I got a wash, condition, blow dry, press, cut, and style, and let me tell you, I haven't had hair this soft in ages!! She showed me how much hair she could cut off while also retaining length, but I told her to go even shorter lol! She absolutely delivered She was so personable, and soft spoken, and was able to hold great conversation without anything feeling phony or forced! I've gotten so used to doing 1-on-1 appointments with other stylists, but there were 3 other ladies in there with me, and they all contributed to the great conversations! Shaunda, the salon owner, offered to give me a free conditioning treatment that would help my hair recover some of it's curl pattern and she also offered to reimburse me the $120 that Keisha was supposed to refund me. She said Keisha was out of town. Ms Shaunda was very kind and very generous and I truly appreciated her understanding with this matter. I took her up on both offers and went to her on 8/31 to get the conditioning treatment and hair misting service and it was very nice. My curl pattern was more evident, although I still had evidence of heat damage especially in the back but, nonetheless, Ms. Shaunda is a true professional and clearly knows about natural hair. So I figured I'd just cut it short now, make the sacrifice, so I can enjoy long hair later. But I am SO happy I came here! My hair is a little above my shoulders now and it looks better than it did when it was long! Miss Carol was super knowledgeable, and really put me at ease by explaining everything she was doing as she was doing it. She was able to tell how my hair comes in kind of wavy/curly by looking at the roots (since it was straighter due to being weighed down before) and adjusted the cut accordingly. When I asked for bangs, even without knowing exactly how I wanted them to look, she gave me some that suit my face shape really well. Another cool thing about this place is they're familiar with military hair regulations. Definitely recommend it for any military peeps in the area, men or women. I asked for an appointment after noon, and she offered 1:30 - great. I did wait a few minutes for her to finish the client before me, but I could tell she really cares about giving the best possible result, which held true when she spent nearly an hour on my simple wash, cut & style. Sunny is just delightful to talk to, so I enjoyed my time in her chair. The only thing I specified was to keep my bangs just touching my eyebrows, and I am pleased with them being exactly right. I didn't give any other real direction, just shared that I don't like a lot of layers because I like to put my hair up when it gets hot. She told me, "You need a little bit of layers because it's thin," which is true and to which I agreed. Before the first cut, she held up the ends and showed me about 3/4" and said the splits needed that much to come off, and again I agreed.
