But, they are great choices of people, many of whom operate in Pittsfield or adjacent towns. I am a huge fan of Square Roots Farm, Hilltop Orchards and Cricket Creek Farms. Hardly a week goes by that I do not get something from each of them. Many others are also great. Here is a tip -- if you have the time -- go to both this market and the one in Lanesboro at the Berkshire Mall. They are at the same time and are only a few miles apart. The difference is that most of the Lanesboro vendors get their produce from the Pioneer Valley (Springfield / Northhampton / Amherst region). Their growing season is a little different. So, sometimes you will find fresh strawberries in one market and fresh blueberries in the other.

Stopped in yesterday and got a raspberry pie and a "walnut" brownie for myself. I ate the brownie on the drive home. It was dry, hard and contained pecans, not walnuts. Not a big deal for me since I like both walnuts and pecans. But still ... The pie might be the second worst raspberry pie I've purchased (second only to one that never gelled). First, it's salty. EW! It should be sweet and tangy. Heck, my husband wouldn't mind tart. But salty? No. Second, I paid $22 for a pie with what looks and tastes like canned raspberries. The filling if very syrupy, gooey. Either that or they misused ClearJel rather than tapioca or corn starch for thickening. It's so thick, it coats the back of your throat, like you've eaten corn syrup poured over smashed raspberries. It doesn't taste like the appropriate amount of sugar was added to the filling either. It does not taste fresh at all. It tastes like one I could have picked up at the grocery store. As a matter of fact, I think Hannaford's has mini pies that are far better.

They're cheeses are all a must alongside their breakfast sausages and Italian sausage. Full of great flavor and incredibly lean with all the great taste. The rest of the store is stocked with pasta, sauces, breads, local goods, chocolate, ice cream and granola. There were cheese vendors, a bread vendor, live music, fruit & vegetable vendors, flower vendors, a mushroom vendor, and craft vendors as well. Great place to grab something freshly made to eat and sit and enjoy the warm, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere. We'll definitely visit again the next time we're in the area.

Once I got a truck, I found myself coming here several times a week to purchase mulch, driveway mix, gravel, compost, topsoil. They also sell chainsaws, weedwackers, and leaf blowers (they are official Stihl, Husqvarna, and Echo dealers). The mulch, compost, and top soil I picked up from them was great quality! The best I have seen from anywhere! Even better, their prices are great and they deliver! The customer service is great! I've worked the most with, Alex and Jen, if I arrive at 7:01am or 4:55pm they are always fast, pleasant, courteous, and professional. The staff has been super knowledgeable about their products. When I went in to look at a new chainsaw Alex asked me a bunch of questions to better understand my needs before making recommendations. (The prices were very competitive to what I've seen at big box stores.) I had them repair my weedwacker, they did the work quickly (called me to let me know it was ready) and it works better than ever. FYI, it seems like they repair pretty much everything, sharpen chainsaw blades, and work on lawn mowers and tractors.

At the entrance, there were a few rules posted to keep things safe: wear masks, hand sanitizer between stations, maintain 6 ft distance. There were plenty of hand sanitizers available throughout for patrons, and even a couple of hand washing stations set up. We were asked to give our name and number upon entering for contact tracing, and then passed through a second tent that allowed us to use our credit card to buy tokens for use at the market. Traffic flow was set up so that people were generally moving in one direction only, and people did a good job of distancing. Was a nice spot to get some sunshine and help support local business. Glad we came!
