Helena, owner of Paradise Nails & Spa, is wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. She was the one who gave me a mani & pedi too. She has decades of experience and gives great recommendations. Her location is incredibly unique because they do not use acrylic nail sets--only regular polish and gel--which means no harsh chemical smells! It was truly a delight. I didn't even notice at first because I rarely get my nails done but when it was mentioned, I was astonished. I've never been to a salon like that before. The walls are adorned with unique 3D art that Helena has made herself. It's incredibly impressive but unfortunately out of my price range. If you appreciate art, this will only make your visit to Paradise even more special. I will DEFINITELY be coming here again and inviting all of my friends. I'm only hoping my raving review doesn't book her up too much for when I want to come back, ha! read more

You guys. Idk how this place has 4.4 stars. I made the mistake of going without looking at the pics or reading some of the 1-star reviews and whatever you do, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! Things to note: 1. APPTS MEAN NUTTIN: As other reviewers have mentioned, if you have an appointment, don't expect to be seen at that time. They have no regard for time and are slow af. I had a 3pm and eventually got seen at 330pm. 2. INTERIOR IS GROSS: The interior is dirty and decrepit. Everything looks ancient, dusty fake flowers and weird 3D framed art all over the wall, and grimy floors and furniture. Pretty sure I caught a disease from just sitting on their couch. 3. DON'T DISINFECT TOOLS. The ladies scoot their little carts around from one person to the next without cleaning or switching out their tools in btwn AND I literally saw them use the same foot scrubber square thing that they used on me for the next girl -- meaning it was probably already used when they used it on me and I could srsly throw up just thinking about it. 4. THEY BAKE IN HIDDEN FEES. They tell you to pick out a color from a bunch of fake painted nails (rather than choosing your color based on a bottle) which, alone, was a first for me. And then they will paint your nails with your color of choice and later charge you extra "because it was OPI or ESSIE"?!? Such a scam b/c I was never given a choice / there was no indication that the color I was even choosing was OPI or ESSIE -- it was just a painted fake nail. And also, what nail salon charges you extra for those brands? That's standard polish. Otherwise you get what? Sally Hansen?? 5. NAILS CHIPPED 2 DAYS IN - what did I even pay for? All my nails are chipped and I had to take off my polish a few days after. Lame. Never going back. And neither should you. read more

Paradise Nails deserves all the praise--it's my new go-to salon. The owner is amazing and a big part of why this salon is so great. She is kind, caring, detail-oriented, and hardworking. She's always there, and I can call ahead to book a same-day appointment. It's clear how much precision and care she puts into painting your nails. Helena the artistic lady behind the multimedia art on the wall treated my toenails to a pretty design. What a very special lady. Very artistic. For the past 30 years, she has been doing nails and also creating art worthy of being in galleries. The customer service here is outstanding. Mellow, cool staff and noticeably a very healthy salon place. You don't smell the usual toxic chemical common in salons. Place is clean and calming. I asked Helena when do find time to create the art and she said 'I don't sleep' it's her therapy she added. That's besides catering to her nail clients for the past 17-20 years. What an. Helena is the best! I've Ben going there for years and she's so fast. She always does a great job on my eyebrows and when I get a pedicure, if she has time she'll do a design for me. I can show her a picture on my phone or just let her do her own thing. And I love all the art she has on her walls which she does herself. Very creative person. I've been to Paradise Nails twice now and have gotten two gel manicures and one gel pedicure. Everyone is extremely nice there and Helena is super precise and attentive when she does your nails. My one complaint is that she does my gel suuuper thin and goes a little to quickly. The first time I came in for just a pedicure and she only did a few layers of gel and did it really fast, sometimes not even letting the full 60 seconds finish. They chipped within a week, which was super disappointing. I decided to give them another shot and came back for a gel manicure and pedicure. I even asked her for one more layer of gel, which she happily did. And again, then chipped within five days!! Usually I can get my gel to last 2-3 weeks. My pedicure is still going strong, but I feel like pedicures always last longer. So unfortunately, I'll have to continue my search for a new nail spot. read more

I think COVID-19 is one of the biggest triggers to realize that you should never take anything granted. And while I've never been the biggest manicure or pedicure devotee, I truly missed not having Paradise Nails & Spa for most of 2020. I would occasionally past by its shuttered space and peak in to see if it had reopened amidst the intermittent salon openings based on State/County restrictions. Well, it's open again now and it's looking better than ever! Remodeled seat covers and hanging plastic sheets make the place look new while also demonstrating their commitment to COVID-19 safety compliance. I spoke to one of the owners, and she explained how they work to meet the reduced indoor capacity. For that reason, I would definitely recommend making an appointment in advance given the need for sufficient spacing between customers. Facial coverings are required for customers, and my manicurist wore her mask consistently during my visit. As always, the manicure and pedicure work was stellar, and I've always appreciated how friendly their employees, leading to memorable chats as you get your services completed. read more

Yup, this place is a gem. Took a chance on this place cuz I needed my nails done for an event, and I am just blown away by the service they provide here. I've been to many salons in LA and most places treat you like you're a number- they want you in and out. I never minded that but when you work with Helena OMG it's nail care to another level. Helena's passion for nails is infectious. She greats you with kindness and helps you choose a color that will make you sparkle. Clean Affordable & Friendly! I stopped in here while staying nearby on vacation in need of a Pedicure. $18 for a pedi is a great deal by NY standards. My tech did a great job of cleaning my cuticles and a nice massage. Polish job was great also. The decor is dated and I'm not crazy about the fabric chairs but the service and the product is the most important so I absolutely recommend this spot. This is an updated to my review during COVID-19 safety measures. I was very reluctant to visit a nail salon during this pandemic, but (TMI) I got a painful ingrown toenail and I knows my nail tech Helena was my go to. I arrived at 10:30am and was the first client, they require face masks, hand sanitizing your hands and temperature checks before entering the salon. I signed a waiver for contact tracing required by the state. They sanitized my chair and equipment in front of me before sitting. Services was great and detailed as always. The owner Helena was responsible for my hands and I saw attention to detail I've never seen before; she grabbed a separate thin brush to add polish to the tip of my nail and dried them before adding a top coat to prevent chipping.
