    Plantains and yummy salsa
    Krissy F.

Wow! Amazing meal all-around. The purpose of our dinner was former colleagues getting together to catch up, so there was seven of us. From the start, the plantains and their proprietary salsa, which of course we had to order more of because we gobbled it all down so fast. This jumpstarted our meal. Then of course we needed to add guacamole. Love that there's minced, finally chopped red onion on top of or to the side of the guacamole with a plantain in the center! The presentation was amazing. Next up the empanadas. Delish. Oh, and the sauce that it came with, not sure what it was but it was so tasty! It was the perfect compliment for the variety of empanadas. There was chicken and beef. Not too spicy or overbearing. And the portion of the empanadas was just enough so that you had a tasting. Then we moved on to our main meal. We all had different but I had the Black Angus Skirt Steak... see the photo. Wow.... Again, presentation. Each bite I savored. Cooked to perfection. The plate even came with the yummy empanada sauce! Looking around the platter, I had no doubt this meal was one to remember. And it did not disappoint. I highly recommend this amazing restaurant!

VERY DISAPPOINTING: I ordered the Ensalada de Kale which is labeled vegan on the menu. I also told the waiter I wanted it vegan. It came out with cheese on it. I sent it back and they brought me a salad that was half the size of the original and missing most of the ingredients listed. It is the only vegan item on the menu besides salsa and guacamole. Their menu specifically lists V as vegetarian and VE as vegan and this salad has a VE. If a restaurant goes through the steps to differentiate vegetarian, vegan and gluten free on a menu, you'd like to think they mean it. This is a warning for anyone else who might dine there, so they triple check and ask for it to be vegan (I only double checked). Additionally, nowhere in the listed ingredients for the salad does it mention cheese. The other salads do.

Another outstanding dinner at Brasitas, highlighted by Salmon a la Plancha and Camerones Al Ajillo - both flavorful and cooked to perfection. The service is top notch. Great spot for a casual meal.

Starting with the plantain chips and salsa and guacamole we thought everything was delicious...including my margarita! I had the branzino, yum. Others had the short ribs which are out of this world, marinated for over 24 hours...chicken curry also a hit,, and the duck. Service was great, and very boppy but not too loud ambience. Five stars!

DUDE...went here again tonight and ignore everything on the menu. Just order Bistec a Caballo. It's insanely rare my steak comes as I actually order it, so normally I order 1 below. I don't know what magical chef magician was in the kitchen but not only was my steak cooked to perfection, this whole plate as so good I had to keep myself from licking the plate! Order this now. No, get in your car now and go get those. Absolute perfection. No, I didn't take a picture. I devoted the whole thing instead. YUM!

The star of the show was the crab stuffed pork chop! This was on the special's menu. I've never even heard of such a dish so we had to try it. This was the best chuleta (pork chop) I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly and the presentation is top notch. I felt like I was on a Caribbean island somewhere. Ceviche is nice and fresh. Tostones con pollo were very tasty. The dessert was delicious. This meal exceeded my expectations. Quick service. Friendly staff. 10 out of 10.

My dining partner and I stopped here for dinner on a recommendedation on our way to Stamford for for a show. All I can say is they had me at curry! This Latin place has great atmosphere and excellent staff. When seated you begin with plantain chips and salsa, clearly homemade! The pollo curry caribeno (chicken with curry) is absolutely amazing! Served with sweet plantains, black beans and yellow jasmine rice, the chicken was complimented by raisins and celery in a coconut curry sauce. Absolutely delicious! A little lnown gem! Highly recommend!

I enjoyed Brasitas for lunch during a business meeting, and did quite enjoy it. We started with complimentary plantain chips with a really well-seasoned salsa. The chips were crunchy and almost melted in my mouth, and the salsa had just the right amount of acid, but not from lime, from vinegar, which was unexpected but still worked quite well. For lunch, I enjoyed the arroz con pollo, and what better place to get this than somewhere that makes it authentic. I could tell the ingredients were fresh and it was made with love. On top it had a fresh coleslaw, and it had peas inside. It was a nice experience, well seasoned, hot, and overall worth it!

My wife and I decided to visit Brasitas in Norwalk, CT over the weekend (8/8/2020) for the first time. Wow ! We were definitely impressed with the Brasitas restaurant. Upon walking in we really liked the layout of seating both in/outside and yes the salsa music was outstanding. We liked the cleanliness; we liked the attentiveness of the staff, cocktails were superb and the food was A-MA-ZING !!! Our waiter was Victor who also made our experience even better. We highly recommended eatery. Will we go back again? 1000% yes !!

Absolutely delicious! Went for their lunch special which is 3 courses for $20, plus a $5 glass of sangria - you can't beat that. Service was great, cozy atmosphere, and delicious food.

I've been to both Brasitas locations. The food and drinks are consistent and tasty. In the Norwalk location it's located in a small shopping center and although the sign is large it can possibly but missed. There are some outside tables on the walkway in front of the restaurant if you are in the mood for outside seating. Upon entering the restaurant you'll notice the low lighting, the bar on the right and seating tables on the left. I believe they have a private room towards the back for private events as well. Each time I've gone which I believe was a Sunday each time, there were usually a lot of seating options since it may be a slower day. The food! Delicious! As you sit you are served with plantain chips and salsa. There is a charge for the second serving of chips and salsa. The chips are nice and crispy and the salsa is perfect! Then the food, my go to is the red snapper and I substitute my salad for sweet plantains. I'm never disappointed in that dish! The last time I went I didn't have desserts because I was stuffed but, this place is a great restaurant experience!

Brasitas is fantastic!! Had dinner at Brasitas on a Wednesday while in Norwalk, CT for work for the week and can I just say WOW! Came to the restaurant on a whim since it was in the plaza next to my hotel and I'm glad I did. It was a busy night for the restaurant, the patio and indoor seating was lively. I was seated immediately and they give plantains and pico de gallo salsa to start. I ordered the coconut curry chicken and enjoyed the liveliness of the environment while waiting for my food. The restaurant ambiance has a lovely Latin aesthtic. The restaurant staff moved together like a symphony; they checked in multiple times throughout my dine time. The coconut curry chicken was beyond delicious! I can't stop thinking about the flavorful chicken, black beans, and jasmine rice. The caramelized plantains are a bonus if you like them! I would make Brasitas a go to dining spot if I lived in the area. 5/5 on ambiance, service, food, and quality!

Honestly, last night had some catharsis to it. Little Pub is one of these places where I've been…read moreby it a lot. Probably like a thousand times. I've walked by their parking lots and had to navigate my way past cars coming to eat here. And then there's a few times where I had ordered from this place on UberEats. It would be their pulled pork Mac and cheese I would get delivered 3 miles up the road to where I work, and I thoroughly enjoyed it every time I've had it. Last night, I had finally come here in person. After an in-service function at my job, me and my best friend from work went here for dinner. Honestly, it was a much needed night. I will say that parking for the dinner rush is pure hell. If you do manage to find a good parking spot during dinner rush, go buy a lottery ticket. But once we did find a space to park (the downpour from earlier made me have to both channel my inner Olympic gymnast and wish I could levitate so that I could miss the rain puddle where I was to get out), it wasn't too bad to get in. You have a little Photo Booth before you even get into the restaurant proper which we saw a kid using upon our arrival. The interior is definitely reminiscent of rustic British atmospheres. Not like being transported back to the medieval times so much as going to an old town British bar where you might either drink 80 beers with a group of vikings or end up as part of the chaos during Gaston's song sequence from Beauty and the Beast. It took a moment to decide what we wanted, but we were seated right away since we were just two people. I decided to start myself off with "The Jasmine Blossom", which has a Japanese gin base. Ever tried drinking a flower? Ever thought that that flavor tasted good? That's what I got from this drink. As for food, my friend had the Buttermilk Ranch Crunch Wrap, opting for sweet potato fries for a side, and my order was the hot honey chicken sandwich with the regular fries. I wanted to do something different from what I had previously had delivered this time around. I would say we both enjoyed our meals, but I do definitely think while my fries did have a good crisp to it, the sweet potato fries were the better fry. As described by my friend, the Crunch Wrap she had was sweet. Not in a sickening way, but sweet in how a way that makes a crunch wrap tasty. As for my sandwich, it looked like a burger at first. That was until I took a closer look at it and saw that this was indeed chicken. I dislocated my jaw and took my first bite. The hot honey made the overall sandwich sweet. Not sickeningly sweet, but the kind of sweet that makes a hot honey chicken sandwich tasty. I will say that the bottom of my sandwich struggled to hold its contents. It flopped in the middle, and it was a lot of work trying to hold it together to finish. The chicken was indeed juicy, and probably contributed to why the bottom struggled to keep itself together. But DAMN was it good! The prices honestly weren't bad either. For what I had, it came out to $33.32 which might seem like a lot until you realize it was both the sandwich and the cocktail on my tab. And no, I did not make that total up! That's what it showed on my tab. Speaking of, I do like the nice touch of getting post cards and a "Little Pub" sticker given to us on our tabs. Mine had Godzilla on it. They were pretty funny like that. We were in and out in maybe a slight bit over an hour, which honestly isn't bad given everything typed in this review. I'd definitely get food from here again, but maybe next time I try it I'd do well to wait for a time not so busy to come.

I'm no foodie but I am Chinese/Japanese and can appreciate finer things in life when I see it. This place meet and exceeded my expectations. The wonderful speak-easy tamaki-ya room in the back is warmly lit and held at a nice volume, much quieter than the izakaya bar in the front. For small bites we had the Beet n Hijiki salad (highly recommend!), Agedashi tofu, and Torched Maine uni. For hand-rolls I had the Spanish Mackerel, Hokkaido Scallops, Ocean Trout, BBQ Eal & Foie Gras, and Cucumber ume. My wife had the Maine Uni, Hamachi, and Botan Ebi. Everything was good, but there were quite a few that were very good, and there were two that, for me, were the best that I've ever had in recent memory. For the Spanish Mackerel Chef Taibe put an interesting spin on it by topping it off with a traditional Chinese ginger and scallion garnish used in a tender chicken dish. It works, it balances out the briny taste of Spanish Mackerel... which is great... unless you LOVE the briny, savory, mineral, metallic, umami taste of fresh Spanish Mackerel :) The Hokkaido Scallops was, by quite a large margin, the best scallop dish I've ever had. The tender sweetness of the fresh scallop combined with a brown butter kewpie (how American!) and yuzu tobiko sauce swimmingly. Texture, temperature, taste, all perfect. I like eel and I love Unaju. But by far the biggest surprise was the BBQ Eal & Foie Gras (see pic). This dish alone warrants a culinary course. On the face of it, bbq, eel, foie gras all sets you up for something rich, filling, heavy. But when I bit into the unassuming hand roll, it was the lightest bite of Japanese rice/seafood/seaweed/liver/sauce combo I've ever had. Turns out Chef Taibe prepared the sauce from scratch using five+ different spices, and prepared the foie gras au torchon. I could go on, but suffice to say, this was one of the best bites I've ever had. By contrast, I thought I was going to close out with the cucumber ume roll, but compared to the eel and foie gras, the ume actually felt more overpowering. Perhaps if they cut back on the generous amount of ume paste... (Worthy mention: Chef Taibe presents the nori in a separate envelope. This seemingly simple step is crucial to the taste and mouthfeel of the hand roll. It provides a wonderful fresh crisp crunch to every bite and it does indeed make a difference. He mentioned he sources a special nori but I forgot the details, just know that it's really good) My wife loves uni, and I'll let her describe her experience (which she won't) but it was so good she had to order a second one. As if you need more convincing, we had a great experience and I think you will too. Bravo Chef, well done

The cocktail program is seriously one of the best in the area. Creative without being gimmicky, balanced, and clearly inspired by Japanese ingredients and technique. Every drink feels thoughtful and well executed -- the kind of place where you actually want to work your way through the menu. The food is where it really shines. The chef-owner's love of Japanese cuisine comes through in every detail. The yakitori program is outstanding and deeply traditional -- using all parts of the chicken the way it's done in Japan. It's respectful, intentional, and absolutely delicious. You don't often see that level of authenticity and execution locally. The bar bites are some of the best around. The fried chicken sando is one of my personal favorites -- perfectly crispy, juicy, balanced, and craveable. And the ramen? No one can hold a candle to it. The broth is deeply flavorful and layered, the noodles are spot on, and every topping feels purposeful. It's the kind of bowl you think about the next day. Perhaps the best kept secret in all of Norwalk is the back room -- the elegant Temaki-Ya. Tucked away behind an unmarked entrance, this intimate hand-roll bar feels almost like discovering a hidden Japanese speakeasy. The atmosphere is quiet and refined, the kind of place that's perfect for a special date night or a memorable evening with friends. The temaki (hand rolls) are beautifully composed, with thoughtful ingredient combinations that balance texture, flavor, and visual appeal. What makes this place special is the dual experience -- lively izakaya vibes in the front, elegant hand-roll bar in the back -- all tied together by serious culinary skill and genuine hospitality. Norwalk is lucky to have this spot.

The space immediately stands out with a clean, modern feel that still feels warm, not staged or overly polished. It sets the tone before the food even hits the table. The meal itself followed through. The complimentary bread with oil was simple but done right, soft with a good crust and a clean, flavorful dip. We shared the wild mushroom arancini, and that was the first real standout. Crispy on the outside, rich on the inside, and the sauce was the kind you keep going back to without thinking. It carried the dish. For mains, I went with the wild mushroom pizza, which came out with a well balanced crust and just enough weight from the toppings without feeling heavy. The mushrooms were the focus and they delivered. The honeynut squash ravioli leaned more delicate, slightly sweet, and felt more composed than expected in a good way. Drinks held their own too. The Old Fashioned was clean and steady, while the lychee martini added something lighter and more refreshing to the table. They close the meal with biscotti and limoncello, which already would have been enough, but we added the tiramisu and that was the right call. It rounded everything out without feeling excessive, just a clean finish to a well paced dinner. Service matched the tone of the restaurant, attentive without hovering, and the pacing of the meal felt natural from start to finish. This is the kind of place that feels intentional.
