Wow. I loved the stay and would stay here again if I am in the area. Price was very reasonable. Parking lot is nice, clean, and only $13 to park per day, right in front of the front door. Giant suites over 500 square feet. Full kitchen, full sized fridge, stove, utensils, etc. Check in was a breeze, happy friendly staff. Nice fireplace right near the check in area. Elevators were pretty fast even though there are 5 floors, we never had to wait more than a minute or 2. Complimentary breakfast buffet, pretty standard but free and included. Eggs, Waffles, yogurt, etc. The room was large, clean, and new. The decor was modern, and looks nice. The sitting area was spacious and a large TV with easy to connect to your HDMI cord and computer to be able to watch what you want. Then you had the bedroom area, separated and with a door, it had a decent size TV as well. The bed was pretty comfortable too. The room was decent size and fairly quiet, even though we were next to a busy street. Then you had the separate large bathroom, with a nice large shower. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided in dispensers inside the shower. We did not check out the pool or cabanas, but they looked nice from inside. Still love this hotel! It's been a year since I've visited and the service, facilities, parking and rooms are top notch. Still feels brand new! The staff are all lovely and this time I even checked out happy hour at the bar. Shoutout to Ethan my bartender and the chef who took great care of me (loved the wings with spicy peach sauce!). It's quiet and has comfortable beds. And also the breakfast is plentiful and freshly prepared. A great place for families about a 15-20 minute drive to Disney or for a local staycation. Everything in the previous review still stands. We've been back twice in the past 15 months for 3-4 nights apiece and the Residence Inn of Brea remains a very good choice for travelers in the area. I did notice 2 small changes: 1. The buffet breakfast is a little better.....especially the pastry area 2. Overnight parking is now $13.....up from $10 in late 2023 Everyone who works in the hotel is very friendly and helpful - particularly the women at the Reception Desk. Went on a short trip to Southern California and stayed at the Residence Inn because it was close to our destination. The hotel was very nice, with a welcoming lobby and an easy, smooth check-in process. Our room was clean, spacious, and well laid out. It had two queen-size beds and a sofa bed, plus a separate kitchen and dining area with a TV and a separate bedroom. The extra space made it very comfortable and never felt cramped. The beds and pillows were decent and allowed for a good night's rest. Breakfast was included each morning, and the options were plentiful and tasty. The breakfast area was clean and well organized. We also took advantage of the pool for a quick swim and really enjoyed the patio area, which featured fire pits and a nice seating setup. Overall, it was a great stay. I would definitely consider staying here again the next time I'm in the area or visiting Disneyland. read more

Beautiful and spacious rooms! I like how the sofa bed was in it's own separate room. The kitchennette was cute and spacious. It was a perfect size for a family of 4. I am very conflicted in writing this review because Arturo and David were the only two people worth positively mentioning. Arturo showed professionalism at all times. David, in the very short time my husband and I saw him, was very polite and always smiling. My husband and I stayed at this Hotel for 10 days and although the Hotel's appeal seems very attractive at first with the kitchen (with most things needed to prepare food), large rooms, comfortable bed, awesome bathroom and spacious living room, there is much that this Hotel lacks. When you first get to the Hotel and check in, they give you a piece of paper that informs you when they will come and "refresh" your room and when they will do a full clean of your room. However, this is NOT the case. I had to call and ask for a refresh multiple times. On Day 8, I had to call and beg three times for them to come and clean the room. No one ever showed up. I spoke with Arturo that evening and he made sure our room was cleaned the next day. So, our room was cleaned on Day 9. We were checking out on Day 10. Now, the day that they were supposed to clean our room, I spoke with a young woman (whose name I did not get) and told her that no one had showed up to clean the room. She told me, "Ma'am. It's 4:16 and they have until 6:00 p.m. to clean your room." I told her, "Great. But I am leaving and my husband is still in the room. Please give him a courtesy call when they are about to show up." She told me that she would. No one ever showed up. On the day that we were going to be checking out, we had to be at the airport at 5:00 p.m. so I called to make sure that we could get the latest check out since my husband is a Marriott Gold Member. The woman at the desk named "Janet" told me that the latest that they could allow us to check out was 12:00 p.m.. This did not make sense because my husband also has the Platinum card on file that makes him an automatic Marriott Gold Member. We are supposed to get an automatic 2:00 p.m. check out but Janet told me that we were going to have to pay $50 an hour. I told her that this information did not make sense and was incorrect. Janet told me that there was nothing she could do so I told her okay and politely hung up the phone. I called the front desk again and informed them that my husband is a Marriott Gold Member but this girl, Janet, was giving my husband and I major attitude. There was rudeness and sharpness in her tone letting us know that she didn't care and that because her computer was not showing my husband's Marriott status, it was pointless. Now, the worst part of this all, I asked to speak to the manager and Janet told me that the manager was not there and that she was the manager at the moment. So, I politely hung up the phone and called Marriott. They went ahead and sent over the email stating that my husband is a Marriott Gold Member. I called the front desk one more time and this time, Janet did not state her name. The person (Janet) who answered the phone sharply and bitterly said, "Front desk." I asked if the person I was speaking to was Janet and she said "No" but never told me her name. I told her that I just gotten off of the phone with Marriott and they informed my husband and I that he is a Marriott Gold Member and that we should have 2:00 p.m. check out. The girl (Janet) started to give me really horrible attitude. I interrupted her and said that she was being extremely unprofessional in a business where professionalism is key and that I did not appreciate her tone. SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!!! Are you serious? So, in a Hotel where it is $1900 to stay for 10 days, we can't get our room refreshed or cleaned unless we beg, we get major attitude from most of the females at the front desk and we get hung up on? Marriott has dropped the ball at this location. Then, at this point, my husband is LIVID. We go down to the front desk to check out and speak to Janet. I told her that I did not appreciate being hung up on. She told us that it was someone named "Angie" and then Janet has the AUDACITY to tell me that "Angie" told her that the phone got disconnected. My husband wasn't having this so he stepped in and sternly told Janet that this was extremely ridiculous. We both told Janet that we know the phone was not disconnected. We were blatantly hung up on. She then asks, "What is the issue here?" My husband and I, both, tell her that we don't appreciate being charged for time that we are supposed to get for being a Marriott Gold Member. As we are showing her the email that proves that my husband is a Marriott Gold Member, she tells us that she didn't charge us for the extra time and that she refunded my husband for parking. Did she think this was going to fix everything? Let's just answer the one question first... who is this mysterious "Angie"? And why did she sound exactly like Janet? We made a reservation via telephone with Marriott for the Residence Inn in Brea, CA for May 14 through May 17. Never was told the reservation was a "guaranteed rate that was non-refundable." I was told I would receive an e-mail with confirmation information. Never received the e-mail! On May 5, I called the hotel to get confirmation and was told I would receive an e-mail with all the information. I never received the e-mail. On May 8 we went to the hotel to cancel our reservation for May 14-17. The manager told us the reservation was non refundable and we could choose to stay or forfeit the whole amount of over $900.00. After much debate, the manager said they would keep one nights stay ($260) and refund the balance to us. We were giving 7 days advanced notice and this didn't make sense. We are challenging this policy and the amount withheld. After being Marriott members for over 20 years, this incident has soured us on the Marriott product especially the Brea California Residence Inn location. We recommend travelers looking for other hotels in the Brea area. read more

Stayed here the other night on points and it was a decent experience. Residence Inn Anaheim Brea is a brand new extended stay property. Booked direct and was able to check-in online. There were some bumps in the digital transformation process as my mobile key would only work after I stopped by the front desk presenting my ID and credit card. As a Hilton Honors member, I'm able to choose the room of my choice and get my mobile key without swinging by the front desk... Amenities at the property were loaded, including a pool area, gym, coin laundry room, BBQ area, complimentary daily breakfast, lobby seating area, and mini business center. The property seems to be constructed out of wood and is 5 storeys high. Noise can be heard from the neighbors running upstairs... It should be noted that exit stairwells are only located at the building ends only, despite the elevator being located at the intersection of 2 wings... ...always check to see how to evacuate in case of an emergency... The 1 bedroom apartment was very spacious although the HVAC unit seemed too big for the unit, leaving the apartment very cold with high humidity. There is no option to turn on the fan without the A/C... The kitchen featured a cooktop, microwave with built-in hood, full size fridge, dishwasher with dish towel, manual dishwashing liquid, sponge, as well as dishwashing powder and tablet. There were limited pots, pans, utensils, cups, and plates. The dining room featured 4 tall dining chairs. The living room featured a sofabed although there were no sheets, blankets, or pillows for the sofabed which was odd...even after checking all of the drawers in the apartment. The TV featured numerous premium Business channels in HD. The bathroom was huge, featured hand, body, and face towels. Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were all attached to the wall. Mini hand soaps and lotion were available on the counter. Water pressure was great. read more

New modern hotel located across the street from the Brea mall. The hotel is very easy to find and was right by the interstate. You will not need to drive anywhere to find great restaurants and shopping. There is also the paved trail just one block away for running and walking. Check in was easy and there is plenty of free and safe parking. The hotel has a bar and restaurant, a very nice gym, a pool, and an outdoor seating area with two large fire pits. The room itself was very spacious and clean. There is a small kitchen with a full-size fridge, as well as a dishwasher and coffee machine. There is limited glassware in the cabinets. There is a seating area with a nice couch and desk. There is also a decent size closet. The room was beautiful with modern touches and blue accents. We were very happy with our stay. read more

I stayed at the new Residence Inn Brea for 4 nights last week while my house was enjoying a little facelift (I live a stones throw away from this hotel). I found this property to be "just ok" but nothing beyond that. I rated it 4 stars because it's new, shiny and pretty but it fell short on value. The hotel rooms are nice and roomy and the shower and shower products are really nothing short of amazing! But, the property itself is located next to the freeway so it's very noisy if your room is facing the highway like mine was. I also thought the bed was pretty uncomfortable, I saw another reviewer make the same comment and it's true. I think it's just a very firm mattress and it fails in comparison to other branded hotel beds. This is also the only hotel in the market that charges for parking and as a former hotel director of sales, I think this is a major weakness and a great reason for travelers to book at their competitors. Their housekeeping team is also not very attentive, I found a cup of some sort of unidentifiable condiment in my refrigerator so although the room was very clean and pretty darn spotless, they didn't bother to open my refrigerator prior to my arrival. I do like that a key is required to keep the room lights on, very clever energy saver, kudos on that. They do have a complimentary buffet breakfast which is nice but does it go toe to toe with Chase Suite Hotel Brea? Not by a long shot! It's your typical focus service hotel branded breakfast, nothing special or unique about it. Breakfast items do not change much from day to day so if you are staying at the hotel long term, you will get tired of your morning meals very quickly. I also think the hotel bar is a great feature for the convenience of their travelers but it's pretty pricy and they have no complimentary hospitality hour. Again, a weakness in this market as their competitors offer this amenity during the week when corporate travelers are in town. Staff wise, Peter (at the bar) is awesome, and he deserves 10 stars! Big shout out to Peter! Breakfast staff did not greet any of their guests and were talking amongst themselves as they set out food items (This was their morning ritual). And although the front desk staff was very nice, the check in process was just very mechanical and their main focus was to find out where I was from and why I was staying at the hotel. I get that this information is very important for their sales team to be successful but as a guest, it did little for me, from a hospitality stand point. I'm giving RI Brea some grace (hence the 4 stars) as they have been open less than a year but they really need to step it up and get the kinks out. Wishing the Residence Inn team the best of luck. Stayed here the first week of July and it's nice and clean and in a quiet neighborhood near some businesses. The A/C worked great during the heat and parking is $10. Service was good and maybe because it's new, breakfast was relatively empty, but well stacked. With a new baby we mainly look to stay at places with kitchenettes like Residence Inn. This new one was great, the bed was comfy, the kitchen was clean and they provided a pack and play upon request. We also had our baby swim for the first time here! The pool was packed and family friendly. Because of the heat they covered up the metal railings with tarp during the day. Our little girl loved it! We did have a slight leaking issue with our fridge on the floor which we let the front desk know as we left. I would say this is a great, clean, comfy residence inn to stay at! read more

Great location away from all the hustle and bustle. Me and the bestie did a quick vacay to support my Alma mater win another championship in volleyball. It was a pretty last minute decision and we knew we didn't want to stay in LA cause it's just too chaotic and expensive. Luckily, she found this location available and within our targeted budget. There's tons of parking in the lot. Just keep in mind to only park around the building and not to the left. Which is another buildings lot. There's no valet or bellman, however, when you checkin, pull into the round about and you can use one of their carts to bring all your luggage and groceries up. We landed super late at night, so it was quiet and empty. There's a small little "convenience" store on the left of the checkin desk and a very cute and modern lobby. Our room was amazing. So spacious and clean! We had a full kitchen, dining table, living room, bedroom with 2 queens and nice sized bathroom! This would make a perfect long stay or family unit. There's complimentary continental breakfast downstairs, which also flips into a bar at night. I wasn't expecting much from the free breakfast. Maybe some donuts, cereal and toast. But there's also bagel station, daily hot foods like these egg tarts that were absolutely delicious! Lots of families and business attired people there. Right outside is also a pool and bbq pit. There's a restaurant next to the hotel, which was closed during our stay. But lots of other options a couple of blocks down where target is and a shopping mall. It was a good stay and would definitely check out other ones as well. read more

This is a great hotel at stay at especially due to the location. Across the cross from Brea Mall and other restaurants. Perfect for long term stay. We brought two small dogs. Location had a pet station on the back near the pool for our furry friends. Room was nice, quiet and comfy. There was enough room in the suite for our family. Service::: staff was friendly, professional and attentive. Cleanliness:: There were no issues with our room. Sheets and towel readily available when needed. Gym::: Located conveniently on the first floor near the pool. Comfortable workout. No issues. Breakfast:: They had waffle station, eggs, bacon, cereal, juice, pastries and etc. They have variety, so it makes staying for a week easier when having options. Continuation of review... Please find review below that was posted on 04/17/2023. Context included... "Requested turndown service twice...and the room was NOT cleaned. If requesting turndown service, ensure service is provided by hanging NOTHING on the door handle. Confusion on the hanging sign: both sides of the sign mean "do not enter the room". Sorry...used to the signs either saying "come in" or "DO NOT come in". Compensation was 2 free days of parking...........yay." Posting a new review during our visit on August 2024 because the same issue occurred AGAIN! We communicated to the front desk to request a full turndown service on a specified day during our visit. This time we ensured that the "do not disturb" sign was NOT hanging on the door when we left the room. End result? The room was not cleaned. The reason it wasn't cleaned? Every morning at 8am, the hotel manager checks every room to see if the "DND" sign is hanging in the door. If you have a sign on the door at 8am, your room will NOT be cleaned on that day. Even though, at 1130am, we notified the front desk that our room was available for cleaning without the DND sign...no services were provided. So another "lesson learned" if staying at a Marriott property, particularly the Residence Inn at Brea: if you want your room cleaned, DO NOT HANG THE DND SIGN ON YOUR DOOR THE ENTIRETY OF YOUR STAY. Won't get into specifics, but because of this mishap, encountered another incident where one of the employees was extremely unprofessional with his/her negative attitude. I'll leave it at that =T. Final compensation to make up for the flub? Monetary refund for 1 night, and 30K Marriott Bonvoy points. I've stayed at the Residence Inn in Brea on two occasions now when I'm in SoCal recruiting at Cal Poly Pomona. This property is in a great location with the Brea Mall and restaurants in walking distance. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The hotel staff tends to everything I need. I was deeply disturbed with what I saw during my visit. I personally witnessed an inappropriate racist remark from a manager to a housekeeper. It made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome as I was with my family who also understood. No one should experience that especially when working. I was really excited to stay at this new Residence Inn. Lobby is very aesthetically pleasing. Self-Parking was easy. There are charging stations here so that is a plus. Check-in was seamless. Rooms were average-sized. I did experience some difficulty getting food deliveries at this location though, not sure if it was because it was new or the address is hard to find. I received a knock on the door one morning and it was one of the construction workers who needed to install shelves. He was pretty persistent and said, they had to be done today. I was alone with my children and asked if it could be done another time. He didn't push further. When we left and came back, the shelves were installed. Laundry is coin-operated. I had exchanged quarters at the bar and they were helpful with it. I understand it's probably growing pains but overall, I feel pretty mixed and am not sure if I would stay here again. read more

OK, we just checked in for probably what is our 8th or 10th stay here and I have some things I need to say. Our first few times we stayed here, we loved it. The rooms were always really clean and the staff was always really great. But this time around and the last time we were here, the bathrooms smell like vomit. I don't know if it's a certain cleaning product that they are using or if maybe they are using dirty cloths, I'm not sure. Last time we stayed here we complained and the manager Stephanie did not seem to care at all about our problem. Today, we just checked in and a different room has the bathroom smelling the same way. They really need to get a handle on that. Then, I always request to be near an elevator. It's on my Marriott Bonvoy member file. I have not been near an elevator the past few times we have stayed here even though I asked a second time at the front desk upon check-in. Mind you, we are always checking in at an appropriate time, by 4 PM. It's not like we're checking in really late. Then today upon check-in, I asked for one near the elevator and one of the front desk girls told me that it is very close to the elevator, just two rooms away from the elevator. That was a blatant lie, and I don't appreciate being lied to you about the proximity to the elevator. There is one front desk, person who I think might be another manager, who has red hair and glasses, and she has been wonderful. Every single time we have stayed here. One time she helped us with a TV issue that we were having where it was logging us out of Netflix, every 10 or 15 minutes. She's the best. Otherwise, though, I am disappointed with the bathroom, smell and not being near an elevator, even though I asked in advance when we stay here pretty often. read more

My car got broken in to which was great after paying 20 bucks for paying each night. Apparently break ins happen all the time here because there is no cameras outside. staff was so unhelpful and rude and so was management. They did not want to help me out at all. This was a bit of a stretch from Disneyland, but well worth the stay. We were on our last leg of vacation and we stayed her on our last night stay. We had stayed at another hotel down the freeway, south, closer to Disneyland, but we should have stayed her despite being further. The rooms were spacious. A living area, dining area and full kitchen, sink, fridge, and small stove in one section. The room was separated by a door and had 2 queen sized beds and a roomy bathroom and walk in shower. They had a storage area/countertop and a walk in closet, enough to fit several large luggage. Two separate TV's in each part of the room. The beds were comfortable and the hotel had good noise protection from the nearby freeway. Overall, I would stay here again due to the all around experience. Did I mention free breakfast? read more

Have stayed here a few times now and have been pleased with every visit. Pros: - Very clean hotel and rooms. Each room has an HDTV, full kitchen with fridge, microwave, stovetop, all kitchen essentials and pullout couch. Bathroom very clean as well - Spacious lobby, lots of room to spread out. Market in lobby has plenty of snacks, drinks for you to choose from - Clean, spacious and well maintained fitness center and pool area - Nice little outside sitting area next to pool with plenty of tables, lounge chairs, fireplaces and even 2 grills if you want to cook - Parking is $10 a night. Huge plus compared to other hotels I've stayed at - Friendly staff throughout my stays - They have a restaurant/bar in the hotel lobby with delicious food and drinks. Very convenient if you don't feel like leaving the hotel. Can easily eat in the lobby or box it up and take it to your room. Menu options range from chicken wings, burgers, salads, wraps. I highly recommend the truffle fries they're delicious. I believe the restaurant hours are 5pm-10pm daily but don't quote me on that. (Shoutout to Rodney that works the bar area at night! Very friendly dude and outgoing personality. Give him a raise!) - Hotel is situated right next to the Brea Mall and many restaurants nearby. Also a Target across the street if you quickly need to grab supplies during your stay Cons: - Breakfast area could be a little bigger but they still have a lot of options (Eggs, waffle maker, cereal, toast, etc) Overall: I'm very happy whenever I stay here. It's a very clean, modern hotel with very reasonable rates. I stay here all the time when visiting Anaheim. It's only a short 15-20 minute drive down the 57 South into the Anaheim area. I often visit Disneyland, Honda Center, The Islands Golf Center, and it's an easy drive. Do yourself a favor and save a couple bucks and stay at this place. If you don't mind not being near all the resort hotels in the Disney area, this is the place to be. read more

Marla, Luis, Mario, among others, were all extremely kind, professional, accommodating, and really go above and beyond with customer service. The gym is brand new, the rooms are so clean thanks to the exceptional housekeeping, & the hotel is quiet and peaceful. Great place to stay if you're in town for Disneyland, work trips, etc. 10/10 recommend! read more

This hotel is terrible. My car got broken into and apparently, they do not have cameras at all outside and could not do anything for me. After paying 30 dollars a day for parking not making sure my car is secure is ridiculous. read more

THE STAFF IS TERRIBLE. Everyone is so rude and the management is incompetent. The guy who works the breakfast area loves to stare at you while you grab food and is so rude. He did this for the entire week I stayed here. I had so many issues and management refused to help me. DO NOT STAY HERE. read more

tried to book an ADA accessible room for my elderly mom on Christmas eve. Had to call to verify they had an accessible room. Was told there was only one room left and it was $900/night, even though it was posted at $189.00 What a shame to take advantage during the holidays. read more

Wonderful experience. We stayed only one night but we're quite impressed with the cleanliness - the hotel has only been open since last October and still smells new. I could easily see staying here for an extended period as it's ideally located near several restaurants within walking distance, and also offers a complimentary continental breakfast.
