Tried to support what seemed like a small business at Brea Mall and it backfired. Six weeks to get my prescription glasses is unacceptable. I called at least five times asking when my glasses would be ready and was given different reasons for the delay. One reason was that lab did not have lenses and another was that lab lost frame. I spoke with Dr. Ninomiya and asked for compensation due to delay and aggravation for having to spend time calling. She failed to take responsibility for my inconvenience and expected the lab to compensate me. I advised her that the contract was between me and her business (Brea Optometrist) and I expected her to take responsibility for the snafu. Dr. NinoMiya refused to compensate me for my time and grievance and kept blaming Elite Labs in Rancho Dominguez. If lab is to blame, bottom line is that Brea Optometrist should have made things right with me. At the end, she claimed that lab offered free lenses on old frame. NO THANKS! I had enough. read more

friendly staff and great doctors. I had a lot of questions, most of them were probably really stupid ones, but the optometrist answered them all and didn't make me feel bad or rushed. The front desk folks are nice and communicate with patients through text as well as phone conversations. Sort of an unusual situation b/c of the pandemic but appreciate the safety measures being taken in terms of sanitizing, limiting the amount of people inside the office, etc. Can confidently recommend this place to any and all. They have good people and even though it is located in the mall, it is one of the best optometrist experiences I have ever had. I was there looking to purchase glasses. This one lady was helping me and this couple came in. She said "Oh" looked them left me not saying anything like let me know when you are ready or I will be right back nothing proceed to have a full on conversation with them. As I continue to look for glasses. I thought to myself she will be back. Nope I waited and waited. I felt like she thought I was not worth her service, I was going to pay for my glasses I was not asking them for free. So I put the glasses in the tray and left. Never again will I come back there. Learn to treat everyone with good customer service that was not ok or right. read more

Brea Mall is in Orange County where many people will shop for clothes, shoes and have a nice meal. But you can also see an optometrist too! Plenty of places actually that will be able to get your eye examined but I chose this one because I felt that this place looked pretty friendly and nice. Got a same day appointment to check my eyes and also get my contacts. It was super nice since I was about to fly out that night. The doctor was very friendly and she also seemed to take the exam quite serious to check for anything that might be wrong with your eyes. Which is good I liked that and she was super informative on everything. I had a few questions about a lot of things and she wasn't at all rushing me out the door which I totally appreciated. Also this place is very clean and honestly didn't seem like there was a spec of dust at all! read more

I've been coming here for over ten years. The service is very good. At first glance I thought that Costco was a better deal, but realized that the procedures are priced individually at Costco. I needed a new case for my glasses and went inside. There were two women working, one who was on her cell phone trying to avoid eye contact with me, and another woman who was helpful. The woman who helped me asked if I needed a receipt. I didn't and it was a cash transaction. It was $5 and there was no sales tax. I'm thinking I should have haggled with her. Their web site says that they're a member of the TLC Laser Eye Center. I think I'd want to receipt for that. read more

My optometrist! They take my insurance and have always been super helpful. Kind front desk staff. The doctor is great. Been here for both appointments for contact fitting and eye issues. Very patient with helping me get over my fear of inserting contacts for the first time. If I were to get glasses again, I'd wish they had a better selection of brands. But other than that I'm glad they're my place. read more

Great customer service. I walked in about half an hour before they closed and they showed me all of the glasses that I wanted to see, answered all my questions, and even got my prescription from my other optometrist. They are fast, friendly, and efficient. I ordered my glasses on Monday and I already received a call stating my glasses are ready today (Thursday). I would most definitely recommend! read more

Definitely not coming back to this place. I purchased glasses from them about a year ago, I brought in my prescription. All seemed to go well. This year I told myself to do the eye exam with them. When I finished my exam, I was so disappointed in how I was treated and the limitations they have when ordering frames. Fine, I'll just go somewhere else. When I asked for my prescription, I was told they didn't do digital prescriptions. But they can scan it and email. Stuck in the Stone Age I guess. Well I can take a pic and accomplish the same thing. And now it turns out I need another appointment for my contacts prescription. I need both prescriptions and sure enough they only could give me the prescription for the glasses. Another appointment for contacts to get another copay. They definitely need to get their act together. I don't have any faith in their prescriptions or business. On top of it all, my wife purchased glasses. Is this really how they treat customers? I can see if I didn't spend money there. Anyway, just another example of buyer beware. read more

I have been going here for at least 6 years and I have always reviewed good service. It is an in-network provider with our VSP insurance and 5 years ago I decided to do LASIK and the doctors (there are a few) were great with helping me select a facility (I went to the one in Fullerton). They took very good care of me as I went through the process. My husband and brother also go here. Hours are flexible, conveniently located by my house and a nice perk they are in the mall. Reminder that a Costco maybe cheaper for the frames if you don't have insurance or good insurance- however we pay $0 for exam and have a deep discount after or frame Benefit is used- but our insurance is good. Transferred here from Lenscrafters since I got vision insurance through my job. I just had my exam on July 5th and the doctor and staff are all SO nice. Even with Covid happening, they make you feel safe and comfortable. I got a glasses exam and a contact lens fitting on the same day, both of which were extremely thorough. The doctor asked me pertinent questions to gauge my needs with respect to lenses, coatings, my past experiences with contacts, etc. I have poor vision, so I always have to get high index lenses, which are pricey. I walked out having picked beautiful frames and the thinnest lenses, and felt like it was a steal (yay to insurance, too). I picked up my new specks today (!!), just 10 days after my exam. That's the quickest turnaround I've ever experienced, and I've worn glasses since the 3rd grade. They look and feel great. I am so pleased that this is my new optometrist. (Covid side note: Even though the mall is closed rn, you can still book appointments and pick up your new specks like I did today. So no worries there). read more

I had an exam here a few months ago and everything went well... the Dr. was very nice and knowledgeable and answered all my questions. They took my insurance and seemed to know a lot about it, so I purchased my contacts from them and even got a rebate! $50 back never hurts! I liked the brand name frames they had and will probably be back for sunglasses soon since they said my insurance would qualify me for an additional discount. read more

By far and away the BEST optometrist I have ever been to. Everything was so easy; I felt like I was at the Nordstrom of eye-exams/eye-wear. This was my first visit and from the minute I walked in they were ready for me, having already looked up my insurance and having all the forms printed and ready for me to fill out. Once I filled out the forms she immediately took me back for the pre-eye tests and within 5 minutes of that I was meeting with the doctor. I was in and out having all my tests done, a new perscription and frames ordered, within an hour. Everyone was friendly and helpful and so easy to work with. I will DEFINITELY be back! read more
