This store, as is Best Buy's customer service, is absolutely horrific. On two occasions I've gone into the store to purchase a television to find no one to help me. I went to the service desk up front and they made a call to someone who was to meet me back in the area....no one ever arrived. Just prior to these experiences, I purchased a washer and dryer which required the purchase of an additional installation package. After a few months (more than 90 days) the dryer hose fell off of the back of the dryer and, after being bounced around to several parties, I was told that I'd need to pay an additional installation fee to have it reinstalled as it's been more than 90 days. I have no trouble with rules, but the problem is that I was sold a service plan, and a protection plan AND I have a warranty. None of which covers the fact the installer didn't install it properly to begin with as the dryer has been used maybe 5x's since the purchase in March. Over the course of several weeks, I called Best Buy, they told me it was a warranty issue, I called Whirlpool they said no, it's an installation issue. I called Best Buy again, they said they couldn't help. An on and on, back and forth!!! Today, I finally got to someone at Best Buy who said it was definitely an installation issue BUT in order to send someone out, I'd have to pay $25. I believe that I was within the 90 days BEFORE I started making these phone calls. I asked that an exception be made as this had been such a tedious process trying to get help AND that I've barely used the dryer and it was likely an installation error to begin with. The customer service person told me the only way they'd help is to pay the fee, said very flippantly. I'm done! I've given this company a chance and too much of my money. I loved the idea of having someone local to supply all of my tech needs, as I just purchased a new home in the area but..... BEST BUY WILL NOT GET ANY ADDITIONAL MONEY FROM ME! Please be informed, that Mr Gursimar is a salesmen extraordinaire! When I entered BestBuy, he happily greeted me at the front desk. He saw my government badge, and called me by my last name "Mr Miller." Mr Gursimar, welcomed me to the back of the store, where refrigerators are kept and sold. There he asked what I was looking for: Make / Brand / Model / Cost. I informed him of my current fridge's measurements; and showed him a photo of its dimensions. He then validated the one I wished to purchase. Mr Gursimar went over the the mathematics twice, to verify that it would fit properly in my home. Mr Gursimar asked my address and what kind of house I lived in. We then set a date for delivery, and the disposal of my old refrigerators. Afterwards, he went over everything I needed to know and then walked me through the buying process. Mr Gursimar made it fun and easy to purchase our new fridge! He explained the receipt to me and made sure I understood it. Mr Gursimar highlighted with a pen, all of the important notes on the receipt: Day / date of delivery, "two haul a ways," and water hookup. Big store and decent location. A wide variety of electronics all around the store, labeled very well and simple to find certain items. Prices are reasonable and stock seems fine. Quality of the things on sale are alright as well. Not as crowded and stressful inside compared to other Best Buy stores, in my opinion, so that's a good thing. Parking is nice, very spacious outside in the shopping center, right next to Kohls. A pleasant experience until next time. Recommend this store location to others, too! read more

There was no emergency evacuation! I don't know your name, but if you continue this behavior with other customers, at least one will bring an assault charge against you. I made the mistake of buying an indoor antenna on the recommendation of a sales associate in this store. The quality was cheap and needless to say did not work well. I tried to return it on the 29th day not realizing they only have a 15 day return policy. Of course they would not let me return it so I wasted $38 dollars. I will NEVER buy from Best Buy again, that return policy is BS. I bought another antenna from Amazon for $26 dollars and it works great. I won't make this mistake again and will only buy electronics from Amazon at least their return policy is fair. After reading the reviews I'm shocked this store is still open! We all know what we find at a Best Buy so I'll only touch on the buying experience. Good inventory and the Amazon price match (items shipped and sold by Amazon). The huge drawback - being accosted, harassed, and hard sold by a crazy number of associates while walking through the store. Getting from the front door to the tablets required dodging 6 salespeople. They l didn't seem to have interest in helping as much as hitting some sort of goal. To pay for the tablets I was dished off to a "closer." She wasn't there to run my payment, her purpose was to be intrusive and pushy... "Do you want a 1 year warranty." No "You can get a 2 year warranty" No "Why not?" "Is this a gift?" "Why don't you want the warranty" She finally runs my credit card and it's the end... NO!! "What is your cell phone carrier?" There is no way I want to get grilled for add ons and up sales in such an uncaring way. I didn't feel like a customer, but like a mark for someone looking to pad their sales totals. Anyway, I was having migraines because my phone was out of internal memory and I couldn't transfer any apps onto my new . Micro SD. Unable to sync work emails? Crisis! So the first available Geek Squad appointment was at Germantown. Great experience. Again, the employee, Amayas, made all the difference! Great service at the counter and great advocate for me with the service tech (whom I also thank). Turns out that my phone would not allow the apps to be transferred. But they did not give up. They diagnosed that my Verizon Cloud backup was chewing up over half my available memory! Quick work around to delete the data and I had my syncing back. Thank you, Amayas! read more

The concept of fine print is beyond amazing. So, we purchased a dishwasher (never tending story) from Best Buy. 1. The customer service team is not empowered to make problems right. So they struggle, it is not their fault it is a poor system. 2. There is a trick in their warranties that isn't revealed until after you end up needing the warranty. They sell you a three year extended warranty. Now, if I buy a three year extended warranty on my car it is GOOD FOR THREE YEARS beyond the manufacturer's warranty. Best Buys apparently is only good until they have to replace the appliance. Instead of transferring the warranty with the replaced dishwasher, they end the original warranty and charge you for a new one. Seriously. I am not making this up. A 3 year warranty ends the minute they replace the appliance you have the warranty on. It isn't for three years. In our case it was for less than a year. Of which the dishwasher wasn't working for more than 7 weeks. So in effect we have paid for three years of warranty that ultimately lasted less than a year. I cannot express enough sadness for the situation. I used to look forward to going to Best Buy and seeing the new cool technology. I will not ever step into the store again. If car's pulled this crap with their warranty there would be a lawsuit. If they (best buy) has to replace the dishwasher they sold you because it is defective, that is not your fault. The warranty should continue to be in effect until the time expires. #horriblecustomerservice. read more

DO NOT ORDER STORE PICKUP FROM THIS LOCATION (and many other locations). I placed an order online for store pickup and the transaction went through just fine, however, 10 minutes later I received an e-mail stating my order was cancelled because the item was not available! If that's not bad enough, they still took the money out of my account and customer service says it can take 3-5 business days before it goes back into my account!! Basically my money is on hold and unavailable for an item I won't receive. Best Buy needs to do better with inventory counting. They shouldn't charge you for a pickup order before verifying if the item is available FIRST! By the way, this happened on numerous occasions, at different locations throughout Maryland. Over the past year, I had saved cash so that I could buy my wife a camera ($200 to $300 range) as a Christmas gift without running it through our checking account or credit cards. I chose one I liked from the Best Buy website, and saw if I ordered it that day, I could pick it up in store on December 21. I drove to the store, showed the clerk a photo of the model and sku number, and requested to buy the camera. He wanted to know my phone number and email address. I don't like giving those out - despite assurances there would be no marketing calls, I didn't see the necessity, but I gave them, but then the clerk wanted my physical address. I asked why they needed my address when I was going to pay cash and pick up in store. The clerk said the computer system wouldn't run the sale without it. Annoyed, I gave them my address, but then the clerk said the computer wasn't taking my address, and he couldn't ring the sale. I asked if there was one in store I could buy. He checked, said "not here, but two in Rockville" (apx 40 minute drive in traffic). I left without it. I shopped around: Target and Kohl's had nothing, I bought a similar camera - not exacltly what I wanted, but pretty close - for cash from Walmart with zero hassle. read more

Worse Best Buy I've ever been to. Bought a brand new 70inch tv, spent about $800+ on it. Got home excited to have a new tv with my new place and plugged it in and it was damaged. It was broke. From the inside. Got insurance on it, the 2 year plan on the tv. Took it back and they said they couldn't do anything, that the protection plan doesn't cover it.... how in the world does the protection plan not cover that? I opened the tv, took it out, and plugged it in. Broken.... and when I talked to the guy and asked " well than what's the protection plan for" and he stayed quiet and then I told him how his worker told me that the protection plan covered everything" he said "everything". They literally just took me to the cashier and said " welp nothing we can do so here's the protection plan money since you don't need it" and gave me my insurance money back. With out asking me or anything. Sooo they basically screwed me over, gave me a broken tv and can't do anything about it. Took my money and they called it a day.
