I don't even know where to begin. After moving back to Olathe I was beyond stressed trying to find the perfect vet, but with a suggestion from a friend I found the wonderful people at Bradford Pet hospital. Took my Dog Basil to get a few shots for doggie day care. And from them moment I walked in you could feel the kindness. They were so sweet and treating my dog like one of their own. The vet got down and sat on the floor to examine her. I left that appointment so happy that we found this vet. The next day I brought my cat Carl in because he has had a skin issue on his stomach ( fur was gone, red and was in pain) The last six months at my previous vet they just had me spraying stuff on it. Within a few days of treatment at Bradford his hair started growing back. Such relief my poor cat was in so much pain and within 48 hours he was back to normal. Today I took Basil back to get a teeth cleaning. The vet explained every issue my sweet dog had going on with her teeth. And left feeling comfortable and we have a game plan for the future. My family has been taking dogs to Bradford for over 2 decades. Dr Barns, the head vet here, is everything you want in a health care professional. This man truly cares about your animal's health, and the ways that he goes out of his way to make sure and provide excellent care are kind of unprecedented. Our older dog Oscar... a Cocker dachshund that rode about 5 inches off the ground, was 11 or 12 years old, and needed a urinary tract surgery or we were going to have to put him down. I was young enough when it happened that I don't know what the cost was, but bottom line, Dr. Barns performed it at a considerable discount, because he had been taking care of Oscar for a good 10 years, and he knew our family and how much we loved that goofy, klutzy, and blindly loyal old dog. On top of that, Dr. Barns came into Bradford several times after hours and on a couple of his days off, to check on Oscar and make sure his replacement pee tube installation was being accepted by the body decently, and there was no auto-immune response trying to kick it out. Oscar ended up living to 18 years old before we put him down. That dog couldn't see or hear anything by the end, but he lived a darn good life up to the day we decided it was time to let him pass on. We had his euthanasia and cremation done at Bradford as well, and Dr Barns gave Oscar the dignity and respect that he deserved. I would recommend Bradford to anyone with an animal. I CANNOT say enough amazing things about Dr. Baldridge and the staff at Bradford Pet Hospital. One of our dogs had several small masses that our previous vet refused to even biopsy but told us it was cancerous. Needless to say, we were scared and uncomfortable and needed a second opinion. Dr. Baldridge got us in within one day. He was so kind and reassuring and did biopsies for us without hesitation. Our dog ended up needing to have the masses removed, all benign! One was close to her eye which if not done properly could've left her with a droopy eye. Dr. Baldridge did a better job than we could've imagined. He is thorough, patient and explains things in a way that is understandable and makes you feel like he wants the best for you and your pet, no matter what it takes. His compassion for animals is unmatched. We will never take our animals anywhere else. Our girl is as good as new, and we could not be more grateful! read more

We followed Dr Baldridge to Bradford Pet Hospital and have nothing but praise for our new veterinary clinic! We have experienced their care through general annual exams, as well as losing a dog to cancer recently. Dr. Baldridge is kind, knowledgeable, gentle with dog and humans, and has a clarity of thought and explanation that is rare. He and the staff at Bradford have been patient and responsive throughout our dog's diagnosis, extra but tough months of life and ultimately, during her euthanasia. Been a customer for over ten years but recently left with my 3 dogs. My 12 y/o Cavalier King Charles recently went on Furosemide and Vetmedin which for CKC is not uncommon. The problem with Bradford is that Dr. Jed Barnes is also the owner. I found an online source Valley Vet Supply that had a significant discount but Dr. Barnes refused to match it or write the RX even though he would not see my dog for another 6-9 months. He kept talking about his overhead but frankly I'm more concerned about my overhead. After recently spending over $700 with him for kennel, shots and refill RX you would think he understand people want to save money. If I find a good source that contacts DVM for a prescription to be written, just maybe they and the DVM's that write prescriptions with them, are not the unscrupulous beings Dr. Barnes uses as an argument not to match their price. He wants to write the RX and fill it at his office even if he will not see your dog in the intermediate to longer term. He wants the money - I mean business! To be fair, he will match Walmart, Walgreens and a large online Vet medicine dealer if you ask in order to avoid you not filling with him, but if you do the extra homework to save money don't expect him to care. read more

Dr. Barnes and Dr. Black along with the all members are absolutely the best. I started with four basset hounds and now down to one and every single one of my hounds were cared for. They know how I like my dogs' nails clipped and that is very important to me along with reminding me of our scheduled appointments as I have a busy schedule. I took my 4-month old kittens to Dr Barnes in January for treatment of diarrhea. The dr was apparently balancing multiple appts at one time, as we sat for half an hour before he was able to see us. He did fecal tests and diagnosed the kittens with ear mites. Over the course of almost two hours, the dr was in and out of the exam room several times, the door shutting hard each time. The male kitten began getting more and more agitated and started hissing and growling at his sister. When the dr came in the exam room to get the male for treatment, he grabbed him very abruptly. After he left the room, I heard a lot of commotion outside the door. Luis, the vet tech, came in and suggested I have two cat carriers to take the cats back home or I would have a cat fight. When Dr Barnes brought the male back, he roughly shoved him in the carrier and said the cat bit his thumb and that he had dropped the cat and had to lasso him! After treating the female kitten, he attempted to put her in the same carrier! I asked for a box or towel to take the female home in and the dr said he had nothing! He hand carried the female out to my car, plopped her in the passenger seat and shut the door. She could've leaped out of his arms and ran away! I have never had such a terrible experience at a vet. I would not recommend Dr Barnes for treatment of any pet! read more

I have been taking my dogs to Bradford for years.. I always thought they were nice and still do for the most part. The front staff has always been nice and DR Barnes has been good and nice also. Today I went in to see the vet who was a DR Black. I had taken my dog in there about a week ago she was having bowel problems and throwing up.. Likek most people their pets mean so much to them.. I saw DR Black and she ran some test and found nothing to explain my dogs problem of throwing up etc. So that bill was 250.00. She said she was dehydrated and she need an all day long iv treatment the next day so I did that and that bill was almost 300.00. She gave me a prescription because she said there was a small tear somewhere in her stomach area and this would help but it was only a 5 day supply and she said if my dog got better but If I needed more pills because she was not completely better to come back. I did that today on a Saturday I just came in and there was no cars in the parking lot and DR Black was just behind the door so I asked the front desk lady If I could talk to the Dr for just a moment and to get a refill like she told me to do but she said no that I had to bring Layla in for another checkup and she did not even have the courtesy to even come out for just a moment to talk to me. I had just spent over 600.00 on test the week before on Layla and 250.00 on my other dog a few weeks before that not counting all the time I have been going there for shots and boarding and that DR Black did not even show any respect for me at all. She pretends to care but in my opinion she just wants the money. After the second day a week or so ago when she got the IV stuff DR Black said I should bring her the next day for another round of IV treatment without even knowing if Layla was better or not and that would of been another 300.00 which I did not do. Sorry I would be very careful about going there and seeing DR Black I would wait for DR Barnes or find another vet. read more

This place sucks, my baby kitten was having an allergic reaction to some flea medicine and they refused to help him because I couldn't give them $400 right then and there, couldn't bill me or anything. They wouldn't compromise with me and help my kitten. The person there looked me right in my eyes and said that she couldn't do anything to save my kitten, I asked if I could take him somewhere else, and she said "no the kitten will die". Me, caring so much about my kitten, I could not just sit around and do nothing... so I went to another hospital, they looked at my kitten for free because I was in a time of need. And the vet gave me good advice, "keep him in a dark room" "don't move him" and "he should be fine in the morning". The Bradford pet hospital, told me my kitten was going to die and that no one could help and wouldn't treat him or give me any advice to go elsewhere. It's pathetic, they are suppose to save animals, and help animals. All they care about is money they don't even care about any animals that come in there. I recommend never going there, there prices are outrageous and they are unhelpful. My kitten today is around 7-8 months, happy as can be and the vet says he doesn't remember anything that happened that day and he's healthy and happy(: read more
