This 980,418 square foot mall is located in Waldorf, MD. It was built in 1990. As you would expect,…read morethere is tons of parking available. It is managed by the Simon Property Group that manages many malls across the country. The mall is home to over 120 stores and has Dick's Sporting Goods, J. C. Penney, Kohl's, Macy's, and Macy's Home Store. as it anchors. I visited this mall on a Thursday night in mid-December and it was. pretty empty. Santa Claus was there though. What stuck out to me the most about the mall was how clean it was. It was very clean and updated. It had a play area for kids and you will find stores such as Yankee Candle, Bath & Body Works, GameStop, Build a Bear, Foot Locker, Journey, Hot Topic, Spencer's, The Children's Place, Pandora, Zales, Finish Line, Claires, Sip and Paint and Victoria's Secret. There is also an AMC movie theater, a selfie museum and post office there too. It should be noted that the Charles County Government plans on opening a Sports and Wellness complex in the old Sears location very soon. The opening date has not been announced yet. In addition to a vistit from Santa the mall hosts the Easter Bunny, Financial Workshop for Children, Animal Shelter Pet Adoptions, Maryland Kids in Safety Seats event, Game nights and hiring events. You will find a fair selection of eateries that feature America's Best Wings, Charley's, Auntie Annes, Sabarro, Ocean Blue Grill, Jeff's Burgers, Haagen-Dazs, Asian Chao and Cinnabon. I will admit that the mall has a well documented history of thefts, and violent acts including shootings and stabbings, but I did not feel unsafe during my visit. In a time when malls are dying, I like this one. It is easily accessible (by car and public transit), has all my favorite mall stores and eateries and is very clean and updated. I would recommend checking this mall out.

Full of stores no one wants to shop in!

You could walk it in good weather, about in about 15 minutes. Tanger has your typical outlet stores and a few snack options. The value of the items is pretty decent especially if there is a sale. Whether I'm making a planned trip or just stopping by on a whim, I always enjoy browsing the stores. Some days I have better luck than others, but that's just the nature of shopping--sometimes you find exactly what you're looking for, and sometimes you don't! Most of the stores I shop at are clean, and the staff is generally friendly and helpful. The outdoor areas are always well-kept and have plenty of seating for people to relax. The bathrooms are also fairly clean, which is always a plus. One place I'm not a huge fan of is the Starbucks. One of the cashiers can be a little unfriendly and rude toward customers. The first time I interacted with him, I thought maybe he was just having a bad day or was tired. However, after having another interaction with him and witnessing how he spoke to another customer before me, I realized that maybe it's just his personality. ‍ Overall, I really like this outlet center. The stores typically have great sales throughout the year, and there's a nice variety of options for everyone--it just depends on what you're looking for. I'll definitely continue to stop by and see what I can find!

This location sells a full line of organic products! Also, one added plus..... this Costco is usually empty during the weekdays. The weekends, on the other hand, can be a bit over-crowded if you are a shopper that is in a rush. In either case, the lines and checkout move fast. The only down-side is that this Costco is not loaded with booze like all the other Costcos around the DMV. But, in all...this place place has a lot of great finds and prepared meals....which comes in handy for a busy professional who has no time to cook (like myself) or large family. From fresh baked goods, prime cuts & meats, seafood....great deals on electronics....furniture....to all your main home staple needs.....this place has it all. Add all of this together..... with occasional free samples/tastings and the convenience of being able to get some mall shopping done all in one location....what more could you want!? *ELITE TIP: Get business membership or Costco Credit Card. and try this place out....you won't regret it. You get cash back on both purchases and gas! It's totally worth it....whether you prefer to buy in bulk, have a large family and/or single. The prices are great and the membership pays for itself!

"Making Shoppers Into Criminals to Make Profits"…read more Have shopped there regularly for 20 years, however, just had a very terrible experience: after patronizing stores in the mall one morning (and I had the receipts to prove it), I walked to a neighboring business adjoining the mall and came back mere minutes later to find my car towed. The impound lot was on the other side of the city, very far away, and I was left stranded, with shopping items in my hands and no way to get home. The selection here is pedestrian. The value is like everywhere else in the U.S., over priced. (The last two sentences are presented to meet Yelp review criteria. And now on with our story.) I returned later in the day to look for signage indicating anyone leaving the mall's premises to frequent adjacent businesses would be towed. I had parked in a large expanse of the mall in which no signs with that warning were visible. And obviously, they have vulture tow truck drivers, sitting, watching. Any buzzard grabbing my vehicle would have seen from the groceries in the car that no one had wandered away to take a tour of D.C. or to board an airplane at Reagan Airport. When you get to the impound lot, they then fleece you, admonishing you that you knowingly left the parking lot in violation of the rules. You didn't encounter any signs? You must have not looked hard enough. There were no signs where you parked? They can't afford to put the signs all over the place. Etc. They rehearsed all of their comebacks. They've heard it all before. Scum, and I will shop in the same stores located on Richmond Highway outside the Beltway from now on. The selection and value offered at Potomac Yard is no greater or less than what is offered at the Richmond Highway location I have just mentioned, and you won't risk being put through such an ordeal. I don't consider it to be a value to get raked over the coals. These are just opportunists, preying on innocent shoppers. And to what extent the shopping center is complicit in this robbery of patrons is anyone's guess.

But it's a total one-stop, go-everywhere-you-need-to shopping center. And that is why it earns 4 stars. Convenience. It's a great thing. We usually start off at Barnes & Noble or Old Navy or Best Buy or TJ Maxx or some other store we want to browse around in. Sometimes we'll even catch a movie (yeah, you can do that here too). And sometimes we'll eat at one of the restaurants. Then we head over to PetSmart to look at cute animals and purchase goodies for our cat and dog. Then we head into Target for household supplies and some groceries. And then go to Shoppers and get all the rest of our groceries. In short, we literally can spend an entire day at this shopping center. So yeah, that's the kind of convenience you just can't find often.
