Quick drive thru visit: two quarter pounders, fries, and two shakes. Did they ever have a key lime pie (lime/sorbet/sprite?) shake? My husband thought they had one, but they didn't when we visited. He resorted to a orange cream which sufficed. My small chocolate malt was good. The cheeseburgers were hot and cooked to perfection with the cheese melted and present with a lovely ratio to enjoy both burger and hot melted cheesey goodness. The crinkle fries were good, but by the time we got home (5 min away) they were just warm. I love a good fries and shake combo, however, wasn't able to enjoy that luxury with the "room temp" fries. For someone who eats in the car or wants to dine in, I would imagine it could be worthwhile to have everything freshly cooked, hot to order. Came in here on a Friday evening and it was packed out (which unfortunately means that the tables and counters were filled with trash that the staff didn't have time to clean up). Braum's prices are still quite low and the employees were friendly and quick! Would love to see this place cleaned up, but I understand the staff seemed stretched thin. Plenty of parking which is about the only positive. Inside at 8:45pm the store was extremely dirty. Four people making ice cream and no one taking food orders. The young lady helping me was instructed to stop making my order to help others in the food line. That left me standing there while people in line behind me were being served. The manager on duty during the lunch shift is absolutely terrible to communicating service needs to the staff. I was patiently waiting at the counter while an employee was cleaning and the manager yelled at the staff to pay attention to the customers. She caused a scene for absolutely no reason, what kind of a person would want to work for someone so hostile. My grandson and I went to Brahms in Duncanville in search of ice cream. We went inside and there were maybe seven or eight people ahead of us. We were in line at least 40 minutes. This was about 8:40 PM. When it was finally our turn to be waited on, my grandson asked for the candy treat on vanilla ice cream. We were told there was no vanilla. What kind of ice cream restaurant runs out of vanilla? He then asked for cookies and cream. No cookies and cream. I noticed that people ahead of me were not getting what they ordered either. The man in front of us asked for chocolate syrup on his sundae and was told they were out of it. Again, what ice cream place runs out of chocolate syrup? Staff appeared not to be in a hurry even though the line was long on the outside and inside. There were two people working the ice cream line and when it was my turn I had to wait an additional 5 to 7 minutes before the person came up to me. This is the second time in about two weeks that I've gone to the Brahms and then told that they were out of a basic flavor. The first time they were out of butter pecan. I wish I could give them 0 stars. The hot fudge was burnt. I tried to call them to let them know, but the listed number went to a fax machine. So I took it back across town to return it. I live in Grand Prairie and it's 100 degrees outside, but when I arrived the ice cream had melted but they said they couldn't refund it because it looked like I ate too much. I told them it's not a big deal about the money I just really wanted to let them know that their hot fudge tasted like the bottom of a burnt coffee pot and their response was that no one else had complained about it. She looked drained stressed and depressed..by the time another worker stopped running her jaws and looked up to now a line of 8 other ppl she gladly took our order 2 single scoops took 10 minutes each. We saw a commercial about a new fancy sundae & decided to try one. We've gone to this location on several occasions pre-pandemic. It appears they have new management. The older female managers were not there, as usual. It was evident based on the very long wait time & the chaotic work area behind the counter. Everyone wore a mask, however, on the drive through end, the young guys had their masks below the chin, in the presence of the manager. My husband decided he wanted ice cream, so we waited in line for 30-40 minutes. While waiting we noticed a young man preparing the ice cream orders. He wore is mask appropriately, changed his gloves frequently and gave positive direction to a young man that seemed to be new. His name was Moreno Thomas, I asked after he prepared our order. Although this location isn't what it once was, we appreciate the young man for his leadership skills. read more
