First time at Brave Kitty and absolutely loved the service and how friendly and kind Ashley was! As someone who is directionally challenged I was a bit confused finding the location and Waze had me in a completely different direction (don't use Waze!) I called ahead to advise I was lost and running several minutes behind and the person over the phone was so helpful in guiding me with directions and could probably tell I was frazzled. When I arrived finally Ashley was patiently waiting and very helpful and also just had something about her that made me feel instantly comfortable. I genuinely can't recommend this place enough! Ashley was amazing! She was so chill. The vibe there was super laid back and comfortable. Place is immaculate, I loved that I had to be let in, just cause like in most places in LA, have homeless around. I felt safe. Parking for me was pretty easy for a Sunday. I got an all clean Brazilian wax, it has been many years since I've considered it due to my last experience being rather painful. They were quick and painless. I had a Brazilian wax with Margaret and it was such a great experience! I was in and out of the building within 15 minutes, and she took it allllll off me with minimal pain. She kept me engaged in conversation the whole time, which helped keep my mind off the wax. She gave me good advice on how to take care of my fresh wax which I really appreciated, that's not something I've always had at previous studios/salons. I also want to note that the ambiance of the actual studio is super cute. Since it's almost Halloween, they had some fun Halloween decorations up, and they also had a ton of cat-themed stuff all around. They even had some fun cat pictures on the ceiling above the waxing table so you can look at them while you're getting waxed!!! The doorbell is also a meowing sound which is ADORABLE. Parking is easy, at least at 10am on a Sunday. It's a 30 minute lot which was plenty of time for getting one area done. I'll definitely be coming back when I'm ready for the next round! I called and spoke with someone at this salon about getting a Brazilian with hard wax. The lady over the phone assured me that it was no problem. She told me that since I want a hard wax Brazilian that the cost will be $70.00. Soft wax Brazillan's are $55.00, but since I wanted hard wax I would have to pay $70.00. I agreed and booked the appointment.  I arrived on time, but had to wait about ten minutes because the owner was working on someone else. It was soon my turn. She invited me into the room and the conversation went something like this: Owner: You're here for a soft wax Brazilian right? Me: No, I booked a hard wax Brazilian. Owner: (annoyed, and upset) You are supposed to tell us that at the time when you book your appointment. Me: I did. Then proceeded to show her the confirmation on my phone. Owner: Well, I don't do hard waxes. Me: What?! Why did the scheduler allow me to book a hard wax with you when that is not something you do or know how to do? (((I would describe her demeanor as confrontational))) Owner: Well, I CAN do it, but it's something I am not comfortable with. Me: (standing there having to make a difficult decision to either walk away or allow her to "try" hard wax on me). Owner: My specialty is soft wax. I promise you, I can give you the same result with soft wax as hard. Me: Soft wax gives me ingrown hairs. It's not good for me. Owner: I promise my soft wax won't. Me: (somehow I felt comfortable enough to derobe and let her wax me considering how tense everything was. She missed quite a lot of hairs. A lot actually. But she removed them as I pointed them out. We were done. I got dressed, and met her at the register. I paid, tipped, and that was it.  RESULT: Here I am today with some of the worst hyperpigmentation and ingrown hairs I have ever experienced.  PARKING: Parking is free and easy. This place is located in a tiny stripmall on the corner.  SALON: The salon is clean. read more
