During my daughter's 14th birthday celebration, staff members engaged in unprofessional behavior that caused significant emotional distress. An employee disregarded my parental instructions and pressured my daughter to try on inappropriate clothing sizes while making hurtful comments regarding her body image, specifically telling her she needed to "lose 15 pounds." Furthermore, staff provided age-inappropriate clothing to an 8-year-old child in our group and encouraged her to model it in front of adult male spectators. This occurred despite my specific instructions to the contrary. When a male adult was asked to leave, employees instead encouraged his presence, creating a highly inappropriate and unsafe environment for minors. As a registered nurse specializing in pediatric emergency psychiatric trauma, I recognize these actions as psychological harassment. This experience triggered a severe anxiety attack for my daughter and has resulted in ongoing depression and social isolation. The interaction occurred in a co-ed dressing area where staff actively encouraged male patrons in their 40s who were not purchasing items to observe, compromising my children's safety and privacy. I have recorded evidence of these interactions and will act accordingly depending on your response with this information and willing to assist amicably. However, I have a duty to the public and act and respond like a prudent and competent nurse. It's an easy thing for me to address but understand the company would never support those employees choosing to represent crimes against children and respected professionals. I am requesting a formal review of this incident and a prompt explanation of the corrective actions being taken. I shop with Anthropologie frequently and spend a significant amount online because my work schedule doesn't allow me much time to shop in stores. Like many customers, I order multiple sizes and styles online because sizing can vary so much. Yesterday, I went into the Town & Country store to return a jacket and a pair of pants. I was immediately told they were final sale, which I knew was incorrect. Instead of helping me, the associate argued with me until a manager became involved. The entire interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. The most frustrating part involved a pair of sandals I purchased at full price for $168. After wearing them for only a couple of hours, a portion of the footbed began lifting. I brought them in because they were clearly defective and expected an exchange or replacement. Instead, I was told the shoes would be damaged out, but I would still have to purchase a brand-new pair. That made absolutely no sense to me. If a product is defective, why would the customer be required to pay again for the same item? Throughout the entire visit, I felt like I was being judged simply because I had returns. Unfortunately, this isn't the first uncomfortable experience my husband and I have had at this location. I understand that retail employees deal with returns every day, but online shopping and returns are part of today's retail environment. Customers should never feel like an inconvenience for following the store's return process. This was, without question, the worst customer service experience I've had at an Anthropologie store, and because of it, I will not return to the Town & Country location.
