Work started late August 2025 and was promised completed by end of OCT 2025. I could write several pages of all the things that went wrong but will summarize. They did not complete work till FEB 2026. Delays were due to B&S delivering wrong items, damaged items, no items, contractor indifference, no one in charge at the end, lack of responses,... just horrible all around. read more

Don't bother shopping here! The sales people are nice up front but as soon as they have your money (and their commission) they don't care. My biggest issues are: 1) The scheduling department is a mess - they don't call and are rude if you try and call them 2) The appliance is in-stock but somehow it still takes 2 weeks to get it installed (contrary to what their ads claim) 3) I am owed a large refund because their measuring company messed up and I am still waiting after 6 weeks of trying to get my money back. And this is after they screwed around for another 6 weeks. I paid for a built-in fridge in May 2024, in June I paid for additional installation costs, in June I had to switch to a free-standing (because of their error), July the new one was installed. We got Jenn Air downdraft gas range replaced. Very cold air is coming through vent in the house, perhaps technician uses a gas vent without damper/ flipper to block inward air. After more than three months and almost 50 text messages and calls, it remains as-is. They say we will call you back with updates but never call back. The only star I'm providing is for our sales person and Jerome who helped us with dispatch. Our delivery was a nightmare and despite paying in full for our order--it has still not arrived. Simply put, due to COVID and our high-risk family members (one of which is an infant) and noticing that one of the delivery people was wearing a thin cloth mask, we had requested the delivery team wear an additional surgical mask (that we provided). It sucks we live in times where we have to be cautious but we do. While one member (the younger man) was willing to comply. His partner flat out refused being as "he thinks it'll limit his oxygen" I reassured these people that I am a healthcare professional 1. Surgical Masks don't limit oxygen levels and 2. I had a pulse oximeter on hand if the partner wanted to check his saturation levels. I am not one to judge being as there is all types of misinformation but we were shocked. It is the obligation of the company to educate their workers and provide adequate PPE and customer service during these hard times. To continue, The partner said he still refused to wear a mask and "I'll turn around" in Spanish. The young man said, "hold up hold up, I don't want to be asshole. I need to speak to my boss" and then the two of them packed up and attempted to leave without even telling us (I guess these delivery drivers don't have a contract obligation to fulfill?) My husband had to dash out the door to confirm they were leaving. When we called the company to follow up and explain our rationale, Jerome reassured us that the delivery drivers shouldn't have done that, and that he would make sure that the fridge would be delivered today. We are outside of our delivery window, my husband needs to go back to work as we already rearranged our day for the 3-4 hour delivery window, and we're not even sure where to go from here. Hopefully someone in customer service aside from Jerome can help turn this situation around. Avoid this company like...well, you get the idea. Update: we got our fridge about 5 hours later. Delivery drivers wore masks inside but removed them while assembling fridge outside. read more

Darin at the Germantown location was great to work with. He listened to our needs and our requests. He was patient with questions and assIsted in helping us in making a educated decision. Delivery went smoothly and Levar was careful as he dropped it off at our house. We choose the new Cove Dishwasher which we loved from the first wash. The layout includes a top shelf which is a great addition. This is where I place my silverware. Dishes and glasses never shined the way they do now. Feels like we get a new set of sparkIing dishes and glasses every time I run a cycle. read more

I recently purchased a washer and drier from Bray & Scarff. In the delivery process there was a slight oversight. I chose GE b/c it allowed the door position reversal. The drier door needed to be reversed. When the installers left our home the door was not reversed. I did not notice. I called the store the next day. Dan, the sales rep, sent a technician to change the door within a couple of days at no extra charge for the extra trip. I am pleased and impressed. Many companies would not have done so. Since the products are new, I cannot comment on their quality or durability, but the pre-sale and post-sale service was excellent. read more

The minute my wife and I walked into Bray And Scarff we had s good feeling about the product, we ended up buying two appliances and they both got delivered with professional care. The installers on both occasions were excellent. The refrigerator was installed first and their was an issue but Bray and Scarff took care of things right away without question. Everyone was wearing a mask at the store- which was great. We got all appliances ordered- that was great. Then we were told that the microwave might not fit after everything was measured- not once but about 4 times. I am not sure why it took so many times. After they told me this they said we might have to move the cabinets- I said definitely not. Luckily the microwave did fit. All appliances look great installed. We had the countertops done also. Measured about 4 times for this also. Not sure why. I am not happy with the seam on the quartz countertop. I think,it could have been a little better. One one part of the seam it is higher than the other. You can definitely see it. Part of the seam is great- can't even tell there is a seam. Called to ask about it and was told this was the best they could do. So I am very disappointed in this response. I don't think I would recommend Bray and Scarff to anyone. I thought the process would have been smoother with the company doing all appliances and countertops. But I thought it was very disorganized when they sent out 4 different people to measure. I would have thought the guy with the laser measure would have had everything all done right but they sent someone out after him. I think it would have gone better going through a contractor at this point. But it's done and it will have to stay this way. read more

We finally got a new washing machine yesterday since being without one since February 5. Despite having a warranty from B&S on our defective washer, the new machine cost us $350.00. B&S did give us a credit for our old machine. The final 3 years of our B&S 5-year warranty on the old machine are gone. And no, we did not get a B&S warranty on the new one. I'm surprised that the B&S repairman did not look at the pump motor even though that is what the error code might have indicated. B&S does not keep parts in-house, so each attempted repair requires a return visit to install a part. And if that doesn't fix the issue, the weeks-long process starts again to see if a different part will fix the problem. read more

I had purchased a Microwave and dishwasher and had a good experience. I also purchased the extended warranty on the dishwasher. (I was glad I did) 2 years in, the dishwasher dies in early November. I called for service and was told in would be 1 month before anyone could be scheduled to come out and look at it. One month later the technician comes out and writes the model number/serial number down and says it will be another month for the parts to arrive. the second month ticks down and I get a call that it will be at least two more weeks as the parts on on back-order. Finally the day arives to install the parts and it snows.....no fault of the tech, I know....but just adds to the frustration. The technician finally comes out the next week, pulls the dishwasher out, removes the door and adds tow circuit boards that were needed. He puts the door back on slides it back into place and leaves. We go to open the dishwasher door, and he did not mount the appliance correctly as the weight of the door causes the whole unit to fall forward. Two mounting scres and two plugs are all is needed. I found one mounting screw and one plug. I am very dissapointed in the level of service and will not be purchasing the stove or refrigerator that I had planned to upgrade from this store. read more

Had a fantastic experience purchasing a dishwasher from Bray & Scarff. My salesman was Dan Evans, who gave me an informative (no-bull) walk-through of the models we were interested in. I later researched things extensively on Consumer Reports and various websites as I always do, but ultimately found that I could have skipped that part altogether as both the info and pricing were great. What was even better was that, when a small hiccup occurred in the setting of us changing our minds about whether we wanted a handle or pocket on the exterior, Dan was all over it and handled it like we would hope all businesses would. The way they handled this small purchase will ensure that we'll be back for larger purchases in the future. Glad they're in the neighborhood. read more

Recommended another, would not install the day of delivery stating too large after measuring again. Stove sold doesn't cook needs 45 mins to preheat. Never told this by John the sales manager. This review is for my GE oven. The reason I bought from Bray and Scraff was they said it was in stock. I paid for the unit and waited. I called a couple days past when I was told I would be contacted and was told it wasn't ordered but it would be ordered immediately and would be there in a week. I emailed several times with no results and called again to find out that the units are out of stock and it would be some indeterminate time to get it. I was not happy with this not because I wasn't getting the unit but because I was not getting a straight story from the store about the situation. The unit finally came a month after promised. I got a quick call from the store saying when it was coming. Again I must say the installers were great. They had the proper tools, PPE, protected my home from damage, were friendly and did a professional job installing the range. All the paperwork was in order and the whole thing took less then an hour. They explained what I had to do and to leave the oven on for an hour to burn the manufacturing left over oils and such out. The unit is great and I am very happy with it. I just wish the people in the store had been upfront and communicated the situation about appliances. Appliances are never fun to buy, it's sort of like getting tires. You must do it but at the same time it's more of a duty in life, that is something you'd rather not do. Anyway that lead us to Bray & Scarff in Germantown, after the dishwasher fire. Yes dishwashers actually do, catch on fire! Darin our sales rep. was outstanding. He was informative, and very patient to answer all our questions. The problem with "big box" retailers is they don't have the knowledge or experience to answer questions. Not so at Bray & Scarff as that's all they do. Installation went great and our installer, Richard was awesome as well. That's another thing you worry about is having someone not able to install a brand new appliance you've purchased because a lot of retailers, farm that out. Again, Bray & Scarff has their own team for that. All in all this experience was amazing for something that no one in life looks forward to! read more

Unfortunately, we needed to replace our SubZero fridge. Bray & Scarff had its grand opening in Germantown and we decided to give it a try instead of using our previous go-to company, ABW. Greeted by Jon Armstrong, we immediately felt comfortable with his friendly approach, knowledge, and patience - not pushy, too. After careful consideration and after visiting our old 'go-to' company, hands-down, B&S was the way to go and we've been extremely happy with the entire process. A site visit was required to assure us all would go smoothly and that was thorough, informative, and easy to schedule. Delivery scheduling was painless and according to our chosen date and time, always coordinated with a phone call and a window-time that we agreed upon. Installation was a breeze. The team of 3 men - Cliff, Enon, Andre - was a smooth running machine. Each one knew their part and worked with such coordination. A pleasure to watch! They took extra care of being mindful of floors, doorways, etc... courteous, thorough, efficient! The install, I know, was managed far better than before - assuring leveling and anchoring of the appliance. A tutorial of the new features was given by Cliff after the install. How nice - and informative! So, not to reiterate but, it's such a pleasure to deal with a company that is customer oriented - that is so uncommon today - I just had to comment. We purchased new appliances and an extended warranty with the promise of local, fast, competent service. Our appliances were delivered on Dec 6th, we realized the refrigerator was not cooling properly on Dec 20th. Today is Jan 18th and we still do not have a functioning refrigerator. We have spent the holidays living out of coolers. Right now, our fridge has been out of order longer than it was functioning with Bray and Scarff not seeming to understand how unreasonable this is. So frustrated that we bought into their sales pitch. read more

Great service. Needed to replace my washing machine for several years and finally decided to do it. Visited the new Germantown store and met Darin Busey, an appliance specialist. He walked me through the pros and cons of the two machines I had narrowed my search to and added a couple of others, demonstrating features of each. Taking his time to explain features and answer questions. Darin is personable and professional. No pressure to buy right then which I didn't. He explained the Maryland tax free offer, the President's Day sale that was coming up and others that would be in the future (most major holidays). The prices were comparable to all other places I had checked. I returned in a week and made my purchase. Date was set for delivery. A packet of information was given to me. Delivery of the machine went smoothly. The installer was professional and explained a few things about the new machine after removing the old one and installing the new one. Most pleased with the purchase process, delivery and installation. I like supporting a local business. read more

I wanted to take the time to single out Darin at the recently opened B&S store in Germantown near the Wegmans. We met while we were still shopping and considering brands, styles, features, warranty services, etc. offered by the various big box retailers and local independent dealers for an upcoming kitchen renovation. Despite our making it clear that we were just gathering information and would not be making a purchase that day Darin continued to help us when he might have left us to browse on our own while he picked up another prospect. I would not have faulted him for doing so. He was quite knowledgeable about the features of models on his floor as well as special order items. He made us aware that B&S offered a full range of renovation services, however when we explained we had lined up a cabinet maker and a contractor he politely let it be. When we left that day and promised to return I suspect he was doubtful. It took another month before we were ready [and the next sale rolled around] but I was happy to return and give him our business. In the end the prices were comparable, as one would expect, to what we were seeing elsewhere, but the service Darin provided made the difference. It followed right through the order process and his monitoring of the delivery. I suspect that if we have any issues going forward he will be a good resource and ally. One more thing, along the way I talked with a friend who was in the same boat--shopping appliances for a kitchen renovation. I told him, I have a guy for you over at B&S. He asked me, "Is his name Darin? We thought he was great." read more

Our experience illustrates why we really like Bray and Scarff. I wanted a Bosch dishwasher to replace our ancient one, and chose one that was going to take 8 to 10 weeks to get, due to covid. But I haaaaaaaaad to have it, so it was cool. About 10 weeks into the game and a week after our old one finally died we got the call to schedule installation. Yaaaaay! A couple of days later, a really nice installation guy showed up with our zoomy new dishwasher, disconnected and removed the old dead carcass, then came to me with a long face. Our new dishwaasher wasn't going to fit. It turns out that the folks who originally plumbed our house used part of the the space under the counter reserved for dishwashers to install a penalty loop of plumbing that prevented installation of the dishwasher we had pined for during the wretched and slow death of its predecessor. What a buzzkill. No one knew that piece of plumbing was lurking under our counter, so it was no ones fault....but what to do? Fortunately this wasn't the first rodeo for these guys, who had seen this before and who had very good options for dishwashers designed to accommodate plumbing stupidity. Our installer was well versed in the product lines carried by Bray and Scarff because he installs them. The problem, and the logical product solutions were communicated by the installer to our salesman, John, on a Friday night. By mid-day Saturday John had suggestions for us, and we had a dishwasher on order, with expected installation late in the next week. John assured us we'd be happy with it. And he was right. Anthony and JD installed our dishwasher on the following Saturday afternoon. Everything went like clockwork. We are thrilled with the features and performance of our Plan B GE Profile, and grateful that we dealt with service-oriented folks who know their products and know how to go to bat for their customers. I have taken the time to leave this review entirely because of the wonderful experience we had with the installation team of Sergio, Oscar and Josue. We had an unexpected issue come up when our stove was being replaced because there was a downdraft hook up we weren't expecting behind the existing stove. Initially, it appeared from a call to the store that we would need to set up an entirely new day for a service man to come out. This was very inconvenient and would have been expensive. Instead, Sergio, the lead individual on the installation team, took it upon himself to call the store and indicate he could take care of it on the same day as delivery. This was obviously the best option for us and we would not known it was an option without Sergio. The team ended up being here extra long, left the kitchen perfectly clean and explained everything to myself and my husband. We are leaving this review because of our exceptional experience with the installation team. read more
