We like this place a lot because they are in Camas near our grandchildren, and it's still…read moreaffordable. I was impressed by how clean it was this visit, considering how old it is. And now we can even take our little dog. This time I came myself for 4 nights, and stayed on the 3rd floor for the first time; just right for 1 small grandma. My room was near the bathroom and kitchen, which was great, because I brought my own food (health problems & prefer to spend $ on my family). The A/C in the window was noisy when on but worked great and I turned it off at night anyway (It's only May 3). My nebulizer is prob just as noisy. When my husband and I came in Oct. we loved walking down the street to Natalia's café on the corner for the free breakfast at the was included then with our second floor rooms...just fun for us. If you stay on the third floor you have to pay but it's still only $7.95 or so. The kitchen has microwave, reg. fridge, and Kirkland dark coffee we like. (I bring my own decaffe too:-) The staff is great; personable, helped me bring my luggage up without my asking. But know it's European. Hot water took awhile to get to 3rd floor shower...but it's fun to feel like I'm "back to the future" in 1911.... in a novel for a few minutes. I can walk all over town at night in safety and quiet. And this quiet retreat is just what I needed after my spouse's sad and serious diagnosis. I walked nearby beautiful Round Lake Fri. morning and met a new friend, an unexoected dimension, and learned more about resilience facing cancers worse than mine. Count your blessings.

I stayed two nights on the third floor. The floor has maybe eight rooms without bathrooms, but…read morethere's two bathrooms for the floor to share. That worked out great. The room was only about $90 a night. A great price. The hotel was built in 1911 and has a lot of character. I'll go there again if I visit that area again.

So much art to look at, curiosities tucked in every corner, space to roam and explore! - Get the passport to make your stay even more rewarding and fun! I love the scavenger hunts and the stamps force you to do things you might not normally do on your own accord. - The full pitch and putt course is a relaxing and a fun way to spend a few hours. It was only $25 per person and took us 3 hours. - I signed up for the Makers Tour and highly recommend it! Lots of tastings and great historical facts along the way. - The soaking pools at night were perfect to relax muscles right before bed plus no kids after 8pm. - This hotel doesn't revolve around children. The movies that were showing were rated R and most of the pubs and pool hall are 21+. Kids are welcome - but I've never seen that many kids around which I like, personally. - It's very Dog Friendly!! - The live music is incredible. I've been here for big concerts on the lawn plus mini concerts down the winery hall. They were all amazing. - It can get noisy between 7-11pm especially in weekends! The building is old - not sure about insulation and things! Bring some earplugs, a positive attitude and maybe enjoy an extra drink! Or go during the week for a quieter experience. - The food is a bit pricey but if you are doing the passport it makes a little more sense. Some of my favorites are the Cajun Tots, Portland Dip, any Burger, and the Bagel and Lox Breakfast is Incredible!!!

Very good, but it was $16.25 for a 9oz pour...it should be good. The small Caesar with Grilled Chicken was ok. But again, $16.00 is too expensive. I did look further and saw that the Cheeseburger, with Fries and a Pickle Spear is $25.00. No way. My server was Adam. I hope this is a short term gig for him as he was non-existent...which is what I expected. His lack of attentiveness to me was horrendous. I will not return to any McMenamins, as I stated at the beginning, service is slow, food is okay and it has become too expensive.

The signage into their parking lot is not clearly marked at the turn so if possible arrive during daylight hours. If you miss the turn off you have to circle the block as there is only one entrance and the roads are one-way here. Although the hotel is set back from the road you still hear highway traffic, truck brakes from the truckstop next door and the occassional train. If you are easily disturbed, bring earplugs. Just fyi. It is close to an outlet mall, gas station and plenty of restaurants. The hotels looks to have been renovated recently. Our room was clean with all the comforts a traveler may need. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, closet, iron/board, multi-use personal care items and soft towels. Our bottom bed sheet came off in the night for both of us. That's a first. Breakfast includes the basics. Cold cereal & 2%milk, instant oatmeal, juices, coffee/tea, bagels & cream cheese, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. The area was kept very clean. The gentleman who checked us in was very chatty making the check-in process long. He also chatted with us again when we returned from dinner until another guest walked in and he excused himself. So very attentive to each guest. Private parking lot seems large enough to accommodate hotel guests. A few fast food options are in walking distance at the truck stop. Hotel market also has frozen foods for sale.

Even told me where to park, the nearest entrance to my room, etc. plus all the usual info of breakfast hours, check out time. He recognized my rewards level as they all do at IHG. So consistent! The property feels newer, or recently renovated. As you can see, room is in decent shape and fairly standard for HIE. I'll be out early. Hope to catch the 6:30am breakfast.
