When they came back out (because it was still noisy) they said I need new rollers and cables. We declined to have the work done immediately to get other estimates and they tried charging a $45 service fee (for a warranty check). They then threatened to place a lien if we did not pay the $45. Actually insane thing to threaten, over $45 when we have paid them nearly $2,000 for work over the past year. In summary, their prices are high, their warranty is sad (most reputable garage door companies will give 1 year minimum) and their business practices are unethical and unprofessional.

All the do- it- yourself usual fixes failed. I called Robert Garage Door. The woman who answered the call explained the process, indicated there was no cost for an evaluation and gave me window time frames that a technician would be available. I asked for an evaluation. Within that given time frame, a technician, Nick, called to advise me that he would be arriving in 15 minutes. Nick was personable and professional. He explained the issue that was occurring with my garage door, recommended a solution, and advised me of the cost of the solution. In response to my question, he gave me an estimate of the time required to complete the repairs. In spite of the fact that Nick was working in a hot garage on a day when the heat index was over 100 degrees, he stayed focused and completed the job with his time estimate and for the fee quoted. I respect that man's tenacity and work ethic. Nick was also good at answering my questions about maintaining my garage door. There is nothing good about having a garage door that malfunctions. But once my garage door was broken, dealing with the personnel at Robert's Garage Doors made getting back to normal life as easy as possible. I'll know in a little while if the repair components he used are any good. I suspect that they are, I will also say That he showed up sooner than I had otherwise planned. My springs broke, and until my neighbor came to help me pull up the door, I was locked in my house and my schedule looked doomed, but I was able to get out and get on with my day and the tradesmen showed up as indicated fairly soon after my call. That's all the good stuff. My single biggest complaint is the egregious predatory pricing. they completely took advantage of my circumstances unapologetically. That single aspect, since I am also in the retail services business very much disturbed me. There is a strong aroma of private equity roll up here which rarely puts the Customer first if ever. so proceed with caution and if time allows shop around. I did not have the time And I went into this with my eyes open. but if I have the time in the future with a problem with my garage door, I'm not so sure I'd call these guys. If you don't care about the pricing they are probably OK. At the moment I will characterize this as apparently premium service accompanied with premium egregious pricing. So all in I'm going to give it one star solely because of the egregious pricing model. I'm looking forward to the owner's response if they will even bother.
