Brass hat. Hmmm. The drinks are good. I've always enjoyed them, never had any complaints. The service and vibe are cute and totally worth checking out. The food........ The food is interesting. It is pricey for what you get and I don't mean portion size I mean quality. It's not bad, it's not great, but it is ok. Cobb salad 6/10 Fries 7/10 Drinks 9/10 Now the 18 dollar crab cakes (two per order)............ Crab is a stretch , more so like a salmon croquettes. Only had them once, probably wouldn't get them again and they were brought out Burnt af...... the top part was ok, that bottom was a joke.

Good restaurant within the Hotel Indigo. Hotel restaurants tend to be overpriced and meh quality. But the Brass Hat was good and not horrifically expensive. Ate dinner here, got dessert, got drinks. Cozy. Good service. All good.

We were staying at Hotel Indigo and decided to the the restaurant downstairs. It did not disappoint. The service is exceptional and fast. There is live music some nights which we enjoyed. I got the salmon as an entree and it was AMAZING! This is a wonderful option if you don't want to leave the hotel or want a drink after work

Overall: Service was great! We had a very attentive server that checked on us regularly but wasn't over bearing. We never felt rushed to eat and leave. The atmosphere was friendly, fun and clean. We got there somewhat early so there were plenty of seating options. There is no host, so seat yourself. The food was just OK. If my review was based on food alone, I would have gone with a 3 star but service and atmosphere bumped my rating up to a 4 star. Crab Dip: 2/5 Not much positive to this dish in my opinion. I will say it was full of crab but the flavors just weren't there. Imagine someone taking an ice cream scoop of crab meat, putting it in a bowl, covering it with a slice of cheese and putting it in the oven. The chips were the best part of this dish. Tomahawk Pork Chop: 3/5 The best part of this dish was the mashed potatoes. When I ordered the pork chop, I asked for it to be cooked medium and was given a funny look by our server. He said the the pork chop would be cooked well. It was dry and overcooked. The steamed vegetables were OK. Lightly seasoned, absolutely nothing special. Smoked Rosemary Old Fashioned: 5/5 I really enjoyed this cocktail! Wish the smoky flavor would have come through a bit more but overall, amazing drink. Kudos to the bartenders! Live Music: 5/5 A guy named Jeff Aplin was playing some great covers spanning several decades. He put his own twist on a lot of the songs and wasn't too loud! Really enjoyed listening to him. Overall, this was a good night. We will probably come back for drinks and atmosphere but there are better food options in the area. The food was definitely not worth the money we spent.

Great drinks and desert My husband and I wanted to to sit outside and enjoy a drink and possibly a desert before turning in. The drinks were on spot. The brownie with ice cream was 6 inch of spectacular.

This bar is such a refreshing upscale atmosphere compared to all the cheap college spots in town. The bar tenders are great & she made me this yummy dessert drink ! I meet the best people here

I love this place; I was super impressed. It rivals any place I've visited in major cities and has a nice vibe to it. The breakfast was good, 1st time trying rice grits (don't knock it until you try it). My favorite is the bar and evening appetizers. Great creative drinks: the bananas foster old fashioned is a must try. The fried green tomatoes w/crawfish etouffee was delicious. I also tried the pimento hummus and it was very tasty.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks, and food here at brass hat! Definitely recommend if you're trying to have a delicious and low key dinner.

There are absolutely no shortages of places to eat in Hattiesburg. Some visiting might lean towards safe places with menu items they feel secure and safe with, and there's nothing wrong with that. But, if that's you you're missing out on some amazing food. Today I took my wife for mother's day as they had some special items on their menu, while also keeping their regular menu available. We started with their standard dumpling appetizer. We get it everytime we eat there and they're delicious every time. The meals we picked were the the kimchi cabanara and the shrimp and grits. Both on their special mother's day menu. Both were absolutely delicious with fresh ingrediants, balanced seasonings and amazing flavors. I'm Italian and grew up eating traditional family Sunday dinners but this bowl of pasta was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere of the place is very modern with a combination of traditional asian features mixed with some modern MTV inspired artwork. If you're into craft cocktails they got you covered as well. The only miss we had to day was our server never came back to take our dessert order, when we asked to order it he confused what we said for the bill and brought that instead. Not a deal breaker, we were actually too full for it anyway and we've had their desserts before. They always inventive and delicious. At the end of the day, one small service hiccup wasn't enough to overshadow what was an outstanding meal and experience. In a city packed with chain restaurants and predictable menus, places like this are what make Hattiesburg's food scene worth exploring. If you're willing to step outside your comfort zone a little, you'll be rewarded with creative dishes, quality ingredients, and flavors you'll still be thinking about on the drive home. We'll absolutely be back.

Cocktails were creative and beautifully presented. The food was great - eclectic Asian would be my descriptor. We had the pickled veggies which included kim chi, black garlic, poblanos, pickles, and collards. The assortment was very nice. The pork and shrimp dumplings were a bit firmer than I'm used to, but not in a bad way, and the flavors were excellent. The pot roast egg rolls were a fun mashup. The okra was delicious - perfectly cooked and great balance of flavors. The pork belly buns were my favorite item. Lots of tender, crispy pork on a cloud soft bun. Yum! I will definitely return if in the area.

Their steaks and burgers are better than anything the franchised steakhouses have to offer. Period. No debate. They have a market attached to the restaurant and it is my favorite place to shop for hard-to-find cuts; ox tail is my favorite and practically nonexistent in most meat departments. I have yet to try any of their goat or lamb, but their ice cream is addictive. You've been warned. The front of the house staff is always very friendly and attentive while the back of the house is always on point with the food. The two I've spoken with the most have been Ashley and her manager, Danielle. Both are wonderful; I can't say enough nice things about them. Danielle's hard work is evident in her people and the establishment. The restaurant itself has a modern, southwestern aesthetic that is very clean and cozy featuring a spacious horseshoe bar with a variety of seating indoors and out. The wood paneling, leather seating, and soft lighting create the perfect atmosphere for a business lunch or nice date, but is especially pleasant during a normal lunch. You couldn't ask for more from a local steakhouse.

The lighting is a bit dim for our old eyes but otherwise it has the feel of a pub. We loved that. Our server was very nice and helpful. We ordered the bacon cheddar fries. The fries are like a cottage fries that are then cut into strips. Perfect fry on them. The bacon could have been crispier but great flavor and a good ranch. I had the KPauls pasta. We all enjoyed it. Pasta cooked perfectly al dente. If you love a saucy pasta this isn't for you. It is nice and creamy but not swimming in it. Big plump shrimp that tasted great. Also has chunks of chicken breast and sliced sausage. Uncle Jim got the red beans and rice. Great flavor but barely warm. The catfish is a thicker cut and battered in a coarsely ground corn meal. Aunt Robin had the shrimp and grits. Those were the star of the show. So creamy and incredible flavor. Very generous amount of nice sized shrimp. Mike had the Keg Stand burger. He requested the sauce on the side. It's definitely a unique flavor. Nice soft bun. The meat was grossly over cooked but would have been tasty had it not been so dry. The onion rings that came with the burger were soggy. Overall, enjoyed it. We know what to get next time. Shrimp and grits and KPauls pasta!!
