This is a nice state park that sits in the middle of Wilmington! It offers a variety things to enjoy. On my visit while traveling, I saw people cooling off in the water, a picnic, walkers and runners, zoo goers, admirers of beauty in the rose garden, and more. It's nice to have such a great green space within an urban area. As a walker, it has nice paths that made it convenient to get my steps in while also seeing what Delaware has to offer! read more

This is a nice park. Much of it is walking trails surrounding a creek. There's a waterfall in the middle of the creek. A foot bridge connects the two sides. There's also walking trails off to the side. A nice fountain is near the parking lot. read more

I hadn't been back home for a while and was looking for something to do before I needed to head to the airport, so my mom and I got some Chinese food and cracked the windows and just sat by the river and kept each other company. This was a day after a big snow storm and things were melting and the ducks and geese were out and about. I did notice that the birds were a bit aggressive as apparently they thought we were going to feed them. They actually made their way out of the water and kind of surrounded our car and gave all this attitude quacking and sqwauking and what not. Anyway, it was still quite peaceful to just sit in silence and listen to the rushing water. It was a bit too cold to take too long of a walk but it was nice to just sit with my mom in the city of both our births that my mom hadn't been back to in almost 20 years and reminisce about our time/life growing up in the city of Wilmington. read more

Right off of I 95, this is an amazing park that I heard was designed by the same person as Central Park in NYC. Walk it, run it, or drive through it - and you will be amazed what is Wilmington, DE. For the dog owners in the world, there is an absolutely amazing off-leash dog park. Big enough but enclosed by the river, small canal and the base of the bridge. A great environment if you are unsure about how your dog will respond to you without the leash. There's so much greatness to write about - just go and explore it. read more

This space is so charming. Front and center to the Brandywine River and the Brandywine Zoo. It offers picnic tables and a couple pavilions. Ducks and geese are always plentiful. During the spring the cherry blossoms are spectacular! Free parking too, btw. read more

Ever since I moved in this area and discovered this park, I make it my business to always incorporate this wonderful place of solitude, as my peace. Didnt experience the zoo and walked around for a bit before finding the "dog park" (what this review will focus on} Brandywine dog park has no water, no fences, and no dogs. It's a field next to a somewhat busy street. Theres two picnic benches and nothing else. It's hardly a dog park, it's more just a stretch of grass. read more

Wilmington's not Philadelphia, but it does have some of the same class. I'd argue that one of Wilmington's first rate attractions is Brandywine Park. Located along the Brandywine River and mere blocks from the restaurant hub known as Trolly Square, the park offers a unique experience- I-95 cuts through the park on an expansive overhead bridge. When I first moved to Wilmington a year ago, I was a bit perturbed by the park. Who wants to visit a park where you hear traffic rumbling overhead? But I changed my mind within a few weeks. It's a rare occurrence to find such an pleasant and diverse park surrounded by urban sprawl. I work with kids, and take them here often. It's a good park for kids who need a mission- walking all the way around (about a mile?) is interesting enough to keep even my most scatterbrained students engaged. Rocks to climb down by the water, a rose garden (with exotic roses from all over), beautiful cherry blossoms in the spring, an area for picnics and grilling, a suspension foot bridge (the kids love this), wooded areas, benches to take a breather, and, thankfully, Porta-potties. If you're all on your lonesome or kid free, dinner at a local restaurant paired with an evening walk can make for a perfect Saturday. Brandywine Park gets 5/5. It holds its own and adds a lot to the city. read more

This park was our stop along the way from CT to DC. It's definitely a little gem. The path is really nice and was clean. The river is beautiful and there were a number of places to actually get to it. There are a number of picnic tables to sit and have lunch. So, thats all the good. Now for the bad. There are no restrooms and the Porta potties were so disgusting that we couldn't even use them. There were no trash cans and I was surprised how clean the park was despite this. There was a bit if trash laying around but not a tremendous amount. read more

Love this place for tranquility and close location to busy City Centre. Good infrastructure for parking and running.

Brandywine park is right off of Rte 95. This would be an excellent place to stretch your legs on a long car ride. The tow path is pretty and the rose garden is nice. You can take a lovely stroll here on a nice day. read more
