This place is super cool and SUPER BUSY during lunch hours. If you're in the mood for a salad, go here! (never tried the bread) I made my own salad. They have so many options!! Their lettuce options are romaine, spinach, kale, iceberg, and arcadian mix. You can pick whatever lettuce you'd like, 6 additional ingredients, and you pay for protein (if you want it), then you add dressing. I had the honey dijion dressing & it was everythinggg. They chop the salad and mix your dressing in the bowl. The salads are hugeee!! They will definitely fill you up. I paid about $12 with tax. read more

This restaurant has a fantastic interior design. Very simple and relaxing. If you're searching for a quick lunch, this is the place to go. I've gone here for lunch twice now, and it's usually crowded. The service isn't great, but the food is always wonderful and fresh! The Shrimp Grain Bowl and the Nola Zeppelin were my favorites. I haven't ventured far off the menu, but the stuff I have had has been excellent. It had edamame, carrots, cucumbers, sesame seeds, cabbage, onions, wontons, grain, and shrimp, and it was not only delicious but also healthful. I tried the Shanghai Zeppelin and didn't care for it, but it tasted fine (3 stars). They also feature a huge assortment of sides, including a variety of chips and loaf bread. I've discovered that the availability of their soups varies from day to today. In addition, their bread pudding is a must-try dessert. I'll be bringing some friends with me. I went here for lunch with my coworkers and was pleasantly surprised. I'm used to salad places being from LA but I liked that you could get a salad or put it into a zeppelin. I usually avoid sandwich type places but this is something convenient, fast and fresh! It's funny, I work about 2 blocks over and have never ventured in until yesterday when my team wanted something quick. My friend ordered for me and I arrived to get a table while they were in line. As others have noted, it gets packed fast so get in. The line does move quickly but there are lots of little extras so you need time to peruse the menu. I got an Asian salad with tofu, mixed greens, wonton noodles. My friend got the same but the salad was stuffed into a gutted baguette. Think of it like an upscale stuffed sandwich with the best part of the bread, the outer crunchy layer! I liked the dressing too and am looking forward to coming back and trying more. The salads come with an option to add more protein. There are some with blue cheese too. It's way better than Subway and you do get full eating such a big salad. I've known about bread bowls for soup, but salad in bread!? Seems like an odd combo but it is so tasty! The experience is fun as you get to pick your salad base, toppings, and protein at the salad bar. Then you move to the butcher table and they chop up your salad with this really cool arched knife. The salad is scooped into a mixing bowl. Select your dressing and they'll start drizzling until you say the word. If you get a zeppelin, they'll get a freshly warmed bread ready, core out the inside, and stuff the salad in. The crunchiness of the zeppelin is super satisfying. I enjoy the steak Cobb salad. You'll get a lot more salad in a bowl, and they pack it pretty densely. The lines during lunch can be really long, but the line moves quickly. You can also order online ahead of time, but you won't get to build your bowl live - so you don't have any say in how much dressing. You'd just pick up the food at the cashier. read more

Cute place for salads here in downtown. We stopped by almost near closing on a cold evening and were the only two customers. We got the Washington salad which was fantastic - I'm a huge fan of beets and chicken in salads. Wished there was more of each though. Their cranberry poppy dressing was so good to pair with this salad. They let us try it on a piece of bread first. Highly recommend it especially if you're not that into vinaigrettes or creamier dressings like ranch. Fast. Fresh. Convenient. I've come here a couple of times for lunch, do your best to arrive BEFORE 12 because the line will easily be out the door. No worries though, they move people in and out quickly. Yummy salads, however you want them. You can customize your own or order something that's already on the menu. They also have delicious fresh bread for your order. They have probably the best salads in this part of downtown. I will absolutely return. They'll lose just one star because it gets a bit hectic in here, and also because depending on what you add one it can get a LITTLE pricey. That's all. This place is great! Inexpensive "fast" food but it's a salad! You can get it in a bowl or a zeppelin (bread roll), and the ingredients are fresh and tasty. They have lots of dressing options and you can get steak or chicken in them. I am in Dallas for a volleyball tournament and we were looking for something healthy and feeling to eat and this place fit the bill and was a great option to be found in downtown Dallas. This is a great place to come for lunch, whether you crave a sandwich or salad, meat, veggies or shrimp, spicy or mild, etc. This place seems to have all my favorite tastes covered. There can definitely be a long line at lunch time, but it's fast moving. I've come here when I visit Dallas for business and each time have been extremely satisfied with the quality, taste and price. I love how the sandwich is crispy on the outside and soft inside the bread. And, snce it's hollowed out you seem to get more sandwich filling and flavor. The servers here are great too. They are very friendly and helpful if you're not sure what you want or need suggestions for what dressing goes best with what you've ordered. I also like the drink choices. Prices for salad bowl have increased while serving sizes have decreased. Also, choices on menu have been greatly reduced. No justification for all of these changes. I realize that prices have increased but to basically reduce the serving size to barely enough for a full lunch meal is unacceptable. I won't be buying lunch there in the future. You can make any salad a Zeppelin, which goes into a delicious hollowed out French bagette. I got the buffalo chicken and it was delicious. We placed an order for delivery for our company with about 16 orders. Out of the 16, half of the orders were wrong and they shorted us 3 orders. When we called, they brought us the 3 sandwiches that were short. Except they all were still wrong. More importantly, when the sandwiches were delivered, none of them were labeled. I've been to Bread Zeppelin several times during my brief time in Dallas, and have never been disappointed. The portions are huge, and it's a lot healthier than chophouse burgers a few blocks down. Plus, you won't feel like falling asleep at your desk after! My most recent visit was with my team for Friday lunch (#fridaysarefortheboys). Miraculously, everyone on the team loves Bread Zeppelin - they are all men who look down on salads, so this place having the approval of my entire team says something. BZ is one of a kind in my books. I am a sandwich fanatic and they just take it to a new level. This is like a better, crunchier, more satisfying version of a salad wrap. You can build whatever mixture you want and they toss it into a hollowed out baguette roll which is so fresh and crisp on the outside with a bit of softness left on the inside even with all the breading removed. They don't skimp on the ingredients and mine always seem fully packed and ready to be devoured. The salad dressing options are plentiful as are the topping options. I enjoy the grilled chicken - nothing rubbery or fast food-like being used here! They use the excess bread stuffing to make their own croutons and for bread pudding - no waste! Let's start with the "Zeppelin" sandwich: I found it to be extremely underwhelming. The bread is a bit too hard for my taste. They do something cool with the "scooped out" bread-- they make (among other things) bread pudding. Even THIS wasn't great. Bread pudding is one of my favorite southern deserts, and they somehow ruined it. Now let's talk about the main reason for my 2-star rating: The service. I've been in this place twice for dinner. It was not busy at all, but the staff was extremely rude and unfriendly-- to the point of me feeling like they didn't even want me there. They need some serious training of their evening staff. This is my first time trying a Bread Zeppelin. This place has a nice modern feel. The staff was really friendly. They greeted me when I entered the restaurant, explained the menu and let me try several of the dressings (they have 20 different ones). I chose the Southwest Zeppelin with Steak and Hanger Bleu dressing. A Zeppelin is a crispy loaf of bread that has been hollowed out with chopped salad stuffed in. An interesting new way to eat a salad. It had such great flavor and I really liked the texture of the bread! Will definitely be back soon. So many hits. The food is outstanding. The staff has the Herculean task of feeding the faces of folk which they do with courtesy and efficiency. Its clean and more than just a place to be seen. I had a spicy southwest zeppelin broccoli soup and an unsweetened peach tea. All great eats. One miss. If you are running low on time dont bother. The wait is at least 15min during lunch. My new favorite sandwich place in downtown Dallas. I went during the lunch rush hour so there a line. However, the line moved fairly quickly. This was my first time here and someone in front of my told me that I'd love it. This amped up my excitement to try. Going through the menu, I couldn't decide easily at first because they all sounded so good. I ended up going with the Plymouth Rock (cranberries, beets, bleu cheese crumbles, caramelized pecans, Arcadian mix) and added avocado. I then decided to go with the Hangar Bleu dressing to enhance the Bleu cheese crumble. Btw, they will ask you when to stop on putting the dressing. So you have total control over the intake of dressing and not worry about it being completely drenched in it. That was a huge plus for me! Anyway, after taking my first bite into it....OMG! The freshness of all the ingredients down to the bread was delicious! I recommend trying it at least once. I shall be back on my next overnight here in Dallas! read more

Love these chipotle style salad places that are popping up. I opted for a salad because I think the zepplin is just too much bread/lettuce ratio for my liking. I got the pacific beach with champagne vinaigrette and thought it was a tad too bland for my liking. The great part about this place is the options are endless! I would probably pick a stronger flavored dressing next time, but the items in the pacific beach were a-ok. Love that they have a plethora of add-ins to make it as un-salady as possible. This was the most amazing lunch I've had in a long time. I tried my Tejano Cesar salad in a Zepplin, while my coworkers opted to nix the bread. I made them all so jealous as I ate my meal and literally gasped in enjoyment after each bite. I'm a big texture person, and the bread/salad combo was really balanced perfectly. The only point lost is for the service/assembly line. It was lunchtime and we waited a good 30 minutes in line before sitting down to enjoy our meal. I just feel as if their ordering process needs some tweaks to be more efficient and effective.
