8 oz. Prime Filet Mignon Oscar Style
    Erika S.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great steaks at a busy restaurant with casual ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had been looking forward to steak for some time and this was just what I needed. I got the filet mignon and triple baked potato. Both were absolutely delicious. We also got a filet mignon Oscar style, which includes crab meat on top. Also delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were many large parties and some in sectioned off areas so this place has plenty of space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, the service was good and food was delicious definitely would recommend.

Everything was outstanding! Had not been here in a while and it did not disappoint! Service was friendly and accommodating! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a cozy terrace area![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was great!

Chose this for my 59th birthday dinner.. simply, great choice! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere is great combination of laid back with elegance and style.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great semi-circle booths, great service and cool music (be prepared for some all time greats from the 70's).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Loved the California roll (teen son-"how do they make it taste so good?"), quality ingredients and preparation. Awesome calamari... not spicy, don't be scurred! Fresh clams on half shell, loved 'em. Then the main attraction: filet mignon w side Maine lobster tail. Not eqsy to hit medium rare perfectly and not overcook the lobster, but, they did it! Nice desert too w bananas foster cake..go, enjoy, repeat!

Service was good.. I had the eggs Benedict. It should be a fairly easy one to prepare. Yet the first eggs were totally overcooked. Totally solidified! Once I mentioned it I was served a new set of eggs - these ones were totally undercooked. The egg whites did not properly form and solidify around the yolk - and the yolk was totally runny and the pouch was full of water. I mentioned it to the server - but I doubt that the feedback made it to the kitchen. The bill arrived and no "apology" or even a visit from "the chef"... needless to mention that me and my wife and another table of 3 were the only ones here.. Coming back ??? NO THANK YOU!!!!

Was in the area and had heard some good things so decided to check it out. We had dinner. Filet and lobster tail. Truffle mashed potatoes Cauliflower We enjoyed it very much and will def be back.

Incredibly delicious and fresh shrimp cocktail !

The perfect brunch spot! Great service along with nice quality food and solid drinks. What more can you ask for ? We had a very nice, cozy booth which made our experience nice and inviting. It's nice to know the restaurant carefully reads the comments section and did us a solid with the great table. The shrimp cocktail was a 10. Super fresh shrimp and they're a very nice size, served up on ice with delicious horseradish sauce... so good. I had the Chicken & Waffles and they were very good. My friend had the Breakfast Poutine, which she loved and took home a ton of leftovers! My husband enjoyed the Farmer's Toast and everyone was happy! The host that greeted us when we walked in couldn't have been more friendly and kind. Great place! I will definitely be back. And easy metered parking is available at the municipal lot across the street.

During a weekend in Norwalk, my boyfriend and I stumbled across this place by chance. We had planned to celebrate our anniversary at Match, but by lunch time, were hungry for lunch and needed something that opened before 5 PM. This was the perfect spot for us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's not too fancy where you feel bad for wearing jeans, but nice enough that it scratched the romantic itch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We visited during the holidays around lunch time; the decor was off the charts Christmas in the most wonderful way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a musician playing guitar and singing, but it was genuinely pleasant. I don't love live music in a restaurant, but noise was controlled enough that I could still have a conversation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once I saw the specials menu, I knew I had picked the right place. "12 Days Of Truffle" -- yes, truffle means prices of everything skyrocket, but it's worth it to me. We ordered the King Salmon Tartar appetizer off the truffle menu, which was delicious. The salmon was super fresh and a good portion, too. We also ordered the Bone Marrow appetizer, which simply melts in your mouth. And the little pile of chicken liver that came with it was astounding. I would 100% order that again despite the price. For our meals, my boyfriend ordered a waguy steak off the truffle menu. I ordered the brunch burger (sans egg). We both loved our meals! (I will say, the burger was cooked to a medium, not a medium rare like I requested. But I'm not a stickler about that.) Of course I got a side of truffle parm french fries because, if you couldn't tell, I love truffle. Those were great, too! I don't have a single complaint about any of the food or service I received. The staff (waiters, bartenders, and front-of-house) was incredibly nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibes inside were perfect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will absolutely be going back!

What a DELICIOUS dinner! Pretty casual steakhouse but has the BEST steaks! I ordered the halibut and the filet. My friend ordered the ribeye and lobster. WOW! The halibut was PERFECTLY cooked! The filet was so tender, I could cut it with a butter knife! I will definitely come back!

Delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place felt very cool and was very crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend a reservation. We went on a Saturday night and it was full. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They did have some TVs with the game going but I didn't feel like a sports bar at all.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress wasn't the most attentive but the busting staff was right there if you did need something. For example the wrong dessert was delivered to us and after a couple minutes a bust boy brought the correct one without us having to ask someone for help. We got the spinach + artichoke dip which came with toasted bread. This was great and the toasted bread for some reason made it different than other places. The artichoke dip had big pieces of artichoke but not big floppy pieces of spinach. We both got steaks (filet mignon and ny strip). Both came out perfectly cooked and I thought the chard outside layer added to the flavor. I highly recommend getting a sauce with a steak. I loved the peppercorn one and my partner liked the steak sauce but did not like the clarified smoked butter. We got mashed potatoes as a side which we enjoyed. They tasted like gold potatoes and made a perfect bite with a piece of steak, sauce, and potatoes! We got the apple situation and ny style cheesecake for dessert which were both lovely. Overall I think it was a little too pricey for what you got. The fact that we have a gift card will make us go back again.

Went for my dads birthday and we were all really pleased with the food! Usually from high end restaurants the portions are on the smaller side but I was impressed with the amount of gnocchi I got. My dad loved his steak and I loved that it came on a cutting board! Got a complimentary ice cream for his birthday, which was really kind

We had to ask for a bigger table and was led towards the end. Very interesting menu, we had the pu'er tea, which is not very commonly offered in the Chinese restaurants in the area. Love the teapot presentation and overall the branding effort. We tried to order the soup dumpling but was told something wasn't working properly and it's going to take over an hour so next time. Got wontons in chili oil, love the flavor. The mushu pork, a little bit too sweet for me. And the beef chow fun, just can't go wrong with that, and the szichuan pot with cumin lamp. I think this more authentic Chinese but my husband felt the lamb was too oily. I requested to get the little cute cat cup for my daughter's lemonade order and they said yes, so it was a very cute touch. Very happy with the visit definitely a lot of potential we will be back.

Popular menu items include birria tacos, octopus, shrimp ceviche, and steak chimichurri. My daughter and I visited here for her birthday, and we both love Latin cuisine. As we walked in, we were greeted warmly and shown to our seats immediately. It was a chilly day, and the restaurant felt cold inside as well. The staff tried to warm things up with space heaters, but they didn't quite do the trick. We ordered empanadas, birria tacos, hanger steak, and sweet plantains with crema and queso fresco. When the dishes arrived, they were lukewarm--a bit disappointing, considering how cold it was outside. The birria tacos were delicious, though again, they could have been hotter. The meat was tender and well-seasoned, but I would have liked it a bit crisper. The hanger steak was tender, and the Pico de Gallo was bursting with flavor, pairing perfectly with the steak. It was nicely seasoned and had a good-sized portion. The empanadas were tasty, with flavorful and plentiful meat. The plantains were extremely delicious. The crema and queso fresco helped bring the whole dish together beautifully. The customer service was friendly, but the food could have been hotter; still, the flavors and seasonings were spot-on.

For my 100th review, I wanted to pick something special for me. Though it was my first time visiting this place, I knew about from them following me on Instagram. Once combined with the Yelp rating and location, I knew I had been wanting to give these guys a visit. And so, Alma Bistro becomes my 100th review! Because I was on my lonesome, I was able to just take a seat at the bar, something I have always come to appreciate as an adult. I actually had 3 different people tending to me: 2 waitresses and 1 waiter. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. I had actually asked about the "pp" by one of the menu items, and truth be told, they are talking about "per person" here! Helpful and great at their jobs! In fact, when I was ordering my food, one of my waitresses gave a special mention to another appetizer, those being the tuna tostada. It's not something I normally eat, but I figured why not! Trusting the employees can sometimes lead you to finding new favorites, and it shows that they really put their thought out when dealing with customer service. It doesn't look like much outside, but it's actually a different story inside! Plants help bring it even more life here, you get that casual feel when eating out, and even the bathrooms are clean! It's definitely a spacious place once you're inside. I did the full course here, which came out to $95.54 before leaving a $20.25 tip. The total therefore was $115.79. Definitely more of a treat than a place to come to every day, but I like it like that for reasons you'll soon find out. So for my appetizers, I had the aforementioned tuna tostada as well as the birria tacos. Those birria tacos are to DIE for! Came out hot, juicy, and just truly divine. The consume was flavorful and seasoned perfectly! Don't skip on these! As for the tostadas, they wouldn't be something I'd normally choose, but WOW was I impressed! These were tasty sons of guns, garnished with a plantain chips and give a spicy kick thanks impart to the jalapeños that garnish the plate. The presentation was superb too! For my entree, I almost went with the $35 Argentinian dish, but my instincts told me I HAD to try the Steak Chimichurri. I must say, that steak is without question one of the best steaks I'd ever had! I had mine medium-well, and it was juicy, seasoned perfectly, great crust that compliments the steak, you name it! It was absolutely HEAVEN on a wooden plate! You're given the yucca frites to go along with it, and these were good as well. The fries were the weakest part, but they were still good with that light, airy goodness. You just need that dipping sauce to elevate it and you're golden. For dessert, the gluten-free chocolate mousse cake! Actually, one of my waitresses Laura had to ask her manager if they were available to order, and luckily they were. You're given a tall slice of a chocolate layered cake with a strawberry drizzle on top and another case of great presentation! This slice slayed and was the perfect thing to end of this dinner. I also got their special menu Tropical Mule, and you have this pineapple garnish, kind of like the limes you might get in a Corona. The cup you get it in keeps the drink cold by not melting the ice quite so fast. Another case where it was worth every penny and then some. I love a good tropical drink and this one tasted great! Sweet enough to be tropical, but not overly sweet to where it can be off putting. Of course Alma is getting a 5! This was the perfect spot for me to take on my 100th review, and I hope you all have enjoyed your journeys on Yelp as much as I have so far. Many more great Yelp moments to come!

I'm not usually a fan of cole slaw, and this one was a bit watery, I should have asked if I could swap it out. The desserts were a highlight too, the peach empanada was nice and warm, buttery, paired perfectly with the ice cream and icing, and the banana pudding was smooth, classic, and comforting with the nilla wafer crumble and fresh banana. Even my starter arugula lemon vinaigrette salad was delicious. Service was excellent and attentive, and the ambiance is definitely upscale and stylish. The food at Oak + Almond is consistently excellent, with large portions providing good value, and this visit was no exception. Appetizer highlights included Brussels sprouts and octopus. Entrees including wood grilled pork chops, chicken Milanese, branzino and Bucatini Allo Scoglio were all excellent. Dessert highlights were chocolate sea salt tart and gelato. It's a little noisy with no carpet or drapes to muffle the sound, but well worth the visit.

I came here for lunch and dinner and every visit was consistently excellent. The food, service, and…read moreatmosphere all made this place an easy favorite. My first meal was the Caesar salad, which was outstanding. The poached egg was cooked perfectly with that soft, medium‑boiled center I love. The Parmesan was fresh, the dressing was balanced, and the grilled chicken was a generous, well‑seasoned portion. Simple, clean, and delicious. The ambience is a huge part of the charm -- a cozy, wood‑cabin feel with a great bar setup. You can get full service at the bar, enjoy top‑shelf drinks, and watch the TVs without it feeling like a sports bar. It's a comfortable mix of locals and travelers, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Benny behind the bar was great, and he made the experience even better with fun conversation and excellent service. For dinner, I tried the pasta with sausage, which was flavorful without being overly salty. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The mussels were a standout -- the broth was clean and delicious, with a white‑wine base, a touch of tomato, fresh herbs, and just the right kick from jalapeño. One of the best mussel dishes I've had in a while. The wine selection was also very good and paired nicely with the dishes I tried. After several meals back‑to‑back, I can confidently say this place delivers every time. Great food, great service, great vibe. I'll definitely keep coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a consistently excellent dining experience
