I was super excited to visit this store cause I love trying new products for my curly hair. They have a nice selection, especially for natural textures and the place looks cute but honestly, I was especting more help from the staff. I ask for a recommendation and the girl wasn't very interested. Maybe she was tired, idk. The prices are also a little high compared to online. Not bad but not sure if I come back. read more

BeautyBeez is beautiful! I can't remember the last time I stepped into a beauty supply (as well as salon) store that had so much space, great displays and good deals. I was greeted immediately and offered assistance. I came in for one product that between the two super personable ladies on duty was found in just a few seconds. I had wanted to stop in a few months ago before March hit like a storm and forced all of us to lay low, but was glad I was able to shop in person. They have all the haircare needs and essentials especially for textured hair. BeautyBeez has some beautiful wings and hair pieces that I know my sister and mom would love to scope out. They have great products for women as well as men. BB has salon stations toward the back of the store in rooms away from the sales floor and they even sell some good skin care products as well. B-Beez has killer displays, a clean layout and a vibrant and fresh energy that will make you wonder why you haven't stopped by sooner. Really a bad place. Tried to book a crochet hair appointment on line twice. Not one Braider responded to me. I went into the business and told the lady who was very nice my trouble trying to book an appointment online. I am older and not used to having to use all these apps to just make a simple hair appointment. The shop is dirty. The front part of the store is hardly what I would call a full service beauty supply store. It is skimpy, barely stocked with simple black beauty products. It has been really difficult to find black hair Braiders since moving to the Valley. I called my old hair Braider in South LA and booked an appointment with a real person and she always does a fabulous job. I just really hate the drive to South LA but at least I can get great services for a really good price. DON'T GO HERE! Poorly managed business. read more

FINALLY.. Black beauty supplies provided by black beauties ! I was so excited to finally find a black owned beauty supply that i didn't have to drive to Inglewood for or try to support online. I love to see it. The ladies behind the counter were extremely friendly and informed me about their loyalty program at checkout. This is my shea butter connection. It's inexpensive and quality product. The location is not HUGE so they may not have everything (I don't recall seeing a large selection of wigs and weave) but they've definitely got all of the essentials like lashes and hair care basics. They even had a few things in there for the fellas. It's clean, well lit and thoughtfully decorated. I was surprised to see the salon area in back as well as the area adorned for IG. I found BeautyBeez while browsing on yelp and I am so glad I did. I was running errands after work (car wash, fill up gas tank, buy groceries) and I knew I wanted to wash my hair that night. I quickly remembered that my comb attachment for my blow dryer was missing a few teeth so I needed to pick up a new one. I was now headed home at this point and I decided to find a neighboring beauty supply store. I came across beautybeez and I noticed it said it was minority-owned AND women-owned so I was insanely intrigued. OMG walking into the space I was immediately blown away by the aesthetic. I was an inviting space and wasn't cluttered at all like your typical beauty supply store. I didn't get this warehouse vibe, but a space that I could explore and essentially hangout. What I thought was super neat was that they had the cutest wig suites where you can go in and relax while you try on different wigs. Not everyone wants to walk around with wig caps out on the store floor so that was pretty cool. They also have the cutest instagrammable wall with the company name which is super smart considering we are in the social media bubble and you document everything. There is a licensed esthetician on location that offers threading, waxing, facial services so I will be back to try those out. Very cute inviting space with a ton of street parking. I've found my new beauty supply location. read more

I am from the OC, but I work in the Los Angeles area, and I was surprised to find an all Black beauty establishment in the valley! My goodness, so I had to come out and try this place for myself. I booked a braiding appointment with Jordan, who is lovely, and sweet, and she let me work on my laptop while braiding my hair. I was amazed by how many colors, extensions, wigs, products the shop had, and the ladies were so knowledgeable about hair types and had a healthy host of reccs for all kinds of people that came into the shop that day. Super cool that it doubles as both a hair salon and a hair supply store. Jordan made my braids look awesome, and would certainly visit the shop and her again for my next hair-do when I'm back in town! read more

Cute lil spot in No Ho and literally had everything I needed. Didn't know this place was here, but it's so clean inside and they have a nice selection of things you can buy. I know it's a braid bar too I believe, because I seen a couple of people getting their hair braided, but the vibe and energy was right inside so it didn't feel weird. You can park in the front but it's on a major street so keep that in mind too. It can get really busy on that street. Girl who worked there had great energy and great customer service. I came here last Monday to get box braids for the first time. My appointment was with Kay whom I had never met before coming to my appointment. I was really nervous at first, because I had never gotten box braids before. I am so happy I did it! From the initial phone call to BeautyBeez ; the staff was extremely helpful, professional, and very nice. They answered all questions I had and helped me choose the perfect color for my hair. Kay was professional, clean, and did my hair in record fast time (but it still came out amazing) I don't know if I will ever return to my normal state of Hair after getting these braids. I was so glad that this store opened in my neighborhood, but unfortunately my experience shortly after this store opened was not good. I have not been back since. I was the only person in the store and whenever I picked up an item to buy, an associate would come l to me and take the item and kept it at the register. Even the smallest items. The associate said it was to "keep my hands free" but it felt like they were suspecting me of stealing for some reason. I still spent a good amount of money while I was here, but I wish I hadn't. Considering the negative experiences so many of us have in non-Black-owned beauty supply stores and how most of them are anti-Black despite serving the Black community, this experience was very upsetting and disheartening. I did not expect to feel this way at BeautyBeez. I am writing this review now because I am planning to braid my hair and was looking for beauty supply stores near me when this one came up. Although this is the closest one to me, I cannot bring myself to return. I am not sure if every customer was treated this way, but I sincerely hope they are no longer doing this. I have to start by saying my first experience at this business was the worst I ever had. The braider I chose did a bad job; my daughters braid's started coming out after 2 days; she couldn't get her school pictures taken. I went back because I really like the store; the employees are extremely helpful; the prices are good and the selection is amazing. I support local businesses and I believe in second chances most of the time. I remembered liking the other stylist that day Geneva Fowler; so I made an appointment for the next school pictures! I just called to find out if they have a braider who can do all human hair knotless braids because I have can't use synthetic hair with my hair and scalp. The receptionist was incredibly unhelpful and the manager wouldn't bother to get on the phone with me to see if something could be worked out. There are 5 braiders advertised on the site and the manager told the receptionist to say that none of them are comfortable doing human hair braids. She couldn't have had time to ask them so now those braiders are losing out on the initial money, the repeat business and expanding their skillset. The business is clearly more interested in seeming like a chic and fabulous place than actually working with customers to create a mutually beneficial situation. read more
