When there selling a car for a low budget car salesman or dealer they don't put the full description. just know of the cars don't match the description or have more things wrong it's an arbitration and can be returned. This car said running only dents and scratches, they took pictures that without a magnifier you cant see any rips or anything. Plus is loud as soon as you start it, how do you miss an exhaust leak in a Honda?

Last but not least, I would recommend eating before attending this auction, because the food offered here was EXTREMELY high.... I understand you have to make your money back, but $10 for a burger and $7 for a hot dog should be illegal, even if it did include a small bag of chips and can soda.

This place is well worth a long trip. In addition to tobacco baskets left from its old existence (on sale for around $5 each), the place is chock a block with furniture, tools and restaurant equipment. I bought a solid ash mid century modern table with expandable leaf and three chairs for $50. I also bought a solid pine Amish hutch that I am now using as a plant hutch for $125. Dave the owner also runs Golden Oak Auctions, and can help sell your old furniture and stuff. The Barn also hosts about a dozen antique merchants who seems to uniformly have high quality stuff. In fact, a couple of them have told me this is where they store and fix their stuff before they move it on to their antique stores in Maryland and Virginia. Overall, if you like antique shops and flea markets you have to go there. There is also an Amish stand with vegetables, fruits and cheese for sale.

I came here yesterday to look at a used van, and this place was a complete bust. The van I was…read morelooking at was a used contractor's van, about 20 years old and having about 200,000 miles. I have bought a comparable used van in the past with no problems, but from a private seller. I did not like the way they held my driver's license while I took the van for a test ride. My driver's license is the property of the state of Virginia and not them. They give you a printout with a photocopy of your driver's license and the car's plate number. I don't know if this was legal or not. Thankfully I did not get pulled over. While I was test driving the vehicle, the tread came off of the right rear tire. As soon as I heard the loud banging, I immediately pulled over and called them. They picked me up and another guy drove the van back to the dealership with the tire tread still dangling off the vehicle. I saw some red flags before the test drive. There was a white sticker on the windshield saying "rejection." Visible from inside the vehicle, the back of the sticker lists all of the major car systems like brakes, steering, etc. None of the systems were checked off indicating what caused the vehicle to be rejected, or by whom the vehicle was rejected (the previous owner?). None of the vehicles had the safety inspection sticker or plates with the month and year tags on the license plates (this would let you know if the safety or emissions inspections have expired yet). The rear doors of the van were wired shut. The floor of the back of the van had several holes rusted through it. I would never trust that floor to carry a heavy load. The brakes, steering, and suspension seemed to be okay. The air conditioning was not working. The van never should have been presented for sale. I believe they wanted $2200 or $2500. The communication was very poor. I had to confirm once by phone, once by e-mail, and three times by text message that I would show at the time I told them I would be there. Sure enough, I showed up for my appointment at the predetermined time. My advice when buying a used vehicle is to pay cash and buy the vehicle from a private party. That is how I have bought used vehicles in the past, and it seems to work. Make sure the vehicle's safety and emissions inspections have not expired yet (emissions inspections are for two years, safety inspections are for one year). What a waste of time.

I was getting frustrated, but Beth took care of the situation, made sure they found the car and I got out of there, while with a significant wait, with everything I needed to get my auto life back together after the accident. Don't get me wrong, the whole thing was a pain in the a$$, but Beth was awesome and is quite an asset to IAAI. Subesquently she even mailed me items I had left in the car and forgot. Thank you Beth and thank you IAAI for hiring such stand-up employees.
