"You are giving Nina the most difficult gift that you have ever given." When it came time for my youngest son to say goodbye to his beloved Ryker, we didn't hesitate to call Gentle Farewell. Unfortunately, we did not have the same comforting experience. Dr. Parker was not unkind, but we certainly didn't connect with her glowing testimonials on the website. All 5 of us present, found her to be competent, but clinical and a bit rushed. Maybe she was having a bad day, but we certainly weren't left with the same feeling of empathy as the first experience.

They were bought out by a corporation and the vets keep changing and then the staff kept changing too. In late 2020, l l had to get angry and rude and demand a different medicine that does not cause seizures for my poor pet. My baby was not going through that horrific experience again. Gabapentin has a huge side effect of causing seizures. The vet did not want to believe me. Also, the staff continually confused and messed up appointments as did the online booking tool once they had one (this was from 2020 up through 2024). And then I was made out to look like the one who booked incorrectly, no their online software is set to the wrong time zone. I'd come with my pet at the specified time and be turned away. Really? Thanks for not caring about my pet's needs. They lost me as a customer forever. I nowadays go to a different vet's office around town. There are many others that do better than this corporation. And I know all prices have gone up but not as much as MVC. It's all about big $$. Just pass and go to one of the many others around this town. Your pets will thank you.

My town has an AVETS, but they are not preferred with tons of bad reviews.... So we immediately popped open to see if VEG was the same. It wasn't... VEG is in a brand new facility and has everything to make your experience better. Yes, we still were there for 5 hours. But... the seating is cascaded around the central hub of doctors and nurses with little couches and alcoves of benches. Our dog didn't like the hard floor with his hurting leg but the nurses immediately brought over a comfy dog bed for him. The staff were all so nice! Youthful, genuinely happy, and comforting for all the animals. I will always choose to go here!

One of the things I love about this office is that they have walk-in sick hours every weekday morning. This is huge, as there have been occasional concerns we've had about our cats, but this allowed us to avoid crazy emergency visit charges. We are also able to schedule out Saturday appointments, where we can both bring the cats (it can be a lot to get them in their carriers by yourself) if needed. Their appointments do fill up fast but their walk-in hours are a great option if you are in a bind. They are also great about refilling my one cat's meds and helping answer questions etc. The staff is always nice and helpful, and the place itself is always clean. We are very happy coming here.

But if your dog isn't actually sick and just has diarrhea just get metronidazole and Fortiflora online and save yourself the diagnostics, poop exam, and overcharge on medicine especially some otc stuff. She was respectful and patient as we said our goodbyes, always waiting for us to say we were ready before moving to the next step. I was reminded of the compassion and thoughtfulness expressed by every one at Pittsburgh Pets at Home when I got home from work today to find they had sent us a sympathy card and memorial seed packet of forget-me-nots. Saying goodbye my girl was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do but knowing that she got to go to sleep cozied up in her favorite spot on our bed and listening to her favorite song was such a huge relief. From routine physicals to a few emergency visits, the staff, from front desk to the veterinarians, have been so accommodating and calming for our pup! They recently purchased the entire building that they are in and expanded their facility to have more space for the waiting area and for medical equipment. They routinely have new technicians and vets, including a seemingly routine amount of new graduates. The only reason that I'd take a way a star is that they recently installed new dental equipment to clean and pull pets teeth when they are unconscious. The rub was... for two years of visits... they pushed this service unreasonably aggressive. The first time... the vet that we were randomly assigned.. said that our dog's teeth were a major risk and tried to hand us a business card about the new dental procedure. As she reached in the drawer, the entire stock of cards was gone to her surprise. Needless to say, nothing has happened with his teeth and we never went back to Becky Ortiz VMD. We started requesting a specific veterinarian since then... and Ann Berner DVM has been amazing to our now senior pup.

The office is clean and spacious and everyone who works there is super kind. Highly recommended!

The vet said our cat's teeth were fine and to "monitor" them. This year we took our cat back and the vet says they need ALL of their canines removed! And quoted over $1000! We've paid for every visit and barely get a discount with pet insurance as well. We called around to get other estimates and are going to North Boro instead for half of the price and they advised our cat had missing teeth as well, which this vet never told us. Be sure to advocate for your pet and avoid this negligence. Two stars for them being very friendly at the beginning.
