Shaunda, the salon owner, offered to give me a free conditioning treatment that would help my hair recover some of it's curl pattern and she also offered to reimburse me the $120 that Keisha was supposed to refund me. She said Keisha was out of town. Ms Shaunda was very kind and very generous and I truly appreciated her understanding with this matter. I took her up on both offers and went to her on 8/31 to get the conditioning treatment and hair misting service and it was very nice. My curl pattern was more evident, although I still had evidence of heat damage especially in the back but, nonetheless, Ms. Shaunda is a true professional and clearly knows about natural hair. My visit today was a silk press and color. I arrived really early for my noon appointment so Shaunda , the owner wasn't there but I was taken in and was given a hair wash. Fast forward to 12:30, 30 minutes past my appointment time Shaunda comes in doesn't introduce herself or apologize for being late. I ask, did you have me in the books? Now this is only because the receptionist was on the phone with her earlier and asked me what my name was. Shaunda said yes but then said she went to get lunch. Fine. But still didn't apologize for being late. Now we're into the appointment at 3:00pm and another client comes in (yes I'm still there) and her staff introduces themselves including Shaunda! I'm more disappointed in this experience than pissed off although the whole time I was biting my tongue because I was mad with her "service." I was there for over 3 hours and the best customer service was the owners staff. People show you who they are so believe it.

We agreed to a price I was willing to pay. Lack of transparency in pricing seems to be common in braiding salons.

He has gotten it done before by a coworker and he was still and silent as a mouse. Definitely took him to the wrong place because they do not know how to do children's hair and I question whether they are even capable of doing corn rolls. He was screaming in pain the entire time and the corn rolls came out absolutely horrible. Worst job I've ever seen. They blamed it on him being so young. I explained twice that he got his hair done by an amateur almost a year ago not only did it turn out good but he didn't make a sound. That was met with looks of disbelief like I was lying to them. The whole situation was uncomfortable and frankly strange. It turned out so bad that they just told me to "pay what I could ". When I made the appointment she said it would cost 50-80 dollars, no more than 80. The receptionist asked me how much I wanted to pay, I said 80 and she gave me a look like "that's it". It was way more than they deserved and certainly more than the results we got. I really hope they do a better job on adults but when it comes to kids they don't know what they are doing. Do not go to this place especially if you have kids. The first picture was taken after my coworker did his hair with zero crying almost a year ago. It takes me 3 hours to wash and blow dry her hair whereas they knock it out in no time, it's worth to $25-$30 dollars. They run on time 90% if the rime and if for some reason they are running behind she will text you to let you know. I appreciate that, prevents having to go sit and wait. Their space has 4 chairs and they are always full. The word is out and the have a good flow of clients. I like walking in and seeing there work which is precision. My girls braids 4-6 weeks, it all depends on how THEY take care of them and keep their scarfs on throughout the night. I highly recommend this salon.

I scheduled a 2:00pm appointment two days in advance. I arrived only for them to be back-up with customers and 4 people ahead of me. After 3 hours of waiting, I finally got in the chair. The hairstylist took another 3 hours just to put the hair color in my hair. My flexi rod curls were completed by the hair stylist's assistant (who by the way did a wonderful job). Sadly we did not leave the salon until a few minutes after 10:00pm. I was in this salon from 2:00pm to 10:15pm. My entire day was spent in this salon. My plans to have dinner and catch a movie with friends were cancelled. I will never recommend this salon to any of my friends or associates and I will never step foot in this salon ever, again.

During my appointment she was nice, funny, and allowed me to relax. I never have a good experience with getting braids, even weaves done in the DC/MD area, typically the braider is rude, they pull your hair, and just overall very very unprofessional but Dina was the complete opposite.
