Getty Images bought out Jupiter Images and officially took over on Monday, 2/23/09. On Tuesday, 2/24/09, an email was sent to everyone in JI informing them GI leadership team would be coming to meet/talk to them individually. Wednesday, 2/25/09, the massacre started. EVERYONE at JI was given an individualized 'death' plan. NO ONE escaped. A story was brocasted in Peoria, IL, where one of JI's office is located. BLOGGERS BEWARE!…read more Getty Images does not watermark many of their images. As a result, when searching for images in search engines, pay close attention to the source. If you see the Getty name and are interested in the image, be sure to pay for it. Do not grab the image from the search engine site. Getty has an active program in place to seek out those who have mistakenly used their images. They immediately turn over ANY unauthorized use of their images to a law firm which makes the Mob look tame. Moreover, they apply usurious rates to their images and seek thousands of dollars in damages for images worth nothing or very little. This appears to be their business model, not the exception. They are very heavy handed, if not outright evil in their approach. If you can avoid Getty, do so.

As a resident of West Hollywood, I've read LA Weekly for decades. But 6 months ago, all of the…read moreplaces I would get it from every week, just stopped carrying it. I contacted them and was offered 3 other locations. But now, they've disappeared from those locations, as well. I've tried contacting them by phone and via their website. But repeatedly, no one answers the phone, and they repeatedly never respond to voicemail messages. They used to, but not anymore. I know they were sold again recently, so it's starting to appear that they (like other print publications) may have stopped their printed editions in favor of just being made available online. All said, they've always had GREAT content, but WHEN or IF you can pick up a copy locally anymore. And at least either answer your phone or respond to inquiries because we've started to lose interest.

LA Weekly, I truly expected you to be more in-line with other alternative newsweekly publications…read more Instead, you seem rather superficial, just like so much other fluff in this city of angles (yes, angles). My expectations for pseudo-investigative journalism and political pieces flanked by editorials filled with foaming-at-the-mouth liberalism were so high. The Austin Chronicle puts you to shame in these departments. I'll give credit where credit is due, though. Thank you for a rather thorough concert calendar. And thank you for being free and plentiful, as well, because you'll come in handy the next time I have to move and need to wrap my dishes again.

This studio is nestled into the 3rd floor of a very clean and polished building with a parking structure attached. While convenient, you do not necessarily need to use the structure as there is ample FREE street parking. These parking features are only an added bonus to the immaculate and very high tech studio. Upon entering the establishment, you are greeted by a professional and well-manicured waiting room from which you can traverse into a conference room, where clients/talent can discuss the segments they will be shooting, or the room could be set up as wardrobe/hair/makeup, or into the stunningly large studio (where the magic happens, although I guess if the conference room is transformed into a hair/make up salon, that could be considered MAGIC too) that boasts both a large green screen space and a "talk show" set. The control room is located in the corner of the "talk show" set and green screen portion of the studio, where the mastermind Adam magically transforms the talent from standing in a studio in Beverly Hills to standing in Las Vegas, Hong Kong, a deserted island or even standing next to Kelly Ripa on the set of "Live with Kelly and Michael". I have used Beverly Hills Studios on several occasions to film new footage for my hosting reel (and trick people into thinking I am the 3rd host on Live with Kelly and Michael) and let me just say, the footage I have received is extremely impressive... All of my peers are convinced that I host at least three shows they were unaware of... Even though I really just simply wrote specific segments and shot them accordingly. Whenever I walk into Beverly Hills Studios I get exceedingly excited because when I leave I confident I created some "fancy" (professional) footage that I can be proud of!
