Super cute little place in an old Victorian house off the square. I asked for a coffee recommendation, and the girl at the counter said the Sebastian was their most popular but it was really sweet. So I asked for half the pumps, and it was perfect! Well... maybe still a little sweet for my taste, but very close to perfect. Good coffee flavor and hints of sweetness. The potato fryer was down, which sucked for my always-hungry teenage boy, who was between baseball games and wanted to eat the world. But they had a lot of other options and allowed substitutions. Stopped in for breakfast and coffee. Love the fun space. It's a converted house and has rooms upstairs for meeting, a couple long tables for groups, and smaller tables and seating around. Also, some great outdoor porch and patio space. Food and coffee were delicious. I ordered a Churro Cruffin that I intended to have with my coffee - staff nicely asked if I needed it warmed, which I thought was a good idea, but I guess they send the prepared pastries back to the kitchen to warm up and that put my order to the very back. It took close to 45 mins of waiting n asking multiple times for an update and they still couldn't warm up something that normally should take 15secs! Ended up walking away. Place is cute n adorable but clearly they can't manage operations! This White Rhino Coffee + Kitchen eatery is an easy miss, as it kind of looks like a home. It is located across from a law firm and there is plenty of parking in the back. There is outdoor seating in case you wish to bring your four legged pal. While staying in Waxahachie for a week, my husband and I came here a handful of times every day for breakfast or lunch. We also came here one evening so that I could get some tea and a cookie. This location has a library and conference upstairs, wide open space downstairs and a very modern layout and inviting place. Each time we made our order with the staff, they have always been in all smiles and very friendly. From the handful of visits, we ordered: Traditional Breakfast, $9.45 prior to tax- This breakfast meal comes with 2 eggs, choice of sausage or bacon, a few slices of tomato, sourdough toast cut in half and a choice of fresh fruit of potato. My husband picked sausage and potato. I think the size of this is find for me but if I had not ordered a side of fruit for my husband, he may still feel hungry. The sausage is small but my husband liked it. He also liked the potato. Add on fruit, $1.95 (each) prior to tax- If ordered for dine in, I feel that the amount is smaller than ordered to go (as I ordered it both). I felt that ordered to go, it was definitely a pretty generous amount. The fruit was fresh and refreshing. Add on potato, $1.95 prior to tax- Same thing as the fruit, it seems like the portion is larger if ordered to go. I thought the potato was good but a little salty. I would probably ask if they could omit the salt when making it. Two Texas Breakfast Tacos, $6.45 prior to tax- For this, you can choose to have bacon, chorizo or potato. I ordered these 2 different times, once with chorizo and once with potato. I think I prefer it with the chorizo because it was very flavorful and perfect with the eggs. The amount of the tacos is pretty good for a small meal. I liked that each taco is wrapped tightly in tinfoil when ordered to go. Avocado Toast, $7.45 prior to tax- I was surprised to see how much I liked this. This toasted slice of bread is topped with ricotta and creamy avocado. It was topped with arugula. It was pretty tasty and perfectly seasoned. I liked this as a nice light breakfast. Grilled Cheese Sandwich, $5.45 prior to tax- Just average, but I ordered it to take with me on the plane. I just thought this would pack well. Wouldn't recommend ordering this. Classic French Toast, $8.95 prior to tax- My husband ordered this and thought it was great. I didn't have any since he took this with him to work. Large Chai Tea, $5 prior to tax- A perfect brewed cup of tea, really was perfect for a cold evening. Chocolate Chip cookie, $3 prior to tax- This cookie is pretty big and surprised it only cost $3. Both my husband and I liked this cookie and I would definitely order this again if I lived by here. Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, $4 prior to tax- I was surprised this cookie was charged an extra $1 because it is gluten free. There are no prices and so I didn't know how much this was and only found out on the receipt. Also a big cookie, as the same size as the chocolate chip. Was a pretty good cookie. Please note that if you come an hour to closing, they may not have all their baked goods available, as some of the other cookies I wanted to purchase already sold out. T-Shirt, $15 prior to tax- My husband and I each decided to get the "Save the chubby unicorns" shirt, with a rhino in the middle of the shirt. The shirt is very thin though but am glad we still bought one. Overall, we had a good experience with the White Rhino Coffee + Kitchen and would definitely come back. read more

I came here for breakfast on my way back to Houston from Dallas, and it was a nice little stop. I ordered a scramble with spinach, cheese, sausage, pico, and mushrooms. It was pretty tasty--nice sized portion and cooked well. I also had the snickerdoodle latte, which was a bit lukewarm and weakly spiced and sweetened for my taste. Overall it came to almost $25, which felt like a lot for what it was, so the pricing felt a little off. There was plenty of seating and parking, and it didn't get full until after 9 am. read more

We were staying at a local B&B and got our breakfast comped here as part of our stay. Let me start by saying this is a super cute place, but the counter service at 10 am was slowwwww. It was a Sunday morning so I can have some grace for this since we were all probably sleepy. :) I got the regular latte with almond milk and the build your own scramble, with spinach, mushrooms, mexican cheese blend and egg whites. It was so tasty! And I thoroughly enjoyed the latte! My mom ordered something similar and enjoyed hers too. I really wish they would open this place in Houston, as I would love to go, but sadly, I guess I will have to make the trip back to my birthplace of Waxahachie to enjoy it again! :) read more

The White Rhino locations never seem to disappoint. I've enjoyed every beverage and dessert I've ever had at one and tonite was no exception. My Cafe au Lait was smooth and my husband enjoyed his simple brewed coffee just as much. This spacious White Rhino also offers real breakfast along with the usual pastries and desserts. We had stopped in this evening to finally check out the 3 year old location near the heart of downtown. Although the choice of a real Victorian home for the Waxahachie White Rhino is perfection, the gutted grey and white interior is frankly stark and underwhelming. The designers chose to leave a few original touches; but on the whole, it's like a stripped down luxury car. They carried the grey and white outdoor paint scheme indoors and applied it to a fair amount of wall space. There's modern grey furniture and drab drapery in the large communal spaces throughout the two story building. Some plants here and there and a fireplace on each floor bring some warmth to the interior; but it's not really a place I would want to spend much time in. Maybe it seems warmer in the daytime. The porches however are redemptive. Typical for Victorian homes, they offer lovely outdoor seating. A patio in back has a large communal space for groups and what appears to be a stage. I also noted at least two charging stations for electric vehicles in the parking lot! read more

Yall, this place is magnificent! I have known this place was here for a while but just now got around to trying it. It is in an older house and seems to be completely renovated. The décor is very "magnolia" like and I just want to spend all day here reading and trying everything on the menu. Instead I just had coffee and tried the Belgian waffle with strawberry compote, which was delicious and sweet. My husband tried the Johnny Cake Chicken and Waffle....that was so delish. Of Course I tried his and it was savory, compared to what I ordered. I kinda was wishing I ordered what he ordered....lol So clean in side and the employees were all friendly and working hard. There is street parking and a small parking lot in the back. Outside and Inside seating. They have shirts and socks for sale along with ground coffee and coffee mugs. I went to White Rhino today hoping to get a taste of a local coffee shop. I order a large iced Sebastian with oat milk. (The large is only 16oz?) I also was here with my SO so I got a second one, two sandwiches and a cookie. Over 30 dollars for my meal with two Jimmy dean looking sandwiches. I will admit the oatmeal cookie was good af tho. The environment was okay but the baristas behind bar give you weird stares while you're about to order. Overall too expensive for what it is but otherwise the coffee is good. read more

This is a wonderful place with lots of nooks and crannies to sit, eat, and work which is exactly what I did there in a recent Saturday afternoon. The outdoor seating is varied for different purposes/groups and gives a casual relaxation vibe. I had a yummy chicken sandwich (not a coffee drinker...sorry) and chocolate chip cookie. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and even the other patrons are pleasant. It is a great place to go to sit with a friend to talk or just to relax with something sweet with your coffee. They even have a large room upstairs for conference meetings that looked as it would accommodate 10-12 folks easily around the table. I will be back! read more

This is based on my gluten free order......First of all my gluten loving husband said the coffee and breakfast tacos were DELICIOUS. I ordered and enjoyed black tea. I also ordered GF breakfast tacos with bacon. I ate 2-3 bites and waited just to see if I would react. I did. It was fast and furious. The coffee shop was extremely busy and I forgot to ask about cross contamination. I'm thinking that the gf tortillas may have been cooked on the same space as the normal tortillas. I honestly am not sure. In the future if I cannot find gf breakfast and am unsure about a new restaurant I will only order the eggs with no tortilla OR will question about cross contamination which I should have done. read more

It's in an old house and it is the perfect work environment. It's quiet with several different areas or rooms to sit in. What a lovely place in Waxahachie! First off, the coffee is delicious. They offer all of the typical versions would expect at a coffeehouse but their signature menu is what stands out. The menu reads pretty well which I translate to tastiness. And yep, that was true! I ordered the "whole lotta latte" and "snickerdoodle" and LOVED them. I also got mine with a dairy substitute. So. Delicious. Since I was on a to go run, I picked up some small pastries. However the word on the street is that the rest of their menu is pretty tasty. I will have to try that out next time. Also, they had Emporium Pies! I had this once at another Thanksgiving get together and it was pretty delicious ! Beyond stellar coffee and food, the decor in the place is amazing! Magazine worthy really! It's warm and inviting, and just screams for you to sit a while and enjoy that cup of Joe. When I went, they were doing work on the outside which will be great for spring. tried to place an online order, couldn't do that because you can't make an online order without signing up. When i signed up they asked me to verify my email with a code. they sent me NO code, in my email they sent me an activation button. but on my order they kept asking for a verification number. so i couldn't place the online order even though i was in a rush. The vanilla latte was a 3/10 by the way. All that trouble for a trash coffee. I knew it was going to be trash based on the color. The Waxahachie location is so quaint and charming, we really enjoyed walking through the victorian-style house, and checking out all the rooms upstairs. There's a library area, a large conference room, outdoor seating areas, as well as large and small tables in the main dining area. The staff were doing their best to keep up with the Sunday lunch crowd and kept the line moving quickly. We had the chicken salad sandwich and the eggs Benedict. The chicken salad was different than I expected; large chunks of chicken rather than shredded chicken. It came on a wheat toast with arugula and pickled red onions (those were so good). The eggs Benedict was delicious and came served over sliced avocado with a side of sausage patties. The cold brew was amazing...great flavor and very smooth...the chai latte was a bit sweet for my taste, so next time I'll ask for a little less of the chai syrup, or I'll make it a dirty chai; added shot of espresso and it'll be perfect. I'd definitely recommend this place for friends and family, or, book their conference room for your next work meeting...it's the perfect spot! read more

Had a "breakfast" that included a hot choc. and a hash brown benedict and I a mocha with two texas breakfast tacos. Facilities were fine, my wife's Benedict was very good, but cold. My mocha wasn't as hot as I like it (180 degrees), but good and the warm tacos had great flavor. We would come back but if ordering the Benedict we would ask that it be hot. read more

On my way to Dallas and stopped at a restaurant in Waxahachie because they had an electric charging station for my car. I called to make sure the restaurant was open and still serving since I would get there right before two. They said yes until 7 PM. I got there and they had removed their electric car charging stations, I got there about 10 minutes till two and the girl told me that they had already closed the kitchen. I went ahead and got a sandwich and some kombucha & went to my table. The kombucha exploded all over the table and me when I opened it. I had to go get the girl to come clean it off. I asked her to clean it off while I went to the restroom. Both of their downstairs restrooms were out of order. I had kombucha all over my arms and they told me I had to go upstairs. I am actually disabled but today my foot is in a cast and I said I just needed to wash off the kombucha. I struggled upstairs where one of the two bathrooms was also out of order and the second one occupied. I stood there with all over my hands and arms. I purchased avocado toast & bit down really hard on an end stem piece. I was about to walk out of the restaurant and just leave everything on the table, but then finally found a manager and demanded a refund on the kombucha. He acted like I was some kind of idiot and said that's what happens when you get kombucha. I drink kombucha every day. In addition to exploding this had absolutely no flavor. Not happy! read more

It doesn't get any better. Great ambience, great coffee and food selections and Texas hospitality. This location is a super photogenic renovated old house. Parking is out back. There is also nice patio and porch seating. Order at the counter and get a number, they will bring your order to you. They have excellent coffees roasted by Tweed. I recommend choosing a pour over. The menu has a variety of coffee and non-coffee beverages. There is cold food options & bottle drinks if you are on the go. The menu has great all day food items. We just grabbed an order of house made kettle chips with dipping sauces; house BBQ & dill ranch. It was a perfect snack. We have also been here for brunch and had the biscuits and gravy, and another time for avocado toast. This place is really a class act. The lighting, the artwork, the menu, the staff. I came in on the way to Dallas. Rhino looked promising. I'm a coffee snob and with the reviews, I expected amazing coffee. Maps and Waze directs you to the front of the house/cafe but you need to find the tiny alley on the right side and drive to the back. Parking lacks. There's just not enough of it so you may need to park on the street. The back of the place doesn't exactly welcome you in. It felt as if I needed to walk around to the front instead. No welcome or enter sign. The back patio area was dirty with trash and crumbs on the couches, obviously ignored. The staff inside weren't busy. They were chatting and standing around. The place is really loud inside and can have one feel like they need to whisper. With every slight noise, people looked up to see what was happening. It was definitely a weird feeling. It just felt stuffy. Nothing anyone can fix. Some places are like that. I ordered two muffins and an iced latte. No coconut milk was available so I opted for oat. I looked around for a place to sit and as I walked around, people looked up without expression as I smiled and said hi as I searched for a seat. None available. There's a staircase but no sign saying more seating or do not enter so I decided to just stand around and wait. I liked that they wanted the place to feel like home with clothes chairs and couches. I wanted to try the coffee before buying a bag. I got my coffee and it wasn't great. No strong coffee flavor. Barely tasted the espresso. I sat outside on a couch but it just felt uncomfortable with the crumbs and stains. The muffins were good at least. Staff was okay. No smiles or anything. No one truly happy to see guests. The furniture downstairs in the living room area is in need of serious cleaning and replacement. It is the same furniture when they first opened and you are sitting on springs or in a hole regarding the couch and loveseat. They are frequently out of items on the menu and need additional drink sizes. Cups are small for the cost. They have struggled keeping the place cool in the summer months as well. Plus, their driveway needs repaving. There have been huge holes in it. I broke a strut on my car because of them. I haven't been upstairs in quite a while, so I can't comment on that.
