I don't even know where to begin with these clowns.about two weeks ago. I bought my ford escape in because the traction light was staying on and the abs light, and emergency brake light would also come on and then go off. first they told me that they scan it with an obd scanner and that it was giving off a bunch of codes. then they told me my car was leaking oil. That my car engine was almost completely empty of oil.which I know was untrue. I take my car to the factory dealer for oil changes .if I had an oil leak why is there no oil in my driveway where I park,or anywhere I drive the car. they also told me I needed the steering wheel angle sensor replaced. all 4 wheels sensors replaced.a tie rod replace and some other stuff for a total of $2000 dollars. the real kicker is they told me before they could do any work on it. they have to clean the engine for $75.00.i agree to let them do that.which they couldn't even do that right. I could of took a garden hose and spay the engine with cold water and did a better job then what they did. So I took the car to another auto repair shop. who told me I had 3 codes that came up on their scanner. The problem was that my steering wheel angle sensor needed to be recalibrated.and the power steering control module needed to be reprogram. I also ask them if they could replace my windshield since it was badly cracked which they told me they could do that too. they did all that for less then $600. you guys should stick to just doing brakes but after the way you clean my engine. I was so impressed with these guys! I screwed up my car this morning on my way to work. Today I was working 45 minutes from my home so I was worried about how I would get home to pick up my kids without a safely working car. They brought me back from their shop to my work, and picked me up when my car was done and got it all done in less than a day, and all for a very reasonable price. Thank you so much to Shawn who is the manager and this location he truly gave me and my little family a Christmas Miracle I fell in some hard times but I needed to get my brakes fixed. Being a single mother of 2 and just getting some really bad news that my parents had been in a horrible accident and my Dad broke his neck! Thank God my Dad will make it! I went in to get my brakes looked at as they have been making a grinding sound and I knew I was gonna have to get them fixed! With little money I tried to get the financing but unfortunately I did not get approved! Excellent customer service. The first time I went it was for an oil change for m Scion. I came in yesterday to have my back passenger window fixed. The motor was going out and I could not roll up or down the window. They made sure they walked me through it. The manager is a cool an humble gentleman and the gentleman Daniel who helped me yesterday provided excellent customer service. I did not feel rushed or brushed off. This place is a JOKE AND RIP OFF!!! Went in a month ago to get an alignment done told us we needed new tie rods and ball joints and they wanted to charge us almost $3000. So we got a few estimates from different places and it shouldn't have even cost us over $500. Well we fixed it and went back to get an alignment once again and now Brake plus is telling us our front control arms are shot and once again they couldn't do the alignment. So here we are AGAIN getting opinions from 2 different places and are front control arms are good and nothing was wrong with them. We even got an alignment done else where so NO I would NOT RECOMMEND this place to NO ONE and just cause they tell you something is wrong doesn't mean it is and you should get a second opinion if not you will be paying for something that don't even need to be fixed. read more

ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION I found this place just a few months ago when my breaks were making a nasty metal on metal noise. They said all my break pads needed replacing and they would do it for $300. I just recently brought my car in for an oil change and suddenly my car needed $900 worth of repairs! Apparently both tie rods needed replacing as well as my shocks. The mechanic, Jeff, was telling me that my car was undrivable and it wasn't safe for me to drive at all. He said all of this needed replacing "about a year ago" but funny they didn't notice a thing when they were fixing the breaks. So I took my car to a family friend who is also a mechanic (I will be taking my business to him from now on) and he didn't notice anything wrong. He checked my entire car with a fine tooth comb. This business is greedy and will scam you. They are commission based and will try to trick you into buying things you don't need. My husband had the same problem here at his last oil change and funny, he didn't have any problems either when he got a second opinion about his struts. And when he got his oil changed with me this time they (breaks plus) didn't mention the struts at all. Also I needed new windshield wipers and they told me the "best" ones to get were $17 so I thought no big deal until I got charged $35 for windshield wipers because he did not clarify at all that it was $17 for EACH read more

No one even offered to give me some sort of compensation for my time like a free oil change in the future anything would've been great but no just hey we can't service your vehicle we wasted your time and you're out of luck! Terrible service. Had my car checked and when I popped my hood I had my housing clips for my air filter missing. The air filter intake hose not even connected and my car won't even start anymore. 3 months ago had my brakes replaced due to them squeaking. The fix went great. Before I could get my car back mechanics told me I was going to have to get a full replacement of all 4 struts. Parts and all labor were to be $1,600. I told them there was no way I was paying that kind of money in full for something I was barely quoted and pressured into buying all over phone conversation. I declined, told them to fix my brakes and I would be on my way. Three months have passed with no issues. Today out of curiosity had 2 different friends of mine check my struts. Both are self-employed veteran mechanics with their own shops and both came to a conclusion opposite of the "certified mechanic" at this money trap store. My struts have no issues, make no noise, and run smooth as hoped for according to them. Never using this place again for any repairs. Scam artists and deserve to be investigated. I went instead to my trusted Heidelberg motors, Audi specialists, where I've been going for 10 years without a problem. Do not ever go here it will only result in pain & sorrow as my Uncle found out in april 2019. The invoice he was presented with was a few (and I mean very few) dollars short of $1800.00 all he went in for was for a grinding brake that had just started a week or 2 previously. Now my Uncle is an older guy who is not as sharp as he used to be was an easy mark for what I consider a dishonest practices. They told him he virtually needed almost everything associated with his brakes including things like all drums and rotors, fluid lines, leak repair, etc. Well, fortunately they couldn't get front rotors (after a week of B.S.) so when I came in to town I called my Brother in New Mexico who is a certified Master mechanic said he had some personal business to resolve in Denver that he would start to head up the following morning. Upon arriving the next day he and another man and his best friend that he grew up with and is virtually another brother and is himself a Master auto tech who is now mastering Diesel mechanics took a look at what was supposedly done for $1800.00 their analysis was they really couldn't see that much was done. They (Brakes Plus) replaced the drums but were having trouble finding front rotors which they told my Uncle could not be turned on all drums & rotors so we went to Brakes Plus and told them we could get the front rotors ourselves so they reimbursed what they were charging for them $145.00. Upon further inspection of the old rotors my brother and the other Master tech they both agreed that these rotors could indeed be turned, just makes me wonder about the drums and if they could have been turned as well. This Brakes Plus did put on a new brake line and a few other things new shoes and pads etc. but we couldn't really see anything that justified $1800.00 of work even getting the $145.00 returned for their failure to obtain the front rotors. I will personally never visit this establishment again advise the same to you !!! read more

I think these folks are scammers. I took my car in for brakes in 2009 with the $99.99 coupon. Using what I now know is their standard upsell pressure technique once they have your car all in pieces and tell you there is tons wrong with it I bought $1600+ worth of service. This included the struts which are supposed to have a lifetime warranty. Last year the front end started to squeak and such again so I took it in under the warranty. They spent about 5 min. tightened the strut mount bolt and I had my car back. Then the same thing happened again recently and I took it in expecting the same quick fix. Before I knew it they had it up on the rack, all four tires off doing who knows what to it. There was only the one problem with the squeaking in the area right near the front drivers strut mount. There was no reason to take all four tires off (warning bells going off - what were they doing to my car???). Then they asked me who had replaced the struts (my warning bells were going off again as I felt they were going to tell me I had to replace the struts). When I said they had they switched over to telling me I had to replace the two front strut mounts for about $500 and they would warranty out the struts and replace them for free. I'm going to take it elsewhere for a second opinion. If the struts turn out to be bad I'll take it elsewhere for replacement. As dishonest folks are dishonest folks and I don't want to throw good money after bad. After reading reviews on-line I'm thinking that likely they scammed me into the original purchase. Do a search on Brakes Plus rip offs. You'll read plenty and likely head elsewhere with your car. read more

This was the worst brake job ever! I went back repeatedly over the course of several weeks, twelve times to be exact. They never fixed the brakes. They fixed the front instead of the back and never did stop the squealing in my back brake..Every time I was there they were all apologies to other customers who's brakes they had screwed up as well. They lent me a loaner car while they tried to fix mine and it overheated and barely made it back to the shop. Highly recommend this location to anyone. I've used these guys before and returned again today because of how happy I was with the quality of work and customer service they showed me last time. We took both my husbands truck and my vehicle in to have the brakes replaced. Shawn, and JB were courteous, friendly and immediately expressed gratitude for my business. My husband dropped his truck off before his appt. time and got a call back a few hours later. His truck was ready, only it was less than we anticipated because they told me the fronts were fine and didn't need replaced. When we picked up the truck we dropped my car for a brake replacement, and got a call back within the hour. Upon inspection, they found both my front and rear brakes were fine. I am extremely grateful for the good work they do, and for the integrity they have shown in how they treat us as a valued customers. Called at noon, Shawn the manager said we were just about to call you will be in touch soon. At 3:35 p.m. Called again and was told just about to call you we have that done. Asked what the problem was. I can't tell you that I'll call you in a little while. Why can't you tell me. I don't have the paperwork, really you guys do all that stuff on the computer why can't you tell me. I'll call you in a little while. Have you even looked at the car cuz if not I'll just come pick it up. We have I just can't tell you what's wrong with it. Twenty minutes later I get my call back. All this person had to do was tell me at the beginning that he could look at my car sometime during the day not told me that I had an appointment at 9 and it would take an hour maybe a little more and I wouldn't be nearly as angry as I currently am. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I went for a simple oil change and alignment and it turned into a $1200 tie rod replacement. I felt completely taken advantage of and scammed based on the second opinion I was given at another auto mechanic shop. Long story short, I curb checked my car and felt it was driving crooked, so trusting Brakes Plus, I told them the situation and asked for an alignment. They ran with it and falsified repairs to make $1200 off me. My second opinion let me see under the car to assure me that it was truly just the alignment and I walked away paying $65. Now I am concerned Brakes Plus didn't even change my oil and rather just enabled the change oil light on my dash. I will never go here again! read more

I went to Brakes Plus after work on Thursday. I got there around 4:00 PM and asked if they would look at my brakes since my brakes had been squealing. I figured I would have to schedule a appointment but Shawn, at the Northglenn store, said, "No we can fit you in right now." After a little time has passed, Shawn came in and told me my brakes were about to go metal on metal. That didn't surprised me the way my brakes were squealing. Shawn told me my rotors could be turned one more time but the next brake job they would have to be replaced. That didn't surprise me either. I have 2003 Nissan Altima with over 203,800 miles on it. I had Brakes Plus do the brake work. Towards the end of the appointment, Shawn came in and said, Good news, Ryan. I'm giving you two new back rotors because yours are shot." I thanked him for his customer service. He replied, "I wouldn't have felt safe with you driving on those old trashed rotors. While I was sitting there waiting I also looked up coupons for brakes on my phone. I found a $20 off brake pads coupon. So not only did I get a manger discount for the back rotors but also $20 off brake coupon! This is where Brakes Plus customer service excels. I did call a competitor for a quote on the phone earlier during the week and they told me brakes would be any where from $800 to $900 dollars depending on brake pads, rotors, and calipers. I don't know about you but I'm not spending $900 dollars on brakes. You can if you want to, but I have better things to spend my money on. Brakes Plus saved me $362. The parts were reasonable and the labor costs were reasonable. read more

I can smell an up-sell a mile away. Most of the time I get the service done on my F150 at the Ford dealer. The last time I had an oil change, the Ford dealer said my rear brakes needed replacing. I specifically asked the Ford dealer if the rear rotors were serviceable - meaning they would only need resurfacing (cheaper) and not full replacement (expensive). I thought I'd save a few bucks and get them done at Brakes Plus. I told Brakes Plus on 104th that the Ford dealer had determined the rear rotors only needed resurfacing, not replacing. Brakes Plus called me later saying the rear rotors needed replacing. Cost was $405. Brakes Plus at 104th WOULD NOT resurface the rear rotors saying they measured the rotors and they needed to be replaced. I told them to forget it - I would just pick up the truck and have the Ford dealer do the work.. Today I had the rear brakes replaced at the Ford dealer. They resurfaced the rotors - no rear rotor replacement needed, and they did the normal pad replacement. Total cost $207 which included a $40 mail in rebate. For those who really don't understand about car repair, please get a 2nd opinion before you get ANY work done at ANY garage, BUT STAY FAR AWAY from these Brakes Plus folks at 104th. They have lost a customer, AND gained ANOTHER BAD review. How much is that worth? Apparently, they have had enough success up-selling customers that they find it profitable to continue doing so. Went to get a diagnoses done by them for my check engine light being on. They diagnosed it to be 700 dollars to replace both of my oxygen sensors. I told them to hold off for lack of money reasons. Everything seemed fine except I was confused when they told me that one of my oxygen sensors had ripped wires and that they were going to have to replace the wires and the sensor on one and replace just the sensor on the other. A little off put by that, I called other repair shops to get quotes. I found one place that did it for a more reasonable price but before I went there I wanted to check and see if I could get the priced lowered at all by brakes plus, they quoted me 750 the second time. (weird right?) Long story short, I got the repairs done by another repair shop and when I asked them about the "ripped wires" they told me that there where no ripped wires at all and that someone (either brakes plus or someone else) had taken the wires out of the sensor. So, either they didn't know that they weren't ripped (which I highly doubt) or they took them out themselves to charge me more for the repair. Needless to say, I was not satisfied with the service I received from them. read more

If I could go into minus numbers I would. I took my vehicle to this shop. Yes the one at 1300 e 104th Ave. Well I will give you the short version of my horror story with this shop as well as company. I took my car into this so called repair shop which I do believe there is no one there To do a proper repair but no business ethics. This company after I told them the problem found that the problem was on the other side of the motor. So after I okayed the repairs thinking this was an honest company they called me back to say there was another problem. Of course this was right where I pointed it out to them when I had brought the vehicle to them. Now they soaked me for 1400 and change for these repairs. Which should have run no more then 300 if they did a proper diagnostics. And that was permitted because when they first got the vehicle they told me if we do the repairs we will fold it into the cost of the repairs. Please so do not believe this they want your money bad enough to lie in my opinion. They will take you for a ride. Well the short version is this. Since the first repair they have had to replace my motor as well as I have had them replace 3 water pumps. 2 timing chains and 2 thermostats. and I got a used motor at that. I had no say in what they could do to my auto. And now I have a car I can not trust. The motor heats up all the time. And it never got this hot till they touched my car. I am not making this up. I was trying to allow them to fix this problem but they choose to ignore it. Honestly I would not go to them for air in my tire. I can tell you I have been in contact With several people for this company. 1 said he was the district manager Another said he was the boss of all the people for Colorado and I do have their names am I will not use them I just believed what they told me. It very well could have been a janitor as far as I know. I contacted these people thinking i could get this resolved and i contacted them in the middle of July. Since then i have had no one from this company contact me. This is how they treat their costumers. Please heed my warning and stay away. I will not rate this company because they do not have a negative number. Also not a professional in the bunch..
