And now we can even take our little dog. This time I came myself for 4 nights, and stayed on the 3rd floor for the first time; just right for 1 small grandma. My room was near the bathroom and kitchen, which was great, because I brought my own food (health problems & prefer to spend $ on my family). The A/C in the window was noisy when on but worked great and I turned it off at night anyway (It's only May 3). My nebulizer is prob just as noisy. When my husband and I came in Oct. we loved walking down the street to Natalia's café on the corner for the free breakfast at the was included then with our second floor rooms...just fun for us. If you stay on the third floor you have to pay but it's still only $7.95 or so. The kitchen has microwave, reg. fridge, and Kirkland dark coffee we like. (I bring my own decaffe too:-) The staff is great; personable, helped me bring my luggage up without my asking. But know it's European. Hot water took awhile to get to 3rd floor shower...but it's fun to feel like I'm "back to the future" in 1911.... in a novel for a few minutes. I can walk all over town at night in safety and quiet. And this quiet retreat is just what I needed after my spouse's sad and serious diagnosis. I walked nearby beautiful Round Lake Fri. morning and met a new friend, an unexoected dimension, and learned more about resilience facing cancers worse than mine. Count your blessings.

The room was only about $90 a night. A great price. The hotel was built in 1911 and has a lot of character. I'll go there again if I visit that area again.

Rooms are well-appointed with microwaves, fridge that works, and freezes and a nice view of the river. Really nice that they offer snacks and microwaveable items as well as both alcohol and non for sale in the lobby, at not ridiculous prices. The only thing that I would - comment on is the bathroom in the double queen suite is very very small, not a big deal, the door almost touches the toilet, which if you have mobility issues might not be awesome. Would stay again, Best Western, you are killing it. :)

This is the worst moment of my life, and I explained the situation clearly, with documentation available. Even with that, the hotel refused to offer any compassion, flexibility, or basic humanity. They chose to hide behind policy instead of showing empathy to a family dealing with a medical emergency. Most reputable hotels understand that life‑and‑death situations happen and work with guests. This property chose not to. No credit, no refund. I'm sharing this so others know what to expect. If you value empathy, integrity, and decency, I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

Room 126 was next to an exterior door, so we were woke up early by people going in and out. Our bathroom had one bulb out of three working. I also got a huge bruise on my shoulder trying to use the toilet. They placed the vanity so close to the toilet that I kept ramming my shoulder into the sharp corner of the countertop. If there wasn't enough room for that countertop at least round out the sharp corner. It was very uncomfortable trying to even use the toilet. I am a tall athletic build person. I couldn't imagine someone bigger even being able to use it. There were also many stains on the chair and ottoman, so I didn't want to use it. For an almost $200 room I was throughly disappointed. We didn't try breakfast. My husband did get coffee when they brought fresh and he said is was okay.

I called the front desk to get the email so I can send over the details rather than sit on the phone and do them one by one. But she would not do it without a credit card. I called the Hampton Inn down the road and they accommodated my request no issues.

So much art to look at, curiosities tucked in every corner, space to roam and explore! - Get the passport to make your stay even more rewarding and fun! I love the scavenger hunts and the stamps force you to do things you might not normally do on your own accord. - The full pitch and putt course is a relaxing and a fun way to spend a few hours. It was only $25 per person and took us 3 hours. - I signed up for the Makers Tour and highly recommend it! Lots of tastings and great historical facts along the way. - The soaking pools at night were perfect to relax muscles right before bed plus no kids after 8pm. - This hotel doesn't revolve around children. The movies that were showing were rated R and most of the pubs and pool hall are 21+. Kids are welcome - but I've never seen that many kids around which I like, personally. - It's very Dog Friendly!! - The live music is incredible. I've been here for big concerts on the lawn plus mini concerts down the winery hall. They were all amazing. - It can get noisy between 7-11pm especially in weekends! The building is old - not sure about insulation and things! Bring some earplugs, a positive attitude and maybe enjoy an extra drink! Or go during the week for a quieter experience. - The food is a bit pricey but if you are doing the passport it makes a little more sense. Some of my favorites are the Cajun Tots, Portland Dip, any Burger, and the Bagel and Lox Breakfast is Incredible!!!

The Highlights * The Saltwater Outdoor Pool: This was the absolute highlight of our stay. The water is kept at a perfect 38°C (100°F), making it incredibly relaxing. I highly recommend visiting after 8:00 PM when the pool becomes an 21+ area. * Thoughtful Details: The robes provided were high quality and very comfortable. Pro-tip: Be sure to bring flip-flops for the walk to and from the pool area. * Art & Dining: The murals throughout the hotel are fascinating to look at. We also had great experiences at the on-site bars and the Black Rabbit Restaurant, where both the food and the service were excellent. The Room & Stay Quality We specifically booked a room with a private bathroom and shower. However, most rooms at this location utilize communal facilities. Unfortunately, our room was located very close to the shared bathrooms and lavatories. Due to a complete lack of etiquette from other guests using those facilities, it was extremely noisy throughout the night. Because of the poor sleep quality and the noise levels, we likely won't be staying here again. It's a beautiful property, but the layout and noise issues made it difficult to fully enjoy our birthday celebration.

The signage into their parking lot is not clearly marked at the turn so if possible arrive during daylight hours. Just fyi. It is close to an outlet mall, gas station and plenty of restaurants. The hotels looks to have been renovated recently. Our room was clean with all the comforts a traveler may need. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, closet, iron/board, multi-use personal care items and soft towels. Our bottom bed sheet came off in the night for both of us. That's a first. Breakfast includes the basics. Cold cereal & 2%milk, instant oatmeal, juices, coffee/tea, bagels & cream cheese, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. The area was kept very clean. The gentleman who checked us in was very chatty making the check-in process long. He also chatted with us again when we returned from dinner until another guest walked in and he excused himself. So very attentive to each guest.
