Let me start by saying, we have been to this restaurant and location before. Typically, the service is okay, today it was terrible. Took a while for anyone to take our drink orders. I ordered ice tea, husband ordered coffee and orange juice. Throughout the meal, never offered refills for the coffee or tea and had to ask twice to get the coffee refilled. One bus person was told, and he literally just walked away and didnt even go near the coffee. Never returned, never looked our way and realized oh darn I forgot, nothing. Told the server once, she forgot, then when she passed, pointed to the coffee finally got some. Morning breakfast, I would think passing coffee would just be a norm. For food, I had the corned beef Bennie and it was good. Portions were okay. Husband had biscuits and gravy with eggs and hash browns, hash browns were burnt. Not very good. Overall, the food is good, the service is iffy. And I am not a prude, but honestly the attire they wear is a little off-putting. Short shorts, baggie shirts that are old and worn, and crochet vests. Holey jeans, short leggings. I don't know, not looking for a uniform, but maybe just a little bit cleaner and more presentable. read more

Never again. Took just over an hour for 5 of us to get a seat. Took another hour for the server to take out order and deliver the food for a 15 mn meal and the food was mediocre. Very loud in there. We were told "it will go fast" and that it'd take about 15-20 minutes. Wow what an underestimation. Try waiting for a seat and food with a 3 and 6 year old for this long when everyone is already hungry. We'd have found a different spot had we known it'd take so long. Staff were friendly, I absolutely love their cold brew coffee with Irish cream flavoring, I didn't even need creamer (true first for me!). Last minute call and they were able to accommodate us. We had 40+ people with 7 children. They were gracious, patient, loving, caring, took care of us and helped us celebrate my Dad, who was a great Husband, Dad, Granddad and Great Granddad. Have eaten here multiple times and have enjoyed it. Hit and miss but acceptable up until today. This place is always crowded. So be patient. I ordered the Scramble Skillet and my wife ordered the Oatmeal with Bananas. My Skillet was seriously overcooked. Not only that it had zero amount of sauteed onions but plenty of onion skins. Seriously??? I sent it back and got Bisquits and Gravy in which I've had multiple times. Nothing wrong with the biscuits or even the sausage gravy but literally no flavor. My wife's Oatmeal with side of bacon was very good. Just too large a bowl. Our service was slow and almost non existent. This is very consistent with past visits. Total bill was $32 and with tip $38. This review is from multiple visits but the service is always attentive and kind. Sometimes it can take long to receive your food and some of the portions are very small for the price. There are many tables in the larger dining area which can make it very loud and difficult to navigate around in. Caleb is a fantastic server, conversationalist, and gentleman. He told us his two favorite entrees are the chicken fried steak (grits and eggs over easy, whole wheat toast) and the chilaquiles, with the chicken fried steak being the breakfast he ate every day for THREE YEARS. And the chilaquiles are recent, he said I guess those are the runner up. So yeah, we got the best chicken fried steak in the world at this place in the middle of nowhere, TX. It had a perfectly crispy and seasoned crust that didn't detach from the steak (I'm a chicken fried steak connoisseur). Grits? Fantastic. I'd absolutely go back! But most importantly, this seems to be a community stronghold for the small town it calls home, and in one out of every three places you go will have a person in a Butter and Grace shirt-- But yeah. April 21, 2025 awesome cute country restaurant! Hubby and I have passed this place several times and saw it always packed. So we decided to try it on our anniversary because we wanted Mimosas. Had the meat omelette and Belgian waffle. The atmosphere was super cute. The tables were spaced far enough apart that you didn't feel cramped. As I always do, I'll try to give a complete review with the good the better the bad and the worst. This is our first time here, hubby drove to take to me to brunch and this placed popped up. When we got here the place was full, and it gave a good vibe. We immediately got placed in a table, to the right next the window, all the waiters were young males, wearing shirts and a uniform t shirt. Time was 1:50 pm and we ask about the coffee and pie offer .. he said it starts at two. We asked if he could wave the 10 minutes and he said no. I ordered a coffee and my husband order a Coke Zero. The guy forgot to bring the drinks for a very long time .. then he brought them and took our order, so I asked him it's always two can I get the coffee and pie offer and he said ok. Food come and it was disgusting. Mine did not have any salt whatsoever, it was dry and tasteless.. the grids were cold. I forgot to mentioned we did get corn bread that was delicious .. fresh and tasty. Actually that is the only thing that we enjoyed. Then my husband who usually never complains asks me to tastes his plate. It looked like that it had just come out of a can, cold and dull. He said the name of the plate included the words "hot" but it was not spicy neither was it heated. We did not finish the plates. And we asked for the pie. While we waited I noticed one of the servers sitting in one of the tables behind the window, the table had two woman and one young lady. The lady passed a vaping device to the server, to which one of the other women prevented her or made some movement to tell her to hide the vape.. so she put it down, wrapped on a napkins and passed it to the waiter.. I told my husband what was going on and he started to turn back to see if they noticed we are enjoying the view but the acted normal. Eventually the server hit the vape and went back towards the kitchen. It turns out that one of the ladies that was sitting there enabling this situation stood up and came to our table to ask " is everything fine " .. to which I was going to complaint by my husband would not let me .. We waited and waited and then the original server brought the receipt .. we told him we were waiting for the pie.. at this point it was around 2:30 he sent somebody else to check on us. Two different guys came and we told them we were waiting for the pie.. Pie never came, at this point the place is basically empty, there is only one table with 6 or seven people and a table with two and us. Our server comes now apologizing that they are having a rush hour and finally brought the pie. Here is the picture of the pie. You could tell it has been there for at least a couple of days .. wasn't fresh at all. My husband who is a foodie is thinking .. we may come back and order something different to give this place a second try. I won't come back. It's not worth the 33 + 5 tip dollars we paid for food we did not event eat .. and by the way they did charge the coffee and the pie separately. And they didn't refill the drinks read more

If you're in Waxahachie, this is a MUST. We stopped here on our way back home. We were searching for an option for lunch and weee amazed by just how many options the menu had. The staff were all super helpful and friendly and the food was simply incredible. We got several items knowing we could take stuff back and we didn't regret it at all. Peach Cinnamon Roll? The cream cheese had just enough of the peach flavor in it. Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal - my wife loves oatmeal, I don't mind it and my daughter usually won't touch it. But we ALL loved it. They had a fall specialty item - S'mores Stuffed French Toast. Simply amazing. Creamy, dreamy chocolate spread between two pieces of French toast that's topped with mini marshmallows and whip cream. Heaven. The bacon is crisped just right, and the flavor profile just keeps hitting even after that initial bite. I got the brisket cheddar biscuit... KILLER. Two soft biscuits topped with sliced brisket that's packed with flavor. Then topped with cheddar cheese and an egg of your style and potatoes (I got the home fries). Hands down perfection.
