The children in the theatre dance class put on a performance once a month for the seniors and children who cannot afford tution are never turned away. There are many scholorships availible. The director is attentive to the children and truley cares for them. If you get out of your car and socialize with everyone you would know that it isnt clickish. My daughter has been dancing here for over 10 years and we loved it right from the start! Gail and the entire staff are wonderful talented group of people! My daughter was able to take what she learned from her Brooklyn Dance Center Family and use it to get into Bay Academy for dance, when she went to Edward R Murrow HS the dance teacher was highly impressed at her dancing skills. Using the skills she learned at The Brooklyn Dance Center she was able to secure a spot on the Brooklyn Cyclones Dance Team for the last three years. The Brooklyn Dance Center has given her the opportunity not just to dance in their annual Christmas show and their amazing end of the year recital but she was able to take part in outside shows with the Brooklyn Dance Center Ensemble. The program includes music, dance, arts & crafts, and Spanish - and our kid is actually learning every day, coming home with handmade art projects and spouting new Spanish words. The teachers are not just babysitters, not by any means - they are talented and interested in their subject matter. There are just a few kids for each teacher, so everyone receives personal attention. It's a fantastic way to enrich our kid's education, and we're grateful to have found a program that adds so much value and also gives us flexibility in our working schedules. I know this sounds like a particularly effusive review, but rest assured that we received no compensation of any kind for it.
