wrong with everyone's attitude?" Everyone seemed like they were less than impressed with their jobs. The staff member who then saw me before the doctor did was very cold and aloof. The wait time to see the doctor was approximately 35 minutes and a maximum of 1 hour and 20 minutes on one occasion. Dr Brainard was my primary care, and although she spent a good amount of time with me, she too seemed aloof many times. On one particular visit she seemed to not express the compassion that every patient deserves when going through a medical crisis. Other medical professionals that I would go to during this time would have their receptionists and staff speak unfavorably about Bradenton East Integrative, commenting that they were being difficult. This was embarrassing for me to have to hear, and apologize for. I would not recommend Bradenton East Integrative to any one. I cannot speak on every staff member there, as I only encountered some of them. I am not meaning to cut down anyone's character, but only to provide a clear description of my experience at this office. Do not go to this practice. I searched for a family practice and found Bradenton East in the physicians directory. The office staff are extremely rude. Just call their office and see how they handle your call. They immediately put you on hold as a matter of habit and you can be on hold for a long time. Basically making an appointment is difficult especially a first appointment which can be as far out as 4 months to see Dr Brainard. Second problem with appointments it is impossible to keep seeing the same doctor, we get a different service provider every time. Attitude, due diligence and cohesion: Number one, the level of arrogance at the front desk is unparalleled. The ladies are dismissive at best and outright scornful as they speak to you in raised voices to try and embarrass you so everyone can hear. They don't even bother to pull your insurance correctly. I had to get my BCBS broker on speaker on my cellphone before the front desk checkout nurse would agree that I didn't even have copayments for my first three visits. It didn't seem to matter to her that on the printout of my insurance benefits (that she printed out for me) it said the first three visits were a zero copay. She just kept saying "you have a $5000 deductible" to which my broker replied "which is for hospital stays and MRI's." Secondly, Dr Nortman failed to give me a much needed referral last August 2016 causing my condition to worsen. I had to change insurance to a PPO before seeing the specialist. I had specifically made an appointment to get that referral and when I confronted Dr Nortman about why I didn't get it she claimed that she had indeed given me one however whenever I had called the front office to get it they said there was no referral in my file, so they had me going round in circles with that one. Third: Thankfully this year 2017 I finally got a PPO and went to see a specialist. However when I requested Bradenton East to send my records to my new doctor to review they did not and so at my appointment my labs were not available creating a further delay in my treatment. After 4 weeks of numerous requests by both the specialist and myself asking for my records I personally went to pick up and hand deliver them to my new doctor. That's what it took. Finally today, when I took my daughter in for a check up, the level of rudeness escalated. It was overt. From the moment the appointment began with the the nurse refusing to measure my daughters height even after I requested her to (she's a growing kid why would a nurse record the weight but not the height?) The second thing to raise my eyebrows was Dr Nortman ordering a flu test on my daughter before even entering the exam room to examine her; before even setting eyes on her. Dr Nortman sent the nurse to perform extremely invasive throat and nose swabs that I feel certain no one performs on kids. Who puts 3-4 inches of a q-tip into a child's nostril? I even asked her "how much of it needs to go in?" The nurse insisted the ball of the q-tip PLUS 3 inches of the stick needed to be inserted. I had the feeling the nurse was determined to make the experience as awful as possible, never mind the innocence of the child. Fortunately my daughter was having none of it so the nurse had to give up. I mean really folks, if this is the method of testing for the flu in children then it is cruel and unusual. I find it hard to believe. The nurse then proceeded to swab my daughters throat and I have had this done, it doesn't take but 3 or 4 strokes but this nurse insisted on swabbing multiple times without satisfaction until my daughter gagged. I began to wonder if this was some kind of payback from my holding them accountable a week earlier on the poor job they did regarding how my last appointment was handled. Had Dr Nortman examined my daughter FIRST perhaps these invasive swabs would be unnecessary - but I began to think that maybe they just want to bill insurance for unnecessary testing. Whatever happened to a doctor "doing no harm?" The nurse even had the audacity to say to me, "a pediatrician would have alternative methods for performing flu swabs on kids" - question: then why do they advertise themselves as a "family practice?" Do they not know that they have an advert in the physicians magazine available at every grocery store in Bradenton? I wish I had an inkling of how bad their customer service and bedside manners were before going there. Go to Bradenton East Intergrative Medicine at your own risk. These people are out to make money and bill you for unnecessary tests and appointments. I didn't even go into how I had to pay for an appointment to go over my labs, labs that resulted in no medication improvement or change for my condition. They just keep you coming back for the same issue all the while billing you. I have had 5 visits at the office now, trying to be patient every time hoping I would get some answers. All I got was hour plus long waits, huge bill every time because I had to buy their supplements and today topped it off. I sat in the waiting room for 1 hour and 15 minutes. My appointment was to get results for lab work done that cost me $500 out of my pocket. I finally get called back and the nurse tell me I may have a little wait because there are two people still ahead of me. OMG I have already waited 1 hr and 15 minutes. I told her this and said I couldn't wait anymore. They offered me a "VIP" appointment tomorrow (apparently today's were "POS" ). I said I wanted my records and test results, they refused to give them to me. I WILL be following up tomorrow and it won't be good for them. I am so mad at how I tried to trust them and the $1000+ they have got from me in just a few visits. What a joke of a medical practice. read more

I had looked up many places around Ellenton, FL before deciding on this place for my fiancé. The wait was around three months compared to six at others, so I thought this would be a great choice. Plus reviews where great on a lot of the places I looked online. HUGE mistake! Dr. Kinga Porter will not call for prescription refill of hormones after a new lab test was completed and sent to their office. Three phone calls, since October, with NO call back for a prescription refill for HRT before I finally drove my fiance back to the practice (phone calls aren't returned) and after she has been extremely depressed and to the point where doesnt want to live, at all. (Apparently, this Dr. Doesnt know the importance of having hormones, when the patient produces very low levels of her own.) My fiance was told by the receptionist that the nurse was an hour behind and so she was putting this request in RED to have the prescription called in to the pharmacy. She was told they would have it called in on Friday before Christmas week. Nothing as of the Wednesday before Christmas (four business days after being told this was being taken care of). She called her last Dr. out of state,told her the issue , and it was called in right away. Unbelievable. So if you are new to town like we where, appreciate dealing with normal human beings, and expect competency when dealing with a doctor... I would strongly urge you to look into another place. I NEVER leave reviews, but if I can save just one person from the torturous dealings with this unprofessional practice I will feel better. I'm a business owner, so I understand this could be one bad Dr. At this office. With that being said, I strongly feel that this is a direct reflection of the working dynamics you can expect, based on people receiving the calls, not to mention dealing directly with the receptionist.
