We had a girls trip today and decided to stop here for lunch. I had the chicken salad sandwich which was good. I love pecan pie but nobody in my family does so when I get a chance to get a slice, I do. I was so excited to take my first bite. It was so nasty. Whoa. I have never been into a collin street bakery until today. I've heard things, yes. But it was never a convenient stop. This is a tender, sweet, moist, homemade fruit cake with many flavorful variations. (And free samples!) [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's plenty of seating in their bright open dining room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I couldn't comprehend a pecan bread with tuna salad, so I requested homestyle white egg bread substitutions-- and there's a $3.50 up charge - for white bread! It was explained the white bread slices are significantly larger. I found the homestyle white bread dry and wished I would've just stuck with the original menu recommendation. They got my order wrong. And served me a chicken salad sandwich instead of the tuna I ordered. But to their credit, they did fix it and bring me another sandwich right away. The cup of Cheesy Chicken Enchilada soup was the highlight of my meal. Next time, I probably would just get soup and maybe a cookie for dessert. read more

I didn't know how else to review this place. I bought fruit cakes years ago and I mean probably 30+ from this organization. And I got an ad and I thought well. Let me just buy some cake bites. This was our first visit to any Collins Street Bakery and unfortunately, we weren't overly impressed. First, lunch. We felt the sandwiches were overpriced. As you can see from the pictures, they are VERY heavy on bread and light on filings. We also had no idea that they put no condiments on the sandwiches so they were dry and packed flavor. We found the mayo and mustard packets basically hidden away as we were leaving, so they was disappointing. The take away bakery area where you can grab bread items and their famous cakes was all organized but the prices were, quite frankly, SHOCKING. The bakery counter was the bright spot of our trip. Many of the cookies and other items were reasonably prices and delicious! The register where you pay for any and all transactions was a bit of an unorganized mess. There is no logical place for people to form a line and people come to the register from different directions so it gets awkward and confusing. We would probably only return in we were in the mood for bakery counter items. They do have the best brownies we've ever tasted! read more

Hands down, the best fruitcake I've ever tried, but Vermont has some great ones too. This place holds the traditional old-fashioned fruitcake standards and really makes it booming unlike those breaded dry fruit cakes that I hate walking by in the store... the flavors amazing and they always have a variety to choose from and it's always hard to choose just one that's why you always got a bite and it's hard to choose which ones you want for that year. This is a great alternative to buc-ees for a roadside refresh. It doesn't have the full menu as the original within Corsicana's business district but there are some great sandwiches and some of the best bake goods within the Lone Star State. Try the lemon bars, you'll thank them curse me as they are so delicious and so filling but it's damn near impossible to stop eating them. You'll never go wrong with any cookie and the key lime pie is some of the best ever to come out of an oven. Restroom (men's) is clean enough, can be a little annoying with parking in the summer months with all of the teslas taking up space, but due to the failure of the outlet mall there's multitudes of parking within a very short walk. I haven't tasted the products, so this review reflects entirely on the mail order service, or lack thereof. I placed an order last week and for some reason rather than carry over my billing address as the shipping address, the web site used a different shipping address. I immediately spotted the error and emailed the company. They responded asking for a variety of information, but they couldn't find the order. Finally, they asked for a copy of my credit card bill, which I sent. I never heard back. The order was sent to the wrong address (from which I managed to collect it), but the service was nonexistent. I would not shop here again unless the products are so amazing as to make me forget the pain of them not being able to locate an order with name, order number, credit card info, and billing and shipping addresses. NASTY! Do not come here and waste your time or money. The food is garbage. The service is even worse. Firstly the girl at the register had an attitude. Whatever. We didn't pay much attention to it. We understand people sometimes have bad days. But then you couple bad service with bad food and that's just a recipe for a terrible waste of time and a money. Yuck! My husband got a breakfast sandwich with sausage and egg. It was cold and fake food. The eggs didn't even look real. I got a deli sandwich turkey and ham and added cheese. Got my kids two turkey and cheese sandwiches and they were TERRIBLE! I mean that. They didn't even have mayo. Maybe they wanted me to take the mayo from my sandwich to put on the kids sandwiches. I don't know. Their meals came with a bag of chips. When the sandwiches were brought to us I got up to ask where the chips were. An older lady,with short dirty blonde hair, standing by all the cake mixes, said "they are over there, you get up and get them yourself" with an attitude. How in the h*** am I supposed to know that I can grab my own chips, when there is no sign at the register "hey get your own chips" and the chips are all stacked away in a hidden corner near all the cake mixes????? HOW KAREN???? This place is a joke selling trash food with crappy service. Would leave negative 100 stars if I could. Many years ago we use to order these through the mail. Then I kind of forgot about them. I walked into my supermarket last week (Wegman's, Mt. Laurel, NJ) and there they were. I debated whether I should spend that much money on myself. I said "Oh what the heck, I'm worth it". Oh my word, I had forgotten how wonderful these are. They are worth EVERY penny. Ordered a cheesecake on 11/7/25. After a week and a half of numerous phone calls to customer service, on 11/20/27 was told they were sold out. The website has never shown the plain cheesecake was out of stock. There had no communication up to this point that my order would not ship anytime soon. I feel like this is probably a good product but communication is extremely poor. For this reason I cannot recommend buying products from them. Collin Street Bakery A grand looking white- washed building - looks so spic and span you just HAVE to stop here for some coffee and you WONT be disappointed. Collin Street Bakery has a 100 year old history and they are known for their fruit cakes and man! they have some interesting varieties of those. The huge bakery has a large sitting area with a special lounge if you are there simply to charge your Tesla- oh! Before I forget, Tesla owners get a coffee on the house. They make their bread fresh and one can smell it as soon as you enter. Besides the coffee, cookies and freezer safe cheese cakes, they do have a deli with sandwiches, wraps etc. including veggie options. Priced reasonably for a posh bakery, the whole sandwich was $6.50. The employees are very friendly and approachable, and can answer any questions on their products. Their outdoor seating is quite inviting too. They seem to have some sort if association with Duck Dynasty, I dont know what exactly... They are open 8 to 6 on weekdays and 11-6 on Sundays. read more

If you like it you might like it here because they do have the regular disgusting fruit cake and then an array of other less disgusting fruit cakes. I ordered a deluxe large fruitcake on December 23 2025 and paid for overnight delivery. It never arrived. I called them when they reopened from the holidays, they apologized and said they would get it shipped out since somehow it didn't get shipped out. They also stated that overnight is considered 1-3 days. Again, I didn't receive it. I called them again and it still was not sent out, they refunded the overnight shipment money and stated they would pay for overnight shipping and send it out. Today I called again and received the same scenario and I requested my money back and was told I had to wait until the 19th of this month because they just placed the order again. I told them to cancel it and she would not do that even though it hadn't even been shipped! Now I have to wait another week for something I no longer want to see if it will arrive again.
