Temps this weekend are forecast to be in the 90's so we were panicking, Bob, the owner of Silva's, heard our issue and dropped everything for us. He left his team at a job 40 minutes away and came to our home to check everything, then immediately provided an estimate for Bryant equipment, a premium brand, that was close to what others said it would likely be to replace the systems with budget systems. He told us he could do the job the next day, so he left us and drove straight to Richmond to pick up our equipment, then he and his team were at our house first thing Thursday morning. I'd called other companies who couldn't even come do the estimate until next week, then would take days to get the equipment. We had an entirely new system, beautifully installed, within 30 hours of calling. Bottom line: This company cares, sells quality equipment, and goes Above and beyond to take care of their customers.

I chose to work with Terrance because he was eager to secure my business and promised to complete the job quickly. To be clear, Terrance does not perform the work himself--he contracts everything out. He even lowered the price slightly, which seemed like a good deal at first. However, when it came time to pay, he added "taxes," which brought the price right back to what it was before he offered the discount. There was also no clear scheduling process, no courtesy calls, and no text notifications before workers arrived. For example, one day I came home from work and minutes later someone rang my doorbell saying they were there to take measurements--without any prior notice. When the installation took place, I was at work and again received no call to let me know what time to expect them. After the unit was installed on July 11, I had to follow up myself to ensure I had all necessary paperwork for warranty purposes. The installers also left behind a large box from packaging and what appeared to be a part from my old unit. Since installation, I have been trying to reach Terrance about follow-up concerns. I have sent multiple texts with no response and only received a reply after I called and left a message--18 days later. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Terrance. His business practices are extremely unprofessional, from poor communication to lack of customer follow-up. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for a contractor who values professionalism and customer service.

Later, I discovered they had taken the power disconnect breaker with them and then blocked my number when I called to ask for its return. I ended up calling Smiley's Heating and Cooling, who saved the day. Turns out, the problem was simply a loose power line under the house. The first company had stolen my power disconnect, which I had to replace for $500. This company is nothing more than a group of con artists, more interested in selling a whole new system than actually fixing the issue. Avoid them at all costs.

They came by to let us know what the issue was, then, after we had the flooring ripped up after a leak detection company marked off where it was, they came with the jackhammer and tore up our cement. Unfortunately, the leak wasn't where detection had marked it. I'm grateful Stephen was find enough to come in on what was supposed to be his day off the next day to continue after we took up the rest of the wood overnight. They did a great job at locating the leak, fixing it, explaining what might have happened to cause it, filling the hole back up and covering it with cement. He informed us that we would need to have the evaporator coil replaced. He said he would work up an estimate and call us later. When he called he informed us that the evaporator coil was still under warranty. He checked on the warranty without us asking. We paid for the labor and the refrigerant but not the evaporator coil. He saved us several thousand dollars. A day later the AC stopped working again and we called him back to see what was wrong. He explained that a capillary tube was leaking and that caused the refrigerant to leak out. He made the repair and told us that there was no charge for the repair because he said it could have possibly been done during the installation of the evaporator coil. Tommy Quick's integrity and honesty is exceptional. I have already recommended him to some of the people I work with and will continue to recommend him. Quick Heating and Air will be my first call when I have any issues with my heating and air.
