We are on a spring break road trip and seen many Braun's locations along the way in several states we visited. Decided to give it a try. Good thing we had a few extra minutes because the service was extremely slow. The food was delicious as was the ice cream. The entire location was very clean and the employees were friendly. There is plenty of seating with choices of booths, low tables or bar height tables. The burgers were cooked perfectly and the Sundays huge. Mine was not made correctly but it was still good. It seems they could use more employees. I did not take off stars for lack of help. Also the stars are based on fast food not reauraunts. read more

Of you're stopping in just for ice cream, try their banana fudge sundae. The hot fudge is very rich and unlike any I've had before. The only downside...the ice cream line moves a bit slow. For instance, the hashbrown rounds are always greasy and over cooked and worst offense, they have the WORST soft drinks. I've been a customer here for a long time and had to create an account just to review. Their service is horrible, and with my most recent visit it took them about 45 minutes to get our food. This has to be the dirtiest and slowest Braum's I have ever been to. We only got a few shakes and 2 sundae's and we were there almost 30 minutes. The bathroom had no toilet paper, all trash cans were overflowing, everything behind the counter was filthy including the workers uniforms and for the bonus there was a cockroach near the bathroom. Rangeline Rd Braum's is pretty good. We just went to the 26th & Main -- a big fail so far. I know they just opened, but give them a month to work out the kinks. The food and service is pretty good, but PLEASE turn off that damned beeping behind the counter. I realize it's probably your fryer letting you know the fries are done, but to let it keep beeping for 5 minutes is outrageous!! While you're at it, turn down the lobby music. we have just left for ohio from oklahoma there was a new lady and i was trying to order the spicy chicken sandwich and she was constantly asking me questions about it like what number do want a shake and i would say no and she would ask again begging me to get a shake. my friend then ordered a crispy chicken sandwich and she was given a cheeseburger so she was like ok no problem i will sort it out so she went up and told the new lady the problem and then she came to our table and was like well she (talking about me) didnt order the chicken sandwich so thats yours and i looked at the cashier and said yes i did and handed her the receipt she looked and was like well i put everything in the system right so i dont know what the problem is and walked away. so my friend got another sandwich and sat back dow and it was another cheese burger so she went back up there and told them and the same cashier told her well i dont know what you want me to do because i put it in right so take it up with the kitchen. so she did and she finally got her sandwic. and between all of this the place was disgusting so gross the tables were sticky and the condim were in squeeze bott but they were everywhere and the bathrooms stunk so bad. read more

So, I get my new, correctly made bagel and bite into it there was a small piece of plastic in it. Nice, nice, nice: Nice clean store, nice customers and nice clean wash rooms. The ice cream is good and reasonably priced. I nice selection of flavors and types of sundaes. I wanted to try them all. My aunt had a coffee. When the cashier hand me a cup I was skeptical. I expected to see him pouring freshly brewed coffee from a glass pot. I was directed to a large dispenser near the tables. My aunt said it was good - she has been drinking coffee for decades so I just her judgment. The nicest part of my visit was the the very nice cashier. I was I had gotten his name. Growing up in Oklahoma, Braum's Ice Cream Store was a constant in my life. I remember going in on a hot summer night w/ my family and getting a scoop of ice cream or sharing a banana split my brothers. Now that I live in KC this is one of the things I miss most and visit every time I make the trip south to OK. And although my preferences of what I order have changed, the environment is exactly how I remember! When you walk into any of the Braum's you will see the same sight. Tables full of people enjoying a slice of time with one another, enjoying their cone or sundae as well as each others company. Don't mistake this place for JUST an ice cream shop they have an entire little store area where you can buy your necessities and they have some of the best products you will find anywhere. The thing about Braum's is that that everything is fresh and they only have stores they can reach within a few hours to ensure this quality is not compromised. Although I would love to have a store in my current hometown of KC I greatly appreciate the fact they won't sacrifice quality for profit. Next time you find yourself traveling South on 35 to Wichita, South on 169 to Independence, KS or South on 71 to Joplin, stop off at Braum's to stretch your legs and enjoy scoop of Americana. Paula was great! They were out of fudge topping to sell. She called numerous stores for us since we live out of state and stock up when we visit family.
