I came here to officiate a New Jersey High school indoor track meet this past week. This facility is approximately six years old and it was a very well-run meet. The place has two levels and I believe they are going to be putting an indoor pool in the next year. There are weight rooms and I believe there's a membership fee which is pretty cheap for a year, assuming you live in the borough. Parking is ample. And security is very tight. Refreshment stand is well-run. Bathrooms clean.

Had a chance to visit this facility to run in a cross country race event recently. We used the outdoors grounds adjacent to the building and it's pretty nice. Ran a five mile race on grass, dirt, gravel, and much trails. Nice scenery including ponds on site. There were also porta pottys to use. Well laid out and marked course There is a covered parking garage on site, and parking lot across the street.

[Same as my previous 5/9/2021 review; just added pictures] For the price, this recreational center is OK. This facility is a two-floor building with the top level dedicated to a large track field, four ping pong tables, concession shops, and vending machines. The bottom floor contains: a smaller track field; small fitness rooms with kettlebells and resistance bands, cardio room with 12 (read Cons) treadmills, 6+ ellipticals, dip station, rowing machines, cycling machines, and other kinds of resistance machines designed for high intensity interval training (HIIT); and a weight-lifting room with a power rack, sets of dumbbells ranging from 5 lbs - 50 lbs, and many different resistance machines (cable station, leg press, chest press, etc.). - Pros: very spacious indoor track, lots of resistance training equipment (both machine and free weight), ping pong tables, price, well cleaned, friendly enough staff Cons: closed for most of the days of the months from December to February for track and field competitions. Extremely limited parking especially during after-work hours during winter on the days that this gym is opened for all. There were times where I circled and waited over 25 minutes until I got an available parking spot. Additionally, on those days, the weight room was packed and so was the cardio room ... meaning have to wait long for available machines. Not worth coming during the winter months. Tiny weight room... ~ 20' x 20', only 1 power rack (doubles as the only bench press), limited dumbbells (up to 50 lbs as mentioned). 12 treadmills sound great? Until you find out half of them are broken and take months (if ever) to get replaced or repaired. Price: * Free for under 18 * $25/year for 18 to 24 * $100/year for 25 to 61 * $25/year for 62 5/10. Decent gym for the price, but awful and very low availability for 3 months out of the year.

If you sign up before the end of the year, it's a free one year membership. This is not, by any means, a comprehensive gym. They have a decent amount of weights, machines, and studio space, but cumulatively those spaces are on the smaller side. There usually aren't that many people so the space is pleasant enough to utilize. Make sure you check the schedule for that day because they will have random closed days or early closures.

Very very nice facility, I came to Staten Island for the 2019 indoor track championships. This place is clean and ran well, it's such a beautiful facility. I enjoyed a 3 day weekend here, daily logistics ran smoothly and the areas stayed clean including the bathrooms. All the staff were friendly and provided support the whole time. Usatf couldn't have picked a better facility than ocean breeze until 2020.....

Great place.. great instructors. I belong to another gym as well so the closures during track season don't bother me.

Games are fairly priced and they also have promotions, discounts etc. Seating not as strict as the MLB parks... sit in your section/seat and can move around if seats are not occupied during the game. Not a very huge park so can easily walk around before the game to look around. Plenty of food options - just decide on what you want to eat. Get a view of Luna Park from one corner of the park. Good times had by all and some nights they do have fireworks as well. Safety is important - during batting practice and the game, pay attention at all times as the balls do come flying across. If leaving by car, might want to head out a bit earlier as it does take awhile from the parking lot. Just remember where you parked the car!

Front desk staff was super friendly and informative. The museum itself isn't very big and I Probably took about 30 minutes to view it. Id say the admission although suggested was definitely worth it. For me though Id say the architecture of the building itself both inside and out was more interesting to me than the exhibits themselves. Who knew Staten Island had such a good little museum? I look forward to coming here and again and will check their listings of events often.

I am happy to have their teachings! Besides learning that this area of New York city had a terra-cotta factory & a Bubble Gum Factory. We learn about the businesses that employed the locals and the goods that Americans could enjoy! As well as the after effects of industry , environment and public health. Erasure poetry was clever. I had never heard of it before. Taking the pages of a book written by Robert Richard Randall. He was a shipmaster who was very kind to build buildings to house the sailors who worked their lives on boats and had absolutely no money , no housing and no financial security. So now this building has become a museum. Environmental fiber arts exhibit was pretty appropriate. This artist have woven plastics into amazing sculptures. Fascinating. Sad that recycling efforts are so low. So much non biodegradable mater. We could do better if we get outraged enough to contact officials to make a change. You will learn how they succeeded in the past with women activists that were able to ultimately clean up Fresh Kills area! Beautiful nature now. The staff recommended a stroll. I saw the statue of the founder of this building. Homage to such a kind man. The garden outside was a nice. I really recommend coming here. If I had my ukelele. This place was a delight in many many ways .

It had inconsistent staff , no activities , few toys , nothing on the walls, absolutely not stimulating in any way. So we decided to look for a change. The Staten Island JCC on Manor road has been amazing. Great security, a consistent and caring staff. An inviting room which designates play area with lots of appropriate toys . A nice outdoor play area. This day care is really everything you want for your child and you can leave them there with confidence. They really love and care about your child. My son was 7 months old when we started here. The only negative is that the infant day care is on the lower floor and there is no elevator. ( actually there is an elevator, that allows you to take a long way there, but it seems to be often in disrepair!! ) other than that , this is a perfect day care. Yes it is closed on several Jewish holidays, which coincides with the public school holidays most of the time. Don't hesitate to use this place for day care, they really care about your child.
