Prior to Leo becoming the manager at this location, it was great. Now, I would not even leave 1 star, but Yelp is making me. I will not return to this location, nor will I recommend this location to anyone. I do not trust him and his team, I was told my rotors were resurfaced and brake pads replaced, after three days I had my car serviced in San Antonio at Acura for something else and asked them to check Leo's work because something wasn't right. Acura sent me videos and pictures of both rear warped rotors. I called Leo and he said "that's odd cause everything was new and I did the work myself." I proceeded to try Brake Check again, this time going to a location in Boerne, Texas and was told yes, they are warped and will need to be replaced. I have a warranty on my brakes and rotors and that's why I chose for them to repair and replace them, otherwise I would have had Acura do it. I should have never been sent home with the rotors in the condition that they were in, luckily nothing serious happened while I was on the road. Daniel and Keith at the Boerne location replaced everything and made sure I was confident and safe on the road back before leaving the shop. I will make sure their corporate office knows how great they were and I will return to the location in Boerne. I would rather drive over 2 hours for trusted service, than drive 10 minutes down the road. read more

Disappointed in the fact that I trusted these people to take care of my oil change & had 100$ go missing from my visor! I went back immediately after only getting 2 miles down the road to ask about it, only for them to deny it right to my face when that was the only place I had gone that morning! Mind you it was only 9am, very unfortunate on my end and upsetting to see they hire thieves. I am going to file a police report so this does not keep happening to other people. Went to get my breaks inspected, was told what was wrong & paid almost $600 to get them fixed (on a Thursday).. only had the new breaks for a day in a half, I hear an ugly grinding. Call break check (Victoria) and ask them is this normal? They say "no" to bring the car in, brought it in yesterday (Saturday) he looked at it said nothing was wrong with what they touched, ok cool so what could it be? He took my car on a test drive came back and clearly said something was wrong with it.. checked it out took about a hour I got there at 8:45am.. didn't get results until about 9:30am, he told me I needed a new break line, and had a bad Calibar.. ok, so he gave me a quote of $200 close to $300 and I said ok, I'm thinking from what he is telling me that's the total for the work that needs to be done including calibar, break hose and plus they say they put all new break pads on again (lifetime warranty) so they say they did. they're for almost 4 hours! did not get out until 12:52 pm. They were extremely packed people were coming and going and I had no estimate of what was going on or what was even being done with my vehicle, I couldn't even see my car thru the window. So my car finally comes, he said he didn't hear any grinding while breaking in the parking lot.. ok, at the. End of the day I get on the loop going 75 my car makes this ugly grinding noise like something is rubbing I can't even go over 40 without it getting louder and louder. My uncle who is a mechanic looked at it and said there had to be damage from something being bent or the caliber needed to be changed which is an extensive job and I think they just didn't want to do it they made me wait so long acting as if they were doing it and fed me bs. ALL IN ALL I WASTED CLOSE TO $800 in 2 DAYS! NEVER EVER EVERRRR GO TO THIS PLACE PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!! they gave me more problems then I had before which was little to none! They really screwed my car up and gave me the run around for more of my hard working money! I definitely will never come back and they are not going to touch my vehicle I won't even go back to even get them to fix the problems they gave me! I will be dealing with my own mechanic from now on. & OH THEY BENT MY HUBCAP ITS LITERALLY BENT AND WONT FIT BACK IN CORRECTLY. read more

A caliper broke on my way down Navarro a couple days ago. Brake check was closest and brakes were smoking. Pulled in and asked to have things checked out. $1,094 to fix caliper, replace 4 brake pads, replace a hose and replace bearings. Wow! Super expensive and a hard no. Had them replace caliper, front brake pads and fluid hose.$545!!! Very pricey. The reason for the 4 stars was for professionalism, honesty and a quick job. It was 3pm and we were out by 6pm with a list of work that can be done at home. We just needed on the road. read more

My friend went for an alignment, they completely fucked it up. So he ended up getting another one at dealership down the street. They put it back to dealer standards. Why does anyone need to spend money there if you need to spend more to fix it again????? read more

I went to break check because a coupon from a tier store. I had ware on the inside. Got hear it will only be 20 min to do it. and one and hafe later there dun. Thay had some trouble to get it right and it's barely in to the range to be write. Then Thay tell me I might need some new parts. If I have bad parts Thay shod have checked before Thay dun the alien ment. Now I wonder if it's going to last? I did get the alien ment for life of the car, so I might get part Replaced somewhere else and come back to have it aline. read more

Went for service on July 5th. Got all 4 brakes replaced and a rotor. Service was pretty quick compared to 9+ hours elsewhere. Big reason for 5 stars was the price. I have shopped around before going. Best price plus time. Went in at 9 AM and left at 11:40 AM! Went to Houston right after and car ran extra smooth! Check their site for convenient appointment setting and discounts. Went in for an oil change and the manager at the desk was more interested in being on his cellphone before he even acknowledged me standing there. He also quoted me a different price than what he charged me after the oil was changed. After leaving smoke started bellowing out from under my hood and there was a strange noise happening. I pulled into a parking lot and popped the hood to find oil all over my engine. After looking at the paperwork from them I see they charged me for 5 quarts of oil and I have never paid for 5 quarts, my car takes 4 quarts. So I take the car back and tell that same manager what was happening and he was so rude and nasty. He said my car takes 4.2 quarts so they charged me for 5 quarts. After looking they found the technician spilled a bunch of oil on my engine but didn't bother to clean it so the shop manager put a cleaner on and sprayed all the oil off.Needless to say because of the way I was treated by the manager I will never use that place again. read more

Below unacceptable; incompetence all around. First, they broke a brake line banjo bolt; I have no idea how they managed to do that, but in my 20+ years of wrenching on cars that happened to me twice; both times because I was too cheap to put in new crush washers. That turned a 45 minutes and $100 brake job quoted initially into a two days long, $200 ordeal. Then, I was unable to get a straight answer to a direct question (such as: "when do you open tomorrow?"). After that, they could not figure out that a bolt that "looks like 3/8, but not quite" is probably a metric M10. Then they had the chutzpah to charge 50 bucks for brake fluid flush, even though the oral agreement (after their inability to procure the correct bolts for two days, and after I said, "fine, if you can not find the part that you broke in the first place, replace the calipers") was, and I quote, "I'll pay for parts, but not for labor". To add insult to injury, $10 for a banjo bolt? That better be made out of gold, or, at least, titanium; regular steel ones go for under $2. And while we're at it, can anyone please explain how a single-digit trip meter reading turned into 100+ miles over the two days the truck was - supposedly - inoperable at the shop? read more

Appear to be nice people. However in my case the experience leaves me feeling they are dishonest, break promises and are incompetent. The first manager was fired when I returned my vehicle to complain of unsolved brake problem continuing. This was after I invested $900+ on the first repair; and $550+ on the second. When brake issues continued, I was told another $1,600 required to fix the repairs; with no guarantee the problem would be solved. Additionally I spent $500+ in rental car fees during that time because of concerns the vehicle was unsafe to drive. After those incidents at Brake Check another auto repair shop fixed the issue for $288. The current manager promised me that someone higher up with Brake Check would be contacting me. No one with Brake Check has contacted me since that time. It appears they have established a pattern of behavior that is unprofessional, dishonest and uncaring except for how much they can overcharge clients. Seriously Brake Check is to be avoided. read more
