It's only about a 2hr drive from where I am but there was a bit of traffic getting out of atlanta on a wed afternoon when we left so we didn't get in till dark. I called to say we might miss the office check in hours (till 6pm) so they kindly left the key in the cabin for us for whenever we arrived which was very helpful. The rooms were clean and kitchen and bathroom had pretty much everything you needed. We also utilized the charcoal grill. Only complaint was the lighting was a tad dark during the night but maybe it's to help you relax. Loved the view of the lake from the cabin, it was beautiful to wake up to. We were also able to bring our dog for a $60 fee. House rule does say no dog on bed so keep that in mind. There was a little doggy station on site and we were able to walk him around the property to potty. He enjoyed his stay and we liked going to the nearby trials in the morning/afternoon for a hike. There's an ingles nearby as well as some other restaurants if you need food options like McDonald's, Dunkin, couple of Pizza chains, and whatever a small town typically has to offer. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Start or finish the day on the back porch gazing at the mountains and Lake Chatuge. We are planning to be back during the summer to take advantage of the boat docks, on-site canoe rental, kids playhouse and a cool swim in the lake. Did I mention the staff? The best part was the 40 foot deck. We had a large family visiting and there was so much room with wraparound seating and a sunken hot tub. During the day our young children played badminton and volleyball out back, they even had a volley ball net set up for play. Blairsville is a small ittle mountain town up near the Georgia and North Carolina state line. Blairsville is home to the tallest peak in Georgia, Brasstown Bald Mountain, part of the Blueridge mountains. There are so many things to do up there (cut down your own Christmas tree at Southern Tree Plantation, tubing, hiking, shopping, horseback riding) and it's just a beautiful town in general. These cabins are nestled on the side of a mountain, right off US19, a main highway in Blairsville. They are in a community of other cabins, but still ensure privacy behind trees and distance. Our cabin was Blackberry Cabin, and it was one of the highest on the property. We have a V6 regular drive Dodge Dakota, and it made it up the gravel road with no problem (after realizing we needed to give it a little more gas than these flat road drivers were used to!) The cabin was fully equipped and gorgeous. We had all the comforts of home plus a wood burning fireplace, and an breathtaking view from the porch. At the entrance of the community, there is a firepit (with pre-chopped wood always stocked), trails to hike along a stream, and fields to play a game of Frisbee if you're so inclined! If you're looking for a safe, comfortable and beautiful mountain community to spend a weekend (or week) at, check out Highland Falls Cabins! You won't be disappointed!

The rooms were a decent size, with comfortable beds and bedding. the bathrooms were nice and clean as well. We enjoyed the first floor lake room and enjoyed access to the property from our room. While the lake was quite a way from the property, it was better than looking out over the parking lot I suppose. S'mores at night were a great treat. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina and had a great time. We were charged twice on the gasoline, but called the next day and they removed a charge. The grounds were in good shape, pool was nice and looks like furniture was upgraded from older posts. We had brunch at The Oaks. It was OK. Two of us had issues with our food. We were credited $4.50 which was an insult, as a portion of our meal was inedible. We discovered some great and reasonably priced area restaurants, so probably would not revisit The Oaks. We would consider returning for another weekend stay and hopeful the resort continues making improvements to the property to match the rates they charge.

I put a pill on the bedside and in the morning when I woke up and grabbed it it turned to powder from being wet. I tried calling the front desk for an hour and got no answer and went down to see if I could speak to someone. No one was there. We did end up finally changing rooms . The carpets in this place are disgusting. They are blasting air freshener on timers through the ventilation that disguises odor, but chokes me so much that I can't sit in the lovely, but very dated lobby. We switched rooms, but the second morning I woke up with ants all over the nightstand. There was no food there, but we found a piece of stuck candy under the bed. I guess they no longer provide shower caps and soap, dishes, and more than one garbage bin per room. The slider door was in disrepair. The second room also had more moisture than it ought to. This place is very dated and like putting lipstick on a pig. We were looking forward to leaving. We went to the restaurant and a hamburger is $35. I will say it tasted very good. And the grounds were lovely. The staff seems to be doing their best with very little. We only saw one ground guy, and the receptionist and 2 room cleaning staff during our 1 week stay. They are trying their best with very little.

The resort is peaceful, quiet, and the perfect place for a weekend getaway. It gave us a chance to enjoy a much-needed digital detox--not just from our phones, but also from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One of the highlights of our stay was the spa experience. We signed up for massages, facials, and the mineral soaks, and everything was absolutely amazing. The treatments were relaxing, rejuvenating, and exactly what we needed to unwind. The spa staff were professional and made us feel pampered from start to finish. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting, and every wine we sampled was excellent. The live entertainment offered on weekend afternoons was also a wonderful touch and added to the relaxing atmosphere. During our stay, we took time to explore downtown Blairsville and discovered several charming family-owned restaurants. One of the things that made our stay even more special was finding a guest book in the cabin where visitors could sign their names and share memories of their stay. This was a memorable and relaxing birthday getaway. My husband had scheduled a massage as a gift for that afternoon. This was probably the worst experience I have had. The therapist was poor in her execution, style and even manner. Before my treatment even started she mentioned an up charge for deep tissue. During my treatment she burped two times and her massage was far from relaxing her massage etiquette as a therapist was poor and as it was my birthday it sort of ruined my whole experience there, which was a shame. I did reach out to the B&B and provided my feedback, was told the spa manager (Tanya) would reach out but she never did. Heard back from the B&B manager and she told me the owner would give me a $50 dollar credit to my treatment the next time! We live almost two hours away so will not be planning on using that any time soon. To be honest after that experience I would not go back to the spa. The b&b was lovely the massage experience not so.

Title: A Blissful Retreat at Lucille's Mountain Top Inn and Spa…read more Rating: (5/5) My partner and I recently enjoyed a two-day stay at Lucille's Mountain Top Inn and Spa, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the impeccable service and breathtaking surroundings left us utterly enchanted. Firstly, I must commend Alex, the multi-talented front desk manager and concierge. Her warm welcome and exceptional hospitality set the tone for our entire stay. Alex not only ensured a smooth check-in but also provided us with valuable information about the resort and nearby attractions. Her dedication to making our stay memorable was truly impressive. Our mornings were filled with culinary delights thanks to the talented chefs, Michael and Linda. There are always 2 courses, and they typically feature some local produce and meats. Michael's breakfast creations on day one were a delightful surprise, with flavors that danced on our taste buds, especially the sausage! Linda, the breakfast chef on day two, continued the culinary excellence with a delectable breakfast that left us craving for more. The eggs with asparagus were amazing and I am super picky about my eggs. Rebecca, the waitress, deserves a special mention for her attentive and friendly service during our meals. She made dining a pleasure, always ready with a smile and quick to accommodate any request. Carla, the kitchen helper, and Cassidy, another member of the front desk and concierge team, contributed to the overall smooth operation of the inn. Their dedication behind the scenes did not go unnoticed, and it's evident that the entire staff at Lucille's is a well-oiled machine. Desserts are also served in the evening and the guests serve themselves and typically joined in the common areas, reading, chatting or playing one of the several board games available. It was delightful way to unwind. The highlight of our stay was the couples massage at the spa, a truly rejuvenating experience. The spa staff exhibited professionalism and skill, creating a tranquil atmosphere that allowed us to unwind and connect on a deeper level. Lucille's Mountain Top Inn and Spa is a place where luxury meets nature, and where every staff member goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. The stunning mountain views, the impeccable service, and the attention to detail make this an oasis of relaxation and romance. We can't wait to return to this hidden gem in the mountains. Thank you, Lucille's, for making our stay unforgettable.

We would have loved to have stayed longer but we considered ourselves lucky to get a room at all during the peak Fall season. We stayed in Room 9 which is on the third floor loft with an interesting pitched ceiling but no windows. The room was great for afternoon napping and it was just footsteps away from the rooftop deck. For a longer stay we would have probably preferred a room on the second floor with windows. I love American history, architecture and Americana so staying in this old circa 1904 bank was fabulous. We even took a peak at the old bank vault that is now used as a wine cellar and pantry inside the restaurant. The hotel staff here is top notch. Everyone was so welcoming and I appreciate that the hotel called before our stay to see if we wanted to make a reservation in The Bistro. The Bistro is a small, quaint, refined restaurant that books full for its dinner service so it's nice that they make sure hotel guests have an opportunity to book first. Our dinner in the Bistro was fabulous - I had the filet while my husband had the Ettouffee. We also had breakfast at The Bistro the following morning which was also very good. In addition to the five-star staff and cozy room, we loved the location of The Everett Hotel. It was walking distance to everything in town including shops, restaurants and the train station. It was also a short drive to Smoky Mountain National Park. As an added bonus, it is right next door to the Swain County Heritage Museum. We were conveniently able to park behind the hotel. Other conveniences we appreciated were the filtered water and coffee in the hallway. A special shoutout to Daniel who made us feel so welcomed.

The lodge felt unloved and in disrepair despite the number of cars in the parking lot. All the bird feeders were empty, pealed paint. It all felt neglected.
