My car transmission went out in 12/24. I was broke down in the middle of the road. I didn't really have a choice who was g going to fix it. I had it towed to Eagle Transmission in Denton. The man was extremely rude and said if I didn't give them my business he was going to charge me an extremely high amount for the tow and to look at the transmission. So reluctantly I let him fix it. They told me at the time that I should bring my car back in a year and have the transmission checked. I went in there yesterday in the same rude guy was there and told me they don't look at transmissions unless there's a lifetime warranty. I told him that's not what you told me a year ago and he said yes it was. So rude! I don't know how this guy has a business he treats people terrible. Would not recommend. I took my 2011 Honda Fit to Eagle after it suddenly started to not shift. The next day they told me I needed a new (rebuilt) transmission. The quote was for $7000. Unfortunately, I had a lot going on at the time and I just decided to pay it and get it done. They said it would be 2 weeks before the transmission arrived. That month there were a lot of storms and hail, so I decided to drive it home and keep it in the garage until the transmission arrived. On the way home, it drove fine and shifted normally. I decided to get a second opinion, and the mechanic stated that he had rarely seen 2nd generation Fit's transmission fail, and that he would diagnose it. He also gave me a quote that was $1000 less and a longer warranty. I called Eagle and told them this and they were adamant that I had already paid and had to go through with the install. I had the transmission installed, and when I got out on the service road there was a lot of vibration on acceleration. After I got home I called them and told them this. They said bring it back in and they would look at it. Turned out, they had damaged the motor mounts and had to replace them. It took two more weeks to get that done. After driving the car a few days, I noticed a clunking when shifting from park to neutral and back into gear. It was summer by then and I thought I would wait until it was cooler to take it back (my other car doesn't have AC). This weekend, as I was changing my oil, i noticed the rear motor mount bolts had back out quite a bit (see picture). I was shocked. I torqued them down to specification and the clunking is gone. I will never do business again with Eagle! This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a auto repair facility. For $7000 I expect a LOT more than what I got. read more

Here's a review 3 years after the fact... new transmission in a 2002 f250 7.3 liter. I opted for the lifetime warranty. Set a reminder in your phone to take it in for the free annual inspection the keep the warranty valid. So far, so good. Transmission operates perfectly. Looks like a lot of the bad reviews here are based on sticker shock. Transmissions are expensive. Shop around. Anyone promises something half the price it's probably shady. I wish I could give zero stars, my vehicle started shifting near this location, so I pulled in and left vehicle because the Ernie was not there. Ernie called and raved on how nice my car was and asked what I owed on it and things. He informed me it would be $650 to diagnose vehicle I approved that. I was then told it was an issue and it would be $5000 to fix it. I did not know I had a warranty on the vehicle and called and told Ernie I had warranty, he opened a claim with warranty company but STILL said I would owe him $3000 after the warranty. So my brother suggested to just not get it repaired there and to find a used transmission. I went to shop to pay my $650 fee with my credit card and old RACIST Ernie was NOT at the shop again. He comes in saying that he only takes blue backs. I was not sure why he had all these signs saying he takes credit cards and would not take my discover, American express, visa or, master card. I was upset but NEVER cussed or became irate with Ernie, he called the police on me and lied, he then would not give an itemized list of the charges of why I would OWE $3000 after warranty, would pay their part. The warranty company would send him a used transmission and all he would do is swap the old transmission for the one warranty company would send me. I declined and he said he could not honor his work if the transmission warranty company sent was bad. After the police was called and I paid Ernie in cash he called and tried to fix my vehicle he said free of charge. I never engaged with him again because WHY would I trust him after how he treated me if he wanted to be fair he could have offered me half of my diagnostic fee back because of the inconvenience. I also found out from new mechanic shop that I towed my car to that bolts were missing and stripped, a gasket was missing that I had to pay for, just all my parts to my transmission were not returned he literally put my transmission in the rear of my vehicle. Once the mechanic writes up all the parts that are were missing, I will communicate with Ernie on reimbursement for parts. I would not do business with this particular eagle transmission and be careful of Ernie the old owner. He attempted to antagonize me to get me out of character, but I refused to engage I have all of this on video also. I filed a complaint with BBB and Ernie did not even respond to them. read more

I was always told if you want quick and good then it's not cheap, but it wasn't quick.....I was told a 2 day wait period and had to wait an extra day, which wouldn't be a problem if I had been informed in a decent amount of time plus I had to call to get the information. This is what happened to me. I had transmission work, and a couple of other small minor issues. I drop my vehicle off, it took them 10 days to return it. It did not fix the problem. Not only did I not get my problem fixed, but my ceramic brake pads and some other higher end repairs that I had done earlier, less than a year, we're no longer on my vehicle. I thought I was hearing noise coming from the transmission of my 1994 Chevy truck, so I took it to this business to get their opinion. After pulling the pan, they came in the lobby to show me two examples of transmission fluid. One was what it should look like and the other was supposedly what mine looked like. They added that my transmission was shifting irregularly, a sign that that it needed and overhaul, And finally, they added that they found pieces of metal in mine (which I later found out from a real mechanic is pretty common). Their suggestion? Overhaul the transmission at a cost of something like $2,500. I told them to put the pan back on and refill the transmission because I wasn't going to do that. Three years later of using the truck to pull a car and trailer and the transmission is still working fine. And the noise? Turns out it was a bad catalytic converter and not the transmission. read more

It will actually only be $2,500-$2,800" NO JOKE. As soon as I said I would look around for other prices he took off $1,000 from his initial "estimate". Need I say more? This is a franchise out to get as much of your money as possible. Steve is not an honest guy. If you're in Denton, go to Dave's. Horrible just horrible. Took my car to them the first time they told me it was my transmission so they contacted my extended warranty in which it covered my transmission to be rebuild and it wasn't even done right . When they told me it was ready I went to go pick it up and less then 2 hrs my transmission light came back on. Left it there again and they told me it was my tcm. So they so called fixed that and the programming wasn't even done right and my transmission light was on again . Took it back for the third time and left it there for a week and they never ever looked at it they kept telling me it has more codes and they need more information on that. Please don't take your care there at all they are horrible horrible. My car now needs a new transmission!!!!! read more

UPDATE After getting the truck home and getting the supposedly to long drive shaft installed and replacing my COMPLETELY drained battery, I started to smell a burning smell, come to find out I was charged for the transmission fluid however they NEVER put fluid in. So after taking it to another transmission shop they added over a quart of fluid after I added some myself from home and they confirmed that my driveshaft was in fact the correct length. Eagle Transmission and their "30 yr tech" should reimburse me for all my troubles they've caused and potentially burning up my transmission. What a shame these people are so crooked During a time of pandemic this crooked shop decided to take advantage of my situation. The lack of customer service AND communication is absolutely horrendous. This was my 3rd repair facility to call and get information from for work I was needing done. This was the 1 shop I felt I could trust to handle my situation and low and be hold the took advantage. From "free" towing, to it'll be done today, to you can finance for payments, to we can't help you. I am absolutely appalled by how I was treated. Yes, there is a lot of missing information but at the end of the day it comes down to me asking to much from a company that provided little to no info on their end. Towing is only free if service repairs are over $1,000. Understood. They supposedly replaced parts of my transmission and provided 1 photo of nothing very descriptive when I had asked for several photos. Next issue was I provided my own driveshaft to be installed and I had this drive shaft installed in my garage with no issues other than the reason why the truck needed to be towed to the transmission shop to begin with. Now that they've had the truck for a week I'm being told the drive shaft I provided was to long and was not going to fit. I asked for photos and still received no photos or even dimensions for me to provide to the drive shaft company to get the correct parts. Then when I go to set up financing you can only finance on jobs over $1,000.... Wow, so now I am having to foot the whole bill unknowingly before I can get the keys back. In frustration I leave the building. Jasmine follows me out after I had a heated conversation with the manger about the whole situation. I go back inside and apply for financing and get approved for $2,500. More than the $898.xx I was having to pay for repairs. I can not take my truck from their lot until the amount due had hit their account which takes 24hrs... I had a tow truck in route. So now that they have ran my credit and then tell me this information I have to FINALLY resort to paying with a credit card I did not want to use. So the reasons why I choose initially to use this shop all came out later after time and time and time again I was told there is an issue. I do not agree with how this facility is ran by the manager Jimmy who is and absolute d*ck head and Jasmine who is his little puppet. Let me not forget that the battery in my truck is fully dead and I didn't think they could handle getting that fixed so I told them to not worry about it.! read more

So we picked the car up and called Eagle, they immediately found the problem, and fixed it!!! Eagle saved the day and communicated everything through and through. Plus, guaranteed their work. I've had a lot of work done at this shop and the manager is outstanding. My second vehicle was invaded by mice and squirrels, so there were wires chewed throughout the car. We had a terrible experience here. We dropped off our truck to be checked out, it sat at the shop for almost a week before we could even get an estimate for what needed to be fixed. My husband and I called several times only to be told he would have to call us back and never did. Finally, when I called and sternly told him this was unacceptable I got an estimate out of him. The estimate was for something not related to the transmission so I called around and found somewhere else to fix it for cheaper. Picked up the truck and it's now fixed, no thanks to this shop. I took my super duty pick up to Eagle transmission to have the transmission repaired they told me I needed a new transmission and installed one the problem was I started having issues with it almost immediately after the warranty ran out which was only 1500 miles. I took it to another transmission shop it brought me back into their shop area and showed me where the bolts of been misaligned and stripped the oil pan bolts of been stripped. Charged an arm and a leg for a fluid change. Bill showed 13.5 quarts of tranny fluid. I told him the tranny itself only calls for 6 and I watched him drop the pan and put it back without draining the cooling system. Short Version: Took way longer to repair my car than necessary, what they promised, and what other shops say how long it takes. Lied to me on multiple occasions and did not perform repairs properly, which could have endangered my life. Don't trust them. Detailed Version: If your job makes them a lot of money or they simply have nothing else to do then they will repair your car quickly. If you don't match those requirements they will take their sweet time. I am younger, so maybe they thought they could lie to me and get away with it. I was stranded in Denton and all I needed was a simple repair. I found out later that this was such an easy job it can get done in under an hour, at most a day if the parts are not available. It took them almost a whole week. This cost me money as I couldn't go to work and needed a place to stay. I called Steve and made him aware of this, but that didn't seem to make a difference. Steve may seem like a nice guy and maybe he is at home, but when he is at work don't be fooled by that smile, he doesn't have your best interest at mind. He told me on multiple occasions they were about to look at my car and he would give me a call back. He never called back, not once, and one day I showed up my car was in the parking lot, when I was pretty much first in line a week ago. I just stuck around the shop because I needed my car. He finally did the work promised, but wait that isn't it. I had to double check their work because I was concerned. The next shop I went to said that whoever replaced my power steering belt did not tighten the belts, which is supposed to be a standard thing to do. They also mentioned that the amount of time it took for my services to be completed were ridiculous. I think it is worth repeating that the power steering being affected also endangers my life because you can't turn as quickly in an emergency situation. I assume they did this to spite me for calling to check up on my car or maybe they simply wanted me to pay them for money. I don't care for reviews, but people need to be warned. They will take advantage of you especially if you are younger or maybe simply may not know much about cars. I used to work with students and I despise people that take advantage of people just starting off on their own. Go somewhere else there are plenty of good, honest shops in Denton. read more

Don't waste your time, money or frustration on these guys. They had me waiting for two days for a $100 repair. First, they tell me they "might not be able to get to it" the day I bring it in, but if I leave my car with them it will be first thing in the morning. First thing in the morning turns into noon which turns into five pm. I call back to get some information, and Steve makes me feel like I'm hounding him ... but despite me rushing him, he assures me that he will call me "right" back with some information. I wait and wait and wait. He never calls back. When I show up the next morning, he offers no apology and tells me about the other customers that were in front of me. All well and good, except you tell somebody that before you hold their car hostage for TWO DAYS. Maybe a job takes longer than it should, I understand that, but after two days I'm still waiting for an estimate. An estimate? Really? That's a sad joke. Honesty is a full time job, in every aspect of the job. If a company can't be honest about how long it will take to do a job, and they do that unapologetically, I wouldn't trust them in any area. If they had been honest with me about their workload and the time it would take to get their hands on my car, I probably wouldn't have brought it to them, and that's probably what they were thinking. They either lied or have no clue how clocks and calendars work. If you don't take my advice and give Eagle Transmission a chance, WHEN something goes wrong, don't expect an apology. Expect an argument and excuses. Don't expect any kind of customer service. Don't expect timeliness or professionalism. And if you're hoping for quality automotive care, I don't know how you could possibly expect that either. Enter at your own risk. read more

Absolutely awful experience here! Blew my transmission last summer and got it rebuilt at this location and now it is April and I'm getting the same work done on it again. I brought my truck in two Thursday ago and was promised it would be done by the next Wednesday. I came in the next Wednesday and they said they were almost there and should be done the next day. When I came in the next day they explained to me that they messed up on the wiring and had to completely start over and it would be done on Monday. Giving them the benefit of the doubt I was understanding and came back Monday after noon and they again began to explain to me that they messed up again and aren't sure when it'll be done. My truck has been here for a week and and a half and on top of this frustration I've had to pay over $400 for a rental car because of their continuous screw ups. I would highly recommend going anywhere else in the Denton/dfw region. read more
