    Over priced 16$ dessert special??

Plate dish-ware is somewhat large, but so are the prices. I believe the plates give the large illusion to justify the 30$ a dish price. Wish the margaritas had better house tequila , because they weren't strong at all. The staff was friendly, food flavor was good. I would give this place a 5 stars if the dish prices were more reasonable and the bartender could make the margaritas better. I'll give them another shot and update the review if we have a better result.

Delicious food and excellent service. We were seated right away and they brought plantains and salsa almost immediately. Great selection of specials and cocktails: I ordered the pistachio crusted halibut for my entree. Service was very prompt. Highly recommend!

Homemade plantain chips and pico de Gallo salsa

This place has a very cute interior and wasn't too busy on the weekday night we went in. At times it felt a bit hot, not uncomfortably so just higher than expected, but they were pretty good at opening the door on intervals to let in the cold air, just don't sit right in the draft like we did and I'm sure you'll be fine. The prices were a tad high for my taste but the literal taste is worth the occasional splurge. So let's dive in. What we got: Homemade plantain chips and pico de Gallo salsa - 4* the first round is on the house and that's really all you need. The plantain chips are such a novel idea and delicious on their own or dipped in the salsa. And the salsa tastes so fresh and delicious! Arepas Con Pollo - 3.5* on the smaller side. They were good but I'd probably save my arepas for a specialized arepas spot and try a different appetizer here. Mango-Ahi Tuna Tartare - 3* this was a special. It wasn't my favourite. Fish tacos (I forgot their menu name) - 5* I am not a fish tacos family but these are fantastic. I would definitely recommend them and get them again. Only two come out with an order so be creative in how to split with a group of three. Jerk Marinated Grilled Swordfish - 4* this was another special and it was also quite fantastic. I don't know if I would have enjoyed it as much eating the whole thing on my own (it might've been a bit much) but I did like eating a majority of it and sharing the rest with the table. Coca de Jamon y Burrata - 5* amazing. Basically a really good pizza. The meat was 100% delicious. Ensalada de Remolacha - 3.5* I loved the goat cheese balls in the salad but the salad isn't one that would've filled me up if it was the only thing I ate. Glad the person who ordered it gets filled up differently! I wasn't a fan of the beets and thought the kale and salad dressing were pretty good.

While traveling through Stamford and staying at the nearby Marriott, a colleague strongly recommended Brasitas for an authentic Latin dinner. My experience there did not disappoint. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive and the decor allowed a great environment. From the appetizer, to the main course and dessert every course was amazing. I strongly recommend trying if you are in the area.

Not sure if I'd come back here, or at least this location. My party came in and we're the only one table to be in the restaurant and it took an hour to serve us. When served, they didn't bring out the appetizer. Our entrees came out and we were so confused. Our waiter gave us the appetizer on the house but it's still unfortunate and ridiculous because once again, we were the only table inside. Secondly, when this same appetizer that never came out, there was a long strand of hair and/or string. It just could not get worse. The only reason I'm giving it a 2 is because 1.) it was handled appropriately and 2.) the food was sub-par.

Amazing cozy family owned restaurant in Stamford. They start of with fried plantain strips and an amazing salsa (I wanted to take some home) We ordered a variety of drinks. I otdered the Spicy Love Affair which was good. Our table ordered the Ceviche Mussels Ensalada con Peras Mariscada Caribena (seafood stew in lobster bisque ) Short ribs with manchego cheese Flan, churros and tres leches There was not a missed step with any of these dishes. Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely on my visit list when in Stamford

We actually live in New York and we will drive to Stamford Connecticut to have lunch or dinner at this place. The staff here is accommodating and makes you feel at home. The food is incredible especially the salmon which has an amazing flavor profile. One of my favorite drinks is the coconut Mojito and it is made from some of the freshest ingredients and you can taste it. Another of my favorites is the Arepas Con Pollo which is a delicious appetizer. The Chicken in Coconut Curry dish is pleasantly surprising. I was not expecting it to be as good as it is.

We found Cosecha's by accident. We were looking for a place to drop in for breakfast. Cosechas…read morepopped up in our search. We were very lucky it popped up. Everything about Cosecha's is great. I'm not a Colombian food expert, so I can't say if it was traditional or not. But we really liked what we had!! We had a few empanadas as appetizers. They were really good. Nice crispy outside, and stuffed full on the inside. We could tell they were freshly handmade. They were clearly not frozen. The coffee is perfect. It had a robust coffee flavor. Not a bitter or burnt flavor, but a full coffee flavor, with a slight hint of cocoa. Staff is very friendly and attentive. They know all the dishes. I wasn't sure what to order. I told the waitress I was really hungry and asked what's popular. She suggested Calentado. It's a dish with eggs, rice & beans, meat, and cheese topped arepa. Meat choices are chicken, steak, ground beef, or chorizo. I tried the chicken. The waitress recommended scrambled eggs with onions and peppers. Our food came out very quickly. The plates of food were enormous. Each plate had enough food for two people. And everything was great! They have a large assortment of pastries and desserts up front. Unfortunately, I was too full to try any. They seem to be very popular in the neighborhood. While we ate, we noticed the staff joke around with people who popped in for coffee, sandwiches, or desserts. There are a lot of regulars. Tables, counters, and floors are clean. Take out refrigerators are stocked well. Popular music plays at proper levels. Loud enough that you can hear it, but not so loud that you can't hear each other. We will definitely be back again for breakfast. We will also come back for lunch, dinner, and desserts. Check it out if you're in the area.

As many times as I've been here I never thought to write a review. Well that changes today!…read more Decor Clean, dim, fairly small/intimate. It's not so small that you can't move around but during peak hours you may be shoulder to shoulder with another party. BUT if you get there at a decent time you should be good with space. Service Everyone is friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. No complaints here. Food No exaggeration, but I can't remember a time when I had a bad order or something that I wouldn't order again. Here are some of my favorite items: Chaufa - fried rice with your choice of protein. Anything from chicken, pork, fish, and steak. They have it all...and it's all good! Fish Chunks - lightly fried, crispy, seasoned perfectly! Lomos - if you're looking for a hearty meal that will either put you to bed (IMMEDIATELY!) or provide you with a leftover meal for the next day...this is it. I highly recommend upgrading to the Cadillac Lomo which uses filet cuts of steak *chefs kiss* Half or Whole Chicken - if you're looking for something simple. Perfectly seasoned, crispy where it needs to be, and not a dry piece to be found! I'll get that with a side of veggies (which are banging) and I'm straight. Pisco Sour - let me say that the sangrias are good but the Pisco Sour is my 100% go to. I can't even really describe it but trust me...it's good! That's all for my recommendations but honestly I don't think you can make a bad pick even if you don't choose something I detailed above. Also, if you decide to dine in they bring you the warm toasted bread with that Aji Sauce that might as well be liquid gold! Misc. Acuario is consistent with great service and an Aji sauce that will change your life. Until next time...

"Some lunches surprise you. Others quietly raise your standards."…read more We came to Acuario for Restaurant Week, and it felt like one of those rare moments where value and quality meet without compromise. For starters, we had the tostones and the Papa Yuca appetizer. The tostones were crisp and golden with a soft center, paired with salsa criolla and garlic sauce that added brightness and depth. The Papa Yuca was comforting and rich, coated in a creamy sauce that felt balanced rather than heavy. Both dishes tasted intentional, not like scaled back lunch specials. They also brought complimentary bread with aji verde, and that sauce deserves its own recognition. Fresh, herb forward, and slightly spicy, it was incredibly addictive and elevated everything it touched. For the main, we ordered the lomo saltado, and it easily stood out. The beef was tender, the onions and tomatoes were sautéed just right, and the sauce carried bold flavor without overwhelming the plate. The fries held their texture under the sauce, and the rice brought everything together. It may honestly be the best lomo saltado in Stamford. Service was warm and attentive. Even during Restaurant Week, we never felt rushed. Staff checked in thoughtfully and kept the experience smooth from start to finish. The ambiance added to the experience. The space feels welcoming and lively without being chaotic. It has a comfortable neighborhood energy, the kind of place where you can enjoy a relaxed lunch but still feel like you are somewhere special. Acuario delivered on food, service, and atmosphere. Five stars without hesitation.

By the time we were ready to start ordering, a few seats opened up and our sweet waiter took care of cleaning the area first before we switched over to the bar. The overall ambiance of this restaurant was family friendly with a holiday feel. We ordered cocktails, which were delicious! Our appetizers (sticky wings = 10/10, omg the sauce!; shrimp bao buns, and some meatballs) kept us more than full enough that we decided to hold off on ordering anything else for the evening. Before we left, our original waiter asked how everything was and some of the exciting things that take place at this restaurant. I'm very big on customer service and I really appreciated how attentive, accommodating, and genuine everyone was throughout the night, even with there being so much people there. I will definitely come back again!

Got there early ahead of our reservation to get drinks at the bar. I ordered a dirty vodka martini and my husband got a gin martini. They got the order wrong and gave us both dirty martinis. I was briefly excited by them asking if I wanted blue cheese olives but even those were dry since you can see them on the bar pre-skewered, sitting in a container, not in brine. We finished our drinks and then moved to a table. We were not given water when seated. Placed an order for another round of drinks then (smartly) made the decision to order a mix of apps first before our entrees. Placed an order for another round of drinks, got the gnocchi, dumplings & wings. Food hit our table before our drinks arrived and we had to ask for water. Now onto the actual food - sadly, nothing good to say about it: - Sticky Gochujang Wings: well fried wing but WAY too much vinegar in the sauce not at all a Gochujang flavor - Sweet Chili Dumplings: Panda Express sauce a cloyingly sweet. Would expect more from a place like this. Also the filling of the dumpling tasted like it had curry seasoning? Curry + sweet chili are not flavors that mix - at least not in this dish. - Gnocchi: The sauce was broken/so grainy and gritty and the gnocchi itself SO DENSE. After this bad show, it was a no-brainer that we were gonna take our night and appetites elsewhere. So disappointing. Feels like they have a lot of service issues. Staff felt new even though they've been open for a year or so now. Unless some big changes happen, I have no interest in coming back.
