We decided last minute to get some ice cream one evening and since we hadn't had dinner yet we had a burger as well. They were really busy and had a full dining room and drive thru line. Luckily the line for dinner/non ice cream orders was empty so we walked right up but waited a minute or two for someone to take our order. We placed our order and found a seat, which all the high chairs were being used so we had the kiddo in our lap, until someone very graciously gave their highchair up because they were about to leave. I had a junior cheeseburger and fries which was good, nothing i am running back for. The brownie fudge sundae was really good. The staff was friendly enough and we got our food in a timely manner. Went in with family this evening and the young kid behind the counter was the rudest person. I was trying to order and he cut me off before I could tell him what ice cream I wanted, then when I tried to correct him before he made the mistake on my order, he got a serious attitude. I was watching him and he was laughing at us and left for a minute and then came back and looked at me and said "is there a problem ", I of course was quick to ask for the manager. My family got involved and it was a whole scene that should Not have happened. Why you have someone like that behind the counter is poor judgement. We decided to stop in after a school competition. We came in with 16 students, 3 chaperones, and one bus driver! Not once did any of the employees roll their eyes or looked annoyed at our crowd of kids that just walked in! They were very patient with us as many of the kids had never been here before! I decided to try the spicy chicken sandwich with fries and a drink! I later noticed you can sub your drink with a shake if you want with NO CHARGE!!! This is unheard of these days! There is always a charge!!! They cranked our kids food out and we got back on the bus and on our way! My chicken sandwich was cooked perfectly! It was spicy and delicious!!! I'm glad I asked the attendant if they had any sauce. She said, "Try the Braum sauce." So happy I asked!!! It was like a spicy mayo ketchup! It was delicious with the fries!! The place is pretty small with a grocery store connected to it when you first walk in. They had everything from vegetables to hot dogs and frozen dinners!!!! I've always liked Braum's - appreciate the concept of no stores further than 300 miles from home base and their prices are straight up unbelievable. Nowhere can you get a giant waffle cone with two scoops of ice cream for $3. Service was fast, restrooms were clean - definitely worth the stop while we were heading up to Fort Worth. read more

Ok - we were on our way back from Dallas to Houston and had to stop at this ice cream joint. It's a grocery store/burger joint/ice cream place all in one! There are a ton of flavors to choose from and I can't say I didn't like any of the flavors - it was creamy and flavorful and fresh. I got the strawberry cheesecake which had lots of strawberry and cheesecake flavors - I just wish it had chunks of cheesecake in it as well. The pistachio almond was lighter in flavor but tasted as it should and none of it was overly sweet. I have to say it was better than Blue Bell flavors - to those of you that love Blue Bell. It was just less artificial tasting and there is a huge selection of frozen yogurt as well. Two cones with double scoops cost less than $5!!! I am not a big ice cream eater, and my family and I already indulged quite a bit on this trip from Houston to Dallas and Denton and back. My mom insisted on stopping at Braum's twice on this trip due to its lack of presence in Houston, so we went to the one in Corsicana on the way (much farther off the freeway) and here in Ennis on the way back. Most of the ice cream was melted from a freezer malfunction, but associate Jeremy offered to put that in a shake. Otherwise, options were limited. My mom got a hot fudge sundae no cherry and my dad, eggnog ice cream (euw). Jeremy was a character and chatted us up despite the other customers waiting, and I did not see anything I wanted that wasn't melted. We peeked around the store part and saw they had a great variety of frozen yogurt flavors (as in butter pecan, etc) and other treats. I did not get anything to eat but I bought my mom a Braum's insulated grocery bag with ice cream scoops on it as part of her birthday present. Just left Braum's in Ennis, TX We were inside the place for about 5 minutes but no one was helping us. A staff took 3 orders from the drive-thru while watching us standing at the counter but never said Hello or help us with our orders. Then my husband asked if we need to go to drive-thru so we can be serviced and she said No then the cook came to the counter while scratching his armpit under his shirt while shouting at us that she will be right with you. We waited again but no one helped us with our orders. It's 11:00 am and we haven't had breakfast then we had bad experience in the place. My husband then decided to leave and go elsewhere since the service is bad, staff not friendly and seems to prioritize the drive-thru more than the customers coming in to have dine-in meal. read more

Just a warning that none of the staff (or other customers that I saw) in this Braums on June 17, 2020 were wearing masks. There was no social distancing or other safety measures, like plexiglass in front of registers to protect employees. It was crazy. Chik-fil-a down the road is locked up tight and and all staff are wearing masks. Same at Starbucks across the street. Someone needs to tell the people here that there is a pandemic happening. We stopped at Braum's on a roadtrip from Dallas back to Houston. We only got a milkshake and a frozen yogurt cone but both were very good. The reason for the 3 stars is the service that we got in the drive thru line. After waiting a very long time, we finally got our order taken, and the waited about another 20 minutes before we got our snacks. We would have gone inside if we didn't have someone behind us. So, we were on our way to DQ until my friend told me about Braum's. He was telling me its like marble slab which I think its like Baskin Robbins (in Houston). Once we stepped in to this place, its 3 things in one (grocery store, ice cream shop, and you can get food (burgers, fries, and etc.)). Pretty old establishment but at the same time pretty neat. They had all the original flavors like any ice cream parlor. Like for example, vanilla, strawberry, peppermint, black walnut, pistachio, and etc. So, my friend got one scoop of black walnut in a cone, and I got single scoop of peanut butter cup in a cup and guess how much was both of our ice cream???? It came out to $2.16 total. Wow! We were amazed on how cheap our ice cream was. ~Price of ice cream = two thumbs up! ~Old and outdated but very clean ~Customer service= awesome! ~Definitely will come back to Braum's So, maybe this might be another tradition that I'm going to do when I go into Dallas. Braums has a special place in my heart. I've always enjoyed their burgers and crinkle cut fries. #2 with jalapeños is my usual. If I had to choose a favorite ice cream, I'd go with brownie sundae with chocolate syrup. Staff has always been friendly. I think Braum's best product is their milk - their chocolate milk tastes like syrup it is so chocolatey (my mom even dilutes it with regular milk) and they concentrate their skim milk so that it doesn't taste watery. Came here for ice cream - was unimpressed by the birthday cake flavor I sampled, but I liked the white chocolate cheesecake flavor and gingerbread flavor that my friends had better. My soft serve was pretty good too, but if I closed my eyes, I couldn't have distinguished between the vanilla and chocolate flavors. read more

Not impressed. Been here multiple times and food is always good. The problem is the service. It's usually not great, but this time it was absolutely terrible. It was shift change and they had no regard to help us or acknowledge us even though they helped the people in front of us no problem. It took 5 minutes to be acknowledged and get our order in. Made eye contact with the girl and she looked at me like I was inconveniencing her and didn't want to come serve me. She finally comes over, and I order. Braums has delicious ice cream obviously!!! Anything ice cream you get is going to be fantastic!...the burgers are delicious when they put effort into it. I just had one and the meat didn't seem hot; like it had been sitting for a while. Overall seems a little under staffed or management does have cleaning as a priority on there list. read more

The first time I went back the same clerk was there and she was rude to me and I had the fear she was going to spit in my milkshake or something because she had me pull ahead to wait for it. Ever seen the movie Lethal Weapon, where the Danny DeVito character tells the main characters "they always screw you at the drive-in?" He very well could have been talking about this Braums. Over several visits, the PA system seems to have problems, resulting in mistakes in take-out orders. Someone should also tell them this is Texas, and we eat mustard on our burgers, and not mayo. Other than that, burgers are first-rate, bursting with flavor and filled with tasty and fresh vegetables. Ice cream is what you'd expect from this chain, and the milk from the dairy section is the best in town by far. read more
