They knowingly and deliberately scammed me out of thousands of dollars by adding products to my loan that I explicitly rejected multiple times. Before signing any paperwork, I told both the General Sales Manager and Finance Manager - not once, not twice, but three separate times - that I did NOT want any extended warranty or GAP insurance. They assured me everything was clean, showed me paperwork with no mention of those products, and I trusted them. That was a huge mistake. A few months later, I reviewed my loan statement and discovered they had slipped in both an extended warranty and GAP coverage into my financing without my knowledge or consent. That is deceptive, unethical, and borderline criminal. When I went back to confront them, they made me wait 30 minutes only to tell me to "call the Finance Manager." I called three separate times -- every time I was told he "wasn't available." I emailed their accounting department three times -- not a single response. This is clearly how they operate: ignore the customer, stonewall, and hope the problem goes away. To make it even worse, they also tacked on a $100 "car wash" charge without ever disclosing it. 1-Star Review -- Buyer Beware Misrepresentation, Repairs, and Significant Out-of-Pocket Costs I had an extremely stressful experience purchasing a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon from Auto Buying Service. Prior to purchasing, I clearly and repeatedly stated that I did not want a used vehicle with major mechanical issues. I was assured multiple times that the vehicle was well maintained, previously owned by someone who "took great care of it," and that it only needed routine service and new tires. Within days of purchase, I took the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria for Service B. Their inspection revealed multiple serious mechanical issues, including a leaking rear main seal with a repair estimate of over $8,000, along with additional issues bringing the total estimated repairs to over $15,000. Although the vehicle was sold as-is, this is not buyer's remorse -- it is misrepresentation of the vehicle's condition at the time of sale. After significant back-and-forth, the dealership agreed to cover the rear main seal repair. However, I was still required to pay $2,000 out of pocket for that repair, on top of numerous serious mechanical issues such as: * Rear main seal failure * Tie rod replacement * Steering damper issues * Rear shark fin replacement * Brakes and rotors * Alignment * Additional mechanical concerns that should not surface so soon after purchase This entire process was exhausting and emotionally draining. Communication was delayed, defensive, and lacked transparency. At no point was there proactive accountability or full disclosure prior to the sale. Buying a vehicle at this price point should come with honesty and clear communication. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I strongly recommend that potential buyers obtain an independent inspection BEFORE purchase and not rely solely on verbal assurances. Worst customer service on earth. I bought a car from them February 26. Here it is March 25 and I still have not received my hard tags. When I purchased the car I was told to get my inspection and they would mail the tags. I was also told someone from finance would call me about setting up my warranty. Neither has happened!! I have called 3 time a week since purchasing the car and each time I'm told someone will call me back and they never do. The girl who always answers the phone (They said her name was Linda but I don't believe them) she is very rude dismissive and disrespectful and most importantly she is of NO HELP! She always says she doesn't have any answers because she's in sales and will have someone call back. Why is she answering the phone if she can offer no assistance?! I have been extremely patient with these people for the entire month while awaiting to receive my tags. I went ahead and found a warranty elsewhere because they never called me back to set one up. I don't believe "Linda" ever passed the information along. As I mentioned before my tags expire tomorrow so today was the day my patience ran out. I called and "Linda" answered again and was telling me someone would call me back. This time I asked for more details. I explained to her my tags expire tomorrow so I need to know when someone would be calling me back. She rudely interrupted me and said "bro I can't wit this" and slammed the phone down! I have never experienced this type of customer service! I'm trying to get my tags which expire tomorrow what the heck is she frustrated for? I called back and a guy answered this time. I went off! Now he says they will be overnighting the tags. I'm not confident in that but it's truly sad u have to go off on these folks to get them to do their job! When I was there purchasing my vehicle, a guy stormed in and was cussing the staff out about not receiving his tags. That should have been a red flag. I also traded my jeep in when purchasing the new car. They were suppose to pay off the jeep but here we are a month later and it's still saying I owe for the jeep. They keep saying not to worry about it but needless to say I'm extremely worried about it and I have no faith that they took care of it on their end. Other things I'm irritated by with this purchase is when we test drove the car. The trunk didn't open fully and the salesmen assured me it was programmed to open the way it did and could be reprogrammed to open as far as u like. Well turns out that is a feature of the car but this particular one is broke. So he lied. There was a caution notification to check windshield wiper fluid. He explained it was just low and they would fill it up. They did. Well by the time I got home the notification was back on. Turns out there is a leak with the windshield fluid. So he lied again. U buy the car as is so it is what it is but he could have been honest. I was still gon buy the car. This has been one of the worst car buying experiences of my life! I do love my car despite its flaws that I was unaware of and lied to about but they really need to do better in the customer service department. It's like u can't get anything done over the phone. Whoever answers just tells u anything to get u off the phone. No one calls u back and no one really seem to be much help. They all sound like children and when u ask for a manager u are jus passed to another one of them. This place is a joke! NEVER AGAIN! If u purchase a car from them be sure to stay on top of them with ur tags, paying off trade in or whatever u may need from them. A few years later and my suspicion of these guys slapping together a "low mileage" van / rolling the odometer back had finally come to fruition. Brought my sprinter into a Mercedes dealership, and when it was scanned, the ECU reported 50k more miles than the odometer had read. These guys are HELLA SHADY. Bought a Qx80 from this dealer 27 days ago, my paper tags expire on the April 7th, I've called numerous times asking where are my hard tags, when I called Monday the 31st, a young lady said she was looking for my tags, put me hold, said she couldn't find them and she would call me back when they show up. Called today April 4th, was left on hold the 1st time for 10mins, hung up and called the second time, on hold for 40mins all the way until they closed at 7pm. This is the worst customer service I've ever received from a car dealership. Please do not do business with this dealership. I was asked to co-sign for a family member back in March (which I never do and now you'll see why). Unfortunately, I relented and decided to help out because the salesperson stated she was $5000.00 short in her approval. So, I figured I could live with a $5000.00 loan on my record. HE lied once he saw that my credit score was over 800, a 24,995.00 vehicle with a $349.00 car note was submitted to their financial institution for over $36,000.00 AFTER the paperwork was signed. I was the only person on the paperwork, not as a co-signer, but the actual purchaser. I questioned why my niece wasn't signing the documents and the salesperson stated her portion had already been completed. I have never co-signed for a vehicle and was not familiar with the process. I refused to pay for full coverage insurance or submit a $599.00 car note payment for a car that wasn't mine. So, my credit score is now in the low 600's. I demanded my niece return the vehicle which she did, and she was advised at the dealership it didn't matter at that point because she was going to pay for it no matter what!! The Langley Credit union has been advised on numerous occasions about the transaction and yet they refuse to assist. I have been reading some of the other reviews and there is no way SOMEONE at the credit union is not involved in these scams. My wife and I bought a car here at the end of March 2023. We had bought three cars here previously and had a very good experience. Unfortunately, the business had been sold and is now under new management. They sold us a car that had been in a number of accidents, but they told us that it had not been in an accident. They said the CarFax report was not available. We were foolish enough to trust them. Subsequently we found out that one of the accidents was a front-end collision. The repairs were inadequate. There was minor stuff, such as having to replace the lines to the windshield sprayers, having to buy car mats- (they didn't come with the car) - and having to buy an owner's manual (it didn't come with one). Also, there was only one key fob. There was bigger stuff - the air conditioning didn't work. They had contaminated the freon by adding incompatible freon. We had to go to the dealership and have the freon completely drained and replaced. Then we had the failed turn signal which turned out be a $2,500 replacement job at the dealership for the whole headlamp assembly. All told, a very unsatisfactory experience for a car that had less than 30K miles. We would never ever buy a vehicle from ABS again. We are not sure what else is going to fail. If we had known the car was in an accident, we might not have bought the car at all or would have tried to negotiate the price way down. Stay away from ABS! read more

DO NOT BUY. This was the worst experience I have had purchasing a Mercedes. I have bought multiple Mercedes from boutique dealers over the past 20 years. This transaction was for a GLE 350. The customer service was horrible, and the sales transaction was filled with errors. They tried to short me on my trade in and not provide credit for the payment I made to hold the car. READ EVERY PAGE BEFORE YOU SIGN. Additionally, I had to make multiple trips to finalize the purchase. They didn't follow through on any of the commitments they made during the transaction. I was assured they would make arrangements for the plates to transfer, when I arrived it was NOT completed and they told me to go the DMV, after spending $$$$$ on the car and having multiple conversations. I regret the purchase and if I could return the car I would; all they want is the commission from the sale. Note, I also had a trade in which they gave me 13K for and it is now listed for sale on website for $30K. Trust all of these reviews that you're reading and know that none of these "deals" are going to workout in your favor. My husband and I just drove from out of state, 5 hours to purchase the 2014 Mercedes G63 they currently have on their lot. We already had some concerns as there are various rust spots on the vehicle that are not just surface rust. They wouldn't take off more than $1000 for that despite me already getting quotes and it going to cost atleast $2000. We were willing to overlook that as we felt it was otherwise a good deal. Got here and got in to test drive it and immediately 4 messages displayed on the dash and it was very obviously jerking from 1st to 2nd gear. We brought it to our sales persons attention and he said we'd figure something out. We get back from the test drive and the "sales manager" comes out and says he has a service manager on the phone to "explain" what's going on. To which I asked "so you guys knew it was doing this and let us drive 10 hours round trip???" He said he "just found out about it from our sales person." But they looked it up within 45 seconds of us being back and supposedly knew what was wrong with it already.. yeah probably because the knew about it previously. I find it VERY VERY hard to believe these lights just magically came on during our test drive. They said they'd take another $1000 off and we declined as it's very likely to go into limp mode on our 5 hour drive home. They asked what deal we could come to and when I told them, the sales manager started interrupting me very aggressively telling me to show him where a better deal is on the market and acted offended and angry that they were called out. He was shouting at this point to which I responded and he told me he'd have me trespassed from their property. So their managers are allowed to YELL at customers, and the customers are the problem. Take all of the preconceived notions about dealerships and then multiply it by ten and it still won't amount to how grimey and dirty these people are. first i gave a decent review, but now a few weeks in not good. In the beginning i inquired about a 2018 challenger R/t . This automated text(named Linda) kept contacting me about it which i assumed was a live person but never actually met the person in real life. I did ask about Linda but was told by sean the individual just helps them get sales. The dealer initially had two of the same cars listed(still til' this day the other one with less mileage is listed) . I inquired about the one with less mileage. Sean the salesman said it wasn't in good condition and it was sold . I let it go. As a result the car i test drove seemed good. Although the back up camera did not work and it had higher mileage but it was good. So I tried to see was the sale negotiable i was turned down told the price was firm. (Even though i was dealing with Sean another salesman invaded on my attempted negotiation)They took off 500 dollars because i was a veteran. So at first i was asked if i was going to take the 2year warranty, no transparency was given about the price of the warranty or if the warranty was officially dodge the process of the warranty after purchase or anything . I was under the assumption it was dodge because i was told by the salesman if something goes wrong i can take it to dodge. I buy the car with 1 year "warranty" 1/31/24. Fast forward to going home a week and a half later I found out the warranty is third party. I found this out after cleaning the car and further inspection of the tires which were worn down/mismatched . I can get my own third party warranty without paying 3k out of pocket upfront as part of the sale. So i called the warranty company (proguard) the customer service rep told me that they had not received the payment for the warranty and only half my information was sent over. This was Friday (2/9/24) i called ABS and Sean, both gave me the run around like they were too busy to help me out. Also tag/license did not work Friday.Saturday or Sunday. I wait until Monday (2/12/24)call again, was told tag/license wouldn't be in until 11am. I wait until after 11am to call to cancel the warranty and get an update on my license/registration transfer. The young lady tried to tell me they have to wait until proguard returns the money to give back to my finance company. (She did cancel it so i giver her credit for that.) I said how ?when proguard doesn't have the money so at this point we are at a disagreement. Also even though i sent my information with the car getting inspected she never started the transfer process either. Because the salesman sean never notified her in addition when she finally checked the email apparently it wasn't "legible". On top that after the sale they got "busy" neglecting the fact l'm still a customer . My argument is that i have to be in their face to get business done because on the phone your an after thought. So now i have to go back down to Virginia to get the ball rolling ( I am from Philadelphia) please don't do business with these people they are a scam and will try different tactics to swindle you. Negligence, disrespect and the customer service is bad after the sale is done. They ask you to give them a good review during your natural high of getting a new car. You know how there's that stereotype of "used car salesman"? Well Auto Buying Service really lived up to that, and it's such a shame. 1) Their prices were NOT negotiable and they also reminded us that their cars aren't the best deals because "no one wants to buy the cheapest car on the market." Also, they do NOT guarantee that the car will pass Maryland Inspection (unlike other dealerships in the area). 2) They will treat you like you are an idiot. We were looking for a Dodge Ram that was around a certain price range so that we could keep our car payment around a reasonable amount. However, they kept saying things like, "it's all just numbers" and refusing to explain how much the vehicle would ACTUALLY cost. Luckily, we can do basic math on our own. 3) They are really fast talkers and will try to talk over you when you explain what you actually want. They also wanted my boyfriend to sign a piece of paper with numbers on it, and seemed offended when he refused. 4) After we told them that we wanted to negotiate because we saw newer trucks at other places with lower prices, they got VERY MAD and started belittling us. They raised their voices and started saying, "well why are you even here then!?" and "ohhh well you should just go THERE!" and "good luck finding a better deal" - It made me so uncomfortable that I just stood up and started walking toward the door. We had been car shopping all day and this, by far, was the WORST EXPERIENCE out of all the dealerships we visited. Car buying is already very stressful, but they kept talking to us like we were children. We walked away feeling like we just escaped being tricked by sleazy car salesmen. After calling ahead, went to check out a 2007 15 passenger van, looked good on the outside but serious issues on the inside. Flooring was a hand cut piece of indoor/outdoor carpeting set in place to cover the original floor. When lifted up the original floor was falling apart and had not even been cleaned of trash and wrappers. While checking out the floor noticed one of the bench seats was loose. When inspected further realized that none of the bench rows were anchored (or could be) to the floor at all, just set in place. I told the salesperson I needed the van to transport kids for a camp and despite having shown him all these problems he said it ran well and maybe he could give me a discount. They were willing to sell a camp a van that had no seats that were anchored to the floor. Criminal!! No disclosure when I called for a passenger van that the seats don't work. 2 hours roundtrip wasted. Their Carfax also showed 1 owner but sold 3 times and that the vehicle had passed MD safety inspection but no information on where the inspection was done. Shady! This place is only looking to make a buck. read more

Also, I love how all of these 5 star reviews are all from "Yelpers" with zero Yelp friends and minimal reviews posted... Anyways-- I just had the WORSE experience of my life in regards to car shopping and price negotiating. I found a 2010 TSX. I was interested and the salesman named Haseeb Wais (spelling?) was my go-to guy for this car. I test drove it and liked it. It was listed for $x. I told him I could not afford that so we went back and forth. He called me 2 days later and claimed he has a great relationship with the previous owners (the current owner is Craig) and that he would ask the previous owners (because the TSX is apparently from their old inventory, not the new owner), if they can reduce the price me for since I am on a budget. He told this heartfelt story about how the owners would appreciate a young adult with priorities who is trying to save money to buy her own house and how he made 3 huge car sales for them so he would ask them to do this one favor for him, and blah blah blah. He even offered to give me HIS cash commission if I financed through them to put towards my car purchase! On Saturday night at 8:30PM, Haseeb texted me and said he got the owners to agree to reduce the price and we AGREED on $x. Haseeb was on speaker and I have someone else who heard this AS WELL. Haseeb said the shop is not open on Sundays but would try to open it to close the sale, and if he was unable to do this, we can meet on Monday. I texted Haseeb on Sunday afternoon to ask if we were meeting up and no reply. I called him Monday morning and he did not pick up my call. I left a voicemail. No reply still. I called the shop and spoke to the current owner, Craig, and explained my situation. Craig said he would find out and call me back. NO CALL FOR 2 HOURS. Unprofessional ALL AROUND. I called Craig back and he put me on hold for 7 MINUTES. I hung up and then Haseeb decided to conveniently call me a minute after ONLY TO DENY THAT WE AGREED ON $x. He denied and lied through his teeth. I am not deaf. I know what I heard. Why else would he avoid my texts and calls for 2 days?! This place is unprofessional and rude as hell. Please avoid this place at ALL COSTS. I am so frustrated that I wasted my time here. The worst. Thank you for wasting my time and reaffirming my skepticism on small private dealers as being unprofessional and completely untrustworthy. I purchased a truck in March. It's now almost July and I still don't have a registration or title. Zero stars.

FRAUD ALERT!!!!! FRAUD ALERT!!!! This review should be 0 stars as the owners of this place are scam artists and are in the business of creating fraudulent paperwork to oversell their products. I purchased a vehicle here in December of 2019 as well as a 5 year/100,000 mile extended vehicle warranty ($4000 extra). Fast forward to 3/4/21. I take my vehicle to the MB dealership to get regular maintenance to find that my timing covers were leaking oil. Ok no problem, I have the extended warranty and based on the criteria of the repairs, it will be covered under that said warranty. The dealership calls in the claim to the warranty company to find the warranty is not valid because this company (ABS) never funded it. I call the warranty company myself to be told the original dealership (ABS) never purchased the warranty. YES THEY CHARGED ME $4000, CREATED FRAUDULENT PAPERWORK, AND NEVER PURCHASED THE WARRANTY. I then called to the dealership to try to get to the bottom of it, only to be told I needed to speak to the owner James. I made contact with him that same day, 3/5, he asked that I text him all of my information, and he advised he would return my call the next day. Saturday. By Monday, I did not receive that call and called again to leave a message. No answer, no return phone call. I called again the next day, and text, no answer. On Tuesday, 3/9, I got my partner to call and speak to him. Of course he answered immediately. He buttered him up and told him how he would take care of his customer and he'll make it right etc. At this point, my truck has been in the shop for 4 days and repairs that should have been covered under this warranty in the amount of $2400 were performed. I need my car. The repairs were completed and I received a bill for $2400. James also asked that we send him a copy of the repairs that were done at the MB dealership and he'd see what he could do to make it right. We text him screenshots of the repair bill and confirmation of payment. Crickets. Called the next day to confirm receipt and discuss further, no answer. Fast forward to Monday 3/15, I reached out again via phone and text to ask about status of the warranty issue and the now $2400 that I had to pay out of pocket to fix the leaking oil. No answer. No response. My partner reached out,l via phone and text, no answer, no response! This dealership and it's owner have created fraudulent paperwork to make it appear as it I had a warranty, charged me for it, and have failed to uphold their financial obligation as it applies to this said extended warranty that I purchased from them. They'll be hearing from my lawyer, because this is more then ridiculous. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP, UNLESS YOU ALSO WANT THEM TO DEFRAUD YOU AND CHARGE YOU FOR SERVICES THEY NEVER INTEND TO PROVIDE! read more

Wow, totally exceeded my expectations for a car buying business! I recently sold my car using the USAA dealer offer service, and this was the place that made the highest offer. The offer was very fair, and when I brought my car in, Moses recognized the car immediately and got me started on paper work while he took a look at the car. I was expecting some haggling band nitpicking over the price and car condition, but after finishing my paper work, a staff member brought be a check for the offer amount. Absolutely no hassle, and we were in and out in about 15 minutes. People were super nice and service was really efficient. The location is all the way in the back of a parking lot - there are lots of signs pointing you in the right direction. This was the best experience I have ever had in buying a car. I highly recommend this company to anyone for both price and service. I originally started looking for a new car. However, dealing with the dealerships was horrible. They took an hour to show a single car, and I was looking at multiple models. I stopped looking and saw Auto Buying Services advertisement on Craigs list. I was curious and did some research before visiting. When I got there the sales man queried me about what I was looking for. Then took 8 car keys out to the lot for me to get in the cars and test drive in the lot. I was then able to narrow my choice down to two cars. He then took the time to get licenses and give me a test drive off the lot. I ended up getting a car that was half the price I was looking for, and the salesman handled my purchase as if I was buying one of the high end cars. I really can't say enough about this company, and it will be where I purchase all my cars in the future. They are just good people. read more

Bottom line upfront - I had a very good experience at Auto Buying Service. I needed to purchase a car for my 84 year old dad and I had one week over New Years week to do it. I did about 40 hours of online research. ABS had good quality local one-owner vehicles and the prices were good given the condition of the cars. Roger and the owner and the entire staff were friendly and there was absolutely no pressure or puffery. We test drove several cars and they were in good shape and had been serviced. Found one we liked, brought it to a local mechanic to check and he said the car had been serviced and was in good shape. They offer a warranty on the vehicles and were as nice as can be. Going in I had literally dreaded bringing my dear old dad through a used car buying experience but it turned out to be efficient, easy with no pressure. Background: Im a used car nerd. Ive always read Consumer Reports car reviews quarterly for 30 years. In the past I have been able to purchase used cars from private owners using Carfax, a lot of research and my reasonably good auto mechanic ability. That was before cash for clunkers. Over the past several years used car costs have skyrocketed. I used to be able to get a reliable car for under 5k (with my ability to do minor repairs). Now you are lucky to get a vehicle that will pass inspection for under $6k. So with the stakes for a used car much higher now buying from a private owner is a greater risk. Still possible but there are far fewer private sales these days. I picked the make, model and year(s) based on Consumer Reports and online owner/repair forums. When I found the cars I wanted in our area I started to look at dealership ratings on Yelp and other sources. Most reviews for dealerships were bad across the board. Auto Buying Service stood out with a lot of 5 star ratings. Like everyone I am very skeptical about used car dealers but based on the data I chose their lot first and stayed when I got there. I actually decided 'where' I purchased was as important as what I purchased. Really glad we went to ABS. read more

I had a very good experience here. I have a 2009 Nissan Versa which I don't like. It needs nearly $2,000 in repairs, general maintenance, inspection, and emission etc. I still have three years left on my loan. Mike & Roger made my experience totally stress-free. Nice comfortable lighting in the office, let me drive alone to my mechanic and printed me out a complete offer. Their trade-in value was slightly less than the big guys. The price on the car, without my pay out on the Versa was a great deal. However, we were not able to get financing on a gorgeous and sound 2008 VW Jetta because my pay out amount put it out of the range for a bank to offer a loan.Banks will only loan up to a certain amount per make, model, year and mileage. All in all, I have to either put money into the Nissan, a car I don't like, or take the offer on a newer car at a big dealership. Yet, I will happily refer this wonderful group to anyone who is looking to sell or buy a used car. I really wish I could have gotten a car from ABS! If they had a 2010 or newer Jetta, I would have chosen to buy from them, today! read more

Most of their inventory is a "bait and switch". We called about 4 different cars, all of them happened to be "pending sales with large deposits" etc. I asked if I can just come in to look at the cars, not even open the doors and get in or drive, but the salesman explained that, "that's extremely impossible", which I guess is more than impossible? Strict rules against looking at cars that are listed for sale online, according to our sales person. He did have some good news though - "many other identical cars in stock" lol. So to give you one example of many, they had a 2018 Benz C300, with no accidents, 24k miles, listed for $22k, which is not unfortunately pending a sale, where a guy left a giant deposit and is gonna pay cash etc., but what is available is an identical 2018 Benz C300, a couple of minor accidents, 68k miles, for only $27k! So car with more than twice the milage, that has been in a collision, for $5k more. Makes sense! Just to make sure I wasn't writing a bad review based on one single salesman, and one single car, we went through the same exact process with a different salesman, with a Lexus and an Audi. So they can't say it's a isolated incident. While most car dealers are not known for their supreme level of honestly, this is taking things to a whole different level, in 2022, where fact-checking is simply a matter of a couple of phone calls and 10 minutes of research online... read more

Now, I have the same car for sale now and they emailed me asking to fill out the form and the price is just a slap in the face. Not satisfied. I do not recommend using ABS. The car that we bought not only needed new brake pads when inspected in MD($300), but also the engine is now giving trouble the car has been at the dealership for a week now (4 months after buying it). We were assured the car was in tip top condition and that the buy was a great deal, but that ultimately turned out to be pretty far from the truth. If you are looking for straight shooters about a used car, I recommend looking elsewhere. read more
