I had a 11 year old Boxer named Piper Lola and brought her to this hospital to be treated. In my honest opinion I felt the staff and doctor were all very professional and respectful. I had to euthanize my girl and they walked us through every step while allowing us time to process them before moving on it. The entire staff that we engaged with were compassionate empathetic patient and gentle. It was a hard blow to lose my girl but I knew I was doing the right thing. She was surrounded by the family she loved most. The actual process was seamless. The immediate grief we all felt when her little heart stopped will forever be imprinted on my heart. The staff allowed us to grieve w/o rushing us. The procedure cost itself was based off her weight (89 lbs) so it was $100. Her hooman dad, her aunt Lisa, and myself (her #1 hooman/momma) all agree wholeheartedly that this staff met us at our level of grieving while feeling the weight of it and wholesomely embraced us. MY DOG WAS KILLED! DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE! My family's 10-year-old dog was taken to Brady's Run. She was an otherwise healthy and active dog, but had just been diagnosed with early stages of Congestive Heart Failure at her visit. She was given a life expectancy of a year or more and was sent home with oral Lasix. However, before she left the veterinary hospital she also received an injection of Lasix. Within 90 minutes she was gasping for air, turned blue, and died. (Lasix is a common diuretic and in extremely rare cases where it leads to death, the death is caused by dehydration and does not resemble anaphylaxis). When Dr. Kendrew, owner of Brady's Run Veterinary Hospital, was questioned he came up with a series of, in my opinion, unconvincing lies. Contrary to the life expectancy he had just given her, he blamed her death on her advanced medical condition. Untruths and negligence appear to run rampant at the hospital. I strongly believe his vet tech administered the incorrect medication, resulting in the swift and traumatic death of my dog. I caution all who read this not to take their pets to Brady's Run. I have been with Brady's Run for over 11 years and through this time watched services decline tremendously. We have 4 pets. The times we have needed services our main issue is mostly getting a timely appointment, but I would never leave a derogatory comment if it was just about appointments. However, my most recent experience at Brady's Run is absolutely unacceptable! I took my 6 yr old cat to them with lethargic behavior and urination outside of the litter box. I was told that it was probably a behavioral problem or a uti. They did no blood work, or a urinalysis. They gave a one dose antibiotic and sent us home. Several days later my cat stopped drinking, eating and urinating. I called back and was told to take him to an ER because it sounded like he had a blockage. They would not even look at him. I was told that they didn't have any openings. I took him to an ER, he was completely obstructed and after an exuberant amount of money my cat is home resting. (I was told by the ER that this possibly could have been prevented if they would have done blood work.) Today the ER we took him to faxed another script to Brady's Run for us to pick up. They told me to take the cat with me to pick up the script and ask them to feel his belly to make sure he was not reobstructing. (The ER said it would take less than a minute, they wouldn't even have to take him out of the carrier) I called ahead and the receptionist said it was not a courtesy they are willing to offer. I also was refused when I asked to speak to a doctor. I was told he was too busy. Had it not been for the lack of care at the first appointment when I brought him there, I most likely wouldn't have been in this situation right now. PLEASE, please make a better decision than I did. Don't wait for a life or death situation with your pet, to find out that your pet is not Brady's Runs' first priority. read more

we had to have our dog cremated. We took him on a Monday and was told he would be back the following week. Only to find out my dog sat at the vet for an entire week!!!! "The guy already left" he only comes once a week, nobody bothered to tell us that!! Now I have to wait another week!!!!! I called 2 different times asking for the status of my dog, nobody told me what was going on and didn't even ask for my name! I will never use their services ever again! read more

I do not trust some of the staff members there. The one I felt was very sneaky and she came into the room while I was with another vet tech and said here my dog needs this shot. and the other vet tech that was in the room with me, looked a little startled and stunned that she came in the room with a shot and said here the vet said to give him this shot and I asked what the shot was and she said it was something to help coat his stomach because he was having stomach issues so they gave my dog the shot and ever since they gave him a shot he started having liver problems, and he started losing weight like crazy! I want to know why the vet didn't come in himself and say yeah we're going to give him this shot or examine my dog first before just giving it to him. I just think it was very sketchy how the whole thing went down. Even the other vet tech didn't know what was going on When she barged into the room and insisted that my dog had to have this shot. Then our next appointment when I asked about the shot, the veterinarian was like what shot and then he had to look at my file and was like oh umm that was just to help his stomach. He was even surprised that my dog was given a shot He acted like he didn't know anything about it. I am very upset about the whole thing and I keep thinking about it. I did like the vet the first time I went he was fun & knowledgeable. But now that I've made them my regular vet you can not get them on the phone. I've had several experiences where it just rings for 10-15 min & then they hang up. I work at a vets office & calling for records is the same problem. I once was calling so long I went in person & no one was at the desk even though people in the back saw me no one offered to help. My pug got an eye ulcer & couldn't open his eye. I had to take him to Banfield for a walk in because I could not get Brady's run on phone. After my appointment there I called Brady's run to schedule a follow up (they thought his eye might not heal properly) & I was told the next appointment was 3 months. I told them this was an emergency and they said if that was the case just take him back to Banfield so I guess they don't even care about getting your money let alone your pets. read more

I have to agree with the poor reviews. I have taken my Yorkie to Brady's Run the entire 16 years of his life and now that he is old and I am worried because he has lost the use of his hind legs. I call every day to get an appointment sooner than Jack's scheduled month away appointment. I pretty much BEG , every day, for them to see him and they say they are booked. I will say being a returning resident to this area this is not a place I would recommended when I called I asked a question I have a long hair cat and I wanted to know if they can clean up around his tail base I was immediately cut off and was told we are not groomers if your cat is constipated then you need a appointment I said no he's not he's not having any issues I am a tech myself I just forgot my clippers it's not a beauty job I just need his butt shave up a little she got frustrated and said we don't do that and told me to call rainbow. My thing is if you want people to come to your hospital one don't cut them off two don't refer them to a different hospital and own it. I've taken Thor, my fury pit/lab mix, to Brady's run twice now and have had great experiences both times. Thor tends to be a little rambunctious when around other dogs, and the staff is always very sweet and understanding. I'm never made to feel like I have the big whiney fog who you can't miss. Dr. Kendrew is so informative and very kind. He always makes sure to explain everything he's doing and why and educates you on everything not just tells you. The prices are great. Much more reasonable than other veterinarian hospitals I have been to and there is a park right down the road that comes in very handy for taking Thor to before or after his appointment. I have no problem highly recommending this clinic. Oh and your first vaccine is free for new customers! read more

My 20 year old cat was in pretty bad shape when I brought her in... very weak, lethargic, no appetite. Dr. Kendrew explained everything and discussed options for treatment of the UTI ... and he never pushed for any unnecessary tests or procedures, The antibiotic injection he administered worked wonders. Just one day after the injection, her whole demeanor changed, and she started eating again, Now (4 days later) she's almost back to her old self (going INSIDE the litter box again instead of beside it:) .... AND they don't gouge people on the cost as some veterinary clinics do. This place is the BEST!! read more

This place is horrendous. We took our cat there to be cremated (they send them to a crematorium) and they lost our cat. Caroline, a vet tech, said it was her fault. How do you make this mistake? We took our cat Bellatrix to be cremated on the 17th of February. We had an appointment scheduled for our cat Willow on March 5th and intended to pick the ashes up then. After waiting with Willow in the waiting room for over 45 minutes (which we were already upset about), we finally found out about the mistake. We quickly left after they offered to credit our next visit in lieu of her ashes. Don't take your pets here. I've told all of my family and friends about how awful they are and they won't be returning either. read more

Terrible place to take you're pet. I took my 11 year old pitt bull here 2 times in a week over a stomach issue he was having. He was urinating himself at night in his sleep and his stool was way too dark, which hinted there was blood in his stool. Each time we took him, all they said was that he's heathy and that there's nothing to worry about. Never requested to do an X-ray or sonogram to see what was going on in his stomach. I guess the distinction is his abdomen didn't give it away either. Two days after his second visit to then, my dog collapsed when I let him out of his kennel when I got home from work. So we took him to an emergency vet once bradys run declined to see him. Turned out he had a malignant tumor the size of a baseball growing on his spleen that ruptured. After the emergency vet did an emergence surgery and only have him a 20% chance of living, we think he is in stable condition. Bradys run had several chances to look at him and diagnose what was wrong with him. I understand not every vet is perfect, but after having bloody stool and not being able to hold his bladder at night, all they would of had to do was give him an X-ray and they would of caught it. I highly suggest you not take you're pet here. They can give you meds if your pet is under the weather, but are unable to do anything else. Sorry I had to write this review, but I don't want other people making the same mistake I did. read more

My wife dropped our cat off to have her de-clawed. Something that should have been quick turned into almost a 45 minute wait. Apparently the doctor was running behind, which I'm unsure why this should matter to simply drop a cat off. This in turn made my wife late for work. The procedure was completed and I stopped in the next day on my way home from work to pick our cat up, which again took over 30 minutes of waiting for about one minute of review of the paperwork. I don't understand why I had to wait so long and why a couple that arrived after I did to pick up their dog was taken care of before me, but it happened this way. I believe that it is our fault that we did not receive the "special" litter since I did not know it should have been given to my wife, but wasn't, and I should have asked for it, but this should have been notated in our cat's file so it would not have been missed. I feel that if the woman at the front desk that I paid shortly after I arrived had explained to me that there was a legitimate reason as to why I would be waiting for a period of time, I might not have been so disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I believe they took good care of our cat, she seems to be doing very well after the procedure, but the customer service here is awful and I believe I will be looking for a different vet. read more

I began taking my 7 year old Labrador Retriever to Dr. David Steinbach at Brady's Run, after she tore her ACL. Dr. Steinbach diagnosed her condition and gave us the recommendation of surgery. He was very straight forward and clear about what we should expect. He took the time to really evaluate her condition and outcome. After she tore the 2nd ACL, we again took her back to Dr. Steinbach. FInancially, the surgeries were expensive, but the quality of Dr. Steinbach's care and expertise were worth it. I was advised by a different vet that she needed the more expensive surgery. I have since permanently switched vets for her and my other dog. I feel that the staff and vets at Brady's Run do not try to "sell" me. Highly recommend!! read more

I can't say enough good things about Brady's Run Veterinary hospital. They have been so kind and compassionate not only to our pets but also to me and my family. We have had some serious pet issues and they have made every effort to help us. The costs are very reasonable. They are obviously doing this because they genuinely care. Dr Forman is the Guardian angel of my pets and could give a lesson on compassion to Pgh veterinary hospital. I wish I could do more for them than to just say thank you but I do thank all of you at Brady's Run from the bottom of my heart. read more

There were 2 vets short the day i went and only 1 vet working. She wasnt very friendly, was rushed. Long wait. My diabetic cat takes Insulin and she only gave me enough to last 2 months (the vet in beaver gives me enough for a year). She wanted me to bring him back to weigh him again on weight loss plan and OF COURSE CHARGE ME FOR ANOTHER OFFICE VISIT to get more refills of insulin. I can weigh the darn cat myself. I am going back to the Beaver Valley Vet. They are better, cost an extra $10-15 bucks but worth it. read more

I have been here with both dogs in the past. No real issues until this past week. My dog was really ill and was not eating and barely drinking. Tried to get in and they refused to see us. Even after explaining how ill he truly was they couldn't find the time to look at him. Turns out he has pancreatitis, which we found out when we took him to the emergency vet. If not for them who knows what might have happened. There is no loyalty at this vet clinic. Avoid and find one who cares. read more

I would not for a moment consider taking our pets anywhere else. I debated writing this review, but 1.5 years after the death of our cat, I feel it's necessary. Our healthy 8 year old cat received routine vaccines at the office, and a few weeks later she developed a large lump on her shoulder where the vaccine was administered. The office as well as PVSEC diagnosed her with inoperable feline injection-site sarcoma, a cancer that can be prevented by changing the location of where on the body cats receive their vaccines. I reached out to the office to suggest they review vaccine procedures with their staff as the Bradys Run Vet mentioned they may be having an issue with techs doing this, but the office manager Michelle simply said their technicians don't do this. Instead, Michelle insisted that we follow up with her previous vet from 5 years ago to see if they did a vaccine in this location. After trying to contact Michelle via phone after that, office staff told me they were having phone problems and couldn't take a message for Michelle because they were too busy. In the following days, Michelle was either gone for the day, in a meeting, with a client, and then the 4th time just refused to talk to me because she wrote a "self explanatory letter" already telling us to find a new vet. (Each of these times I called, the receptionist couldn't find Abby's file and couldn't tell me anything about her - what did Michelle do with it?). The lack of compassion from the office manager is revolting, not even followed up with a "sorry for your loss" in her letter. I would never recommend this vet - not only because their staff administered the vaccine in the wrong location, but because there was a refusal to admit wrongdoing and a complete lack of compassion for end of life care. read more

We've taken our dog here for the last five years or so. We followed Dr Steinbach here from another vet's office. We've always been satisfied with him and the service. A few weeks ago, Tony got very sick suddenly. We started driving there before they opened and called on the way. They took him right in and we saw Dr Short, who diagnosed him with a severe liver problem. He advised he could be put down, or send him home and see how he responds to medication. We took him home over the weekend, but he did not respond and needed to be put to sleep on Monday. The entire staff was very caring. They took good care of our boy, and we received his ashes in a very nice urn, and a sympathy card signed by the entire staff. My only complaint, and it's minor, is it is sometimes a bit hard to get thru on the phone. I would definitely recommend Drs Short or Steinbach. I have no experience with the other doctor. read more

I took our family dog to Brady's Run Veterinary Hospital to have a bowl obstruction removed and the vet who performed the surgery did not properly stitch the intestines back together. A few days later the intestinal sutures came undone and my dog was septic! The vet who performed the surgery recommended euthanasia, but it was the vets at Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center on Camp Horne Road who saved her life. A few days later I submitted a letter or complaint to Brady's Run Veterinary Hospital requesting a refund for the botched procedure and they promptly declined. This was an expensive learning curve for my family and I do NOT recommend you take your pet to Brady's Run Veterinary Hospital. read more
