We walked in to find a woman sitting at her desk chatting with a client. We took a seat on the sofa and politely waited for a handful of minutes before we walked out. No greeting, no smile, no "I'll be with you in just a moment," no nothing. The two just laughed and talked continuing their conversation as if we were two lazy cats that just happened to stroll in and take a nap. Perhaps they talk with clients by appointment only, that's cool but at least take 10 seconds to say hi and tell us that. No thanks, we'll take our business elsewhere. read more

I have used Brea Travel agency for several trips now to Europe and all have gone without a hitch. Khim has great attention to detail, follows through and sends reminders and due dates prior to the trip. I have since referred other people to her for a complex trip to Australia . We like going through Khim for international trips as they can get complicated with arrangements and such. She has also found deals for last minute domestic flights for a coworker. Something has changed and I'm not sure exactly why. Brea Village Travel used to be my go to spot. Khim was excellent. I found this place at the end of 2011 and booked a trip to Jamaica in 2012. I got a group of 9 to go with me, Khim picked the resort. The experience was amazing and everyone had a good time. I referred another friend to Khim and she took a group of about 8 with her the following month. They also had an amazing time. Since then I've booked several trips and have referred several friends, who have booked with her as well. Recently, I was trying to book a trip to Cabo. I called up Khim and without even looking into the dates she replied that it would be too expensive and rushed me off the phone with kind of a harsh tone. I wanted to do a Fri-Mon for about $500-600 per person. So I called immediately back like 2 seconds later to see if she could look at something else. No answer so I left a message. No return phone call. So I called up another travel agent that my parents use and guess what. I have a group of 10 going for the dates I wanted at an all inclusive resort at $600 per person. One of my referrals unfortunately is going through some issues now with her. I guess Brea Village has a new policy that you must pay a deposit before they do any searching for you. She's paid the deposit but Khim hasn't been responsive. The only reason there are 2 stars is because of my great Jamaica trip. Otherwise it would be a 1 for this horrible customer service me and my friends have recently been receiving. read more

One Saturday morning, after weeks of searching online to try to plan a European vacation I said to my husband "I sure miss travel agencies". So I sat there with my iPad and gave it a quick Google. At the time I was overwhelmed with information I had found on the internet. We had never been to Europe before so the prices I found left me wondering if they were competitive prices. Where should we stay? How many countries should we visit? 1? 5? How long should we go for? What would we do once we got there? How would we get there? You all know the drill, and then on my screen I saw Brea Village Travel. Hummm... so they still do exist....It was 9AM in the morning and Google said they opened at 9AM so I suggested we just head on over there. So we walk in from the short ride from Placentia where we live. There is sitting Louise. We don't have an appointment, but we walk in like we own the place and ask if she has a few minutes. "Of course" she says. So my husband and I start talking at the same time, telling her we want to go to Europe, and we're not sure what to do. He's telling her what he wants. I'm telling her what I want. We're both asking questions talking over each other as only a husband and wife can do, and Louise smiles and just engages us in conversation. It's easy. We're relaxing. I can tell Louise gets it, and that we are not the first to come walking in wanting everything, and knowing nothing. Her partner Kim is there listening to us. She throws out a few suggestions. Louise has suggestions, and then my husband says "Oh... and we want to stay in a castle for some of the stay. We don't care where, but we want it to be authentic. It would be really cool if it had a dungeon." REALLY? At the time I thought Louise and Kim were just going along with our small talk, but looking back they were getting an idea of who we were. Brilliant. My guess is we were there 45 minutes at most. We left and got on with our day. Over the next 2-3 days there were a few email exchanges between all of us. What we were flexible on, what we weren't. I wanted to see Princess Diana's home at Althorp in England. Was that possible? We both wanted to go to Normandy in France, and of course there was that whole castle thing. We wanted to fly business class, stay at the best hotels, have drivers pick us up, have private tours wherever we went, and we didn't want it to be too expensive. HA! Soon Kim emailed us a suggested itinerary. The cost floored us. I had figured it would have cost twice what it did. Well.. all I can say is we had the BEST VACATION EVER! All of our dreams were fulfilled and it went beyond our wildest expectation! We went to London, Scotland and Paris. We went for 10 days. We went business class on our flights, and first class on any rail we took. We saw Althorp, we went to Normandy, we saw a play on the London stage, we went up the Eiffel Tower, saw the Mona Lisa, we even were at a London pub when Liverpool scored a goal in that soccer game a week or so ago. Talk about excitement! We stayed at the best places, we made new friends, had the best wines, had private tours, had transportation to and from the airport and trains, and YES... we stayed at the Dalhousie castle in Scotland complete with a dungeon! It was a trip of a lifetime! I will NEVER EVER plan another vacation again complete with headaches searching the internet. I will leave it in the hands of the pros, and Louise and Kim are just that. If I could give them zero I would! I had booked a trip to Cuba in April and was happy so when it came time to book our trip to Australia/New Zealand I went back. I trusted Khim but started having doubts when the travel docs came and noticed she had charged us for two travel insurances. After several attempts to get an answer she indicated that the second one was for airfare but I became suspicious because the benefits and limits page (one page) said nothing about airfare it was the exact same coverage as the first travel insurance just for less coverage. I asked for the insurance coverage booklet and she never sent it and it was time to go on our trip, so I thought I would deal with it when I got back. When we got back it took 2 months for Khim to send the insurance coverage booklet and low and behold it DOES NOT cover airfare like she claimed so she charged us for 2 of the same insurances! Very sneaky and dishonest. Also, she failed to disclose before purchase that travel insurance is secondary, meaning if something happens it doesn't cover you as we found out the hard way - we had to file with our home owners insurance for luggage that burned on a bus. So basically Khim sold us one travel insurance policy and snuck in a charge for a second one both worthlessness! Go elsewhere for your travel needs - very dishonest at Brea Trave. read more
