For food, our table ordered some shared plates including: -Beets & Avocado (I don't eat beets nearly enough for how delicious I find them and these were served on wild rice, perfectly seasoned with tahini and a lemon vinaigrette) -za'atar focaccia (served with chili olive tapenade, the dish was very flavorful and packed a zesty punch) -lobster bucatini (served with a saffron curry butter and Calabrian chili, I really loved this pasta dish, it was distinctive and rich yet light) -Moroccan spiced chicken (paired with a tomato sauce, paneer cheese, and Romano beans, the chicken was wonderful and I've never had paneer with a protein before but I have to say I enjoyed it as everything was cooked in a very attentive and satisfying manner) I truly had no complaints dining at Sister as every dish I found something to enjoy whether it was pasta, chicken, lobster, vegetables, etc. which I found to be very impressive. My partner could not have picked a better venue for my birthday dinner. I will just say that if you are in the Dallas area, this should definitely be on your list of places to go. A really great place! A cozy and well-decorated interior, valet, and delicious food. The focaccia was insanely delicious and is a must-order. The pesto pasta was also really good. I got it without the sausage, and it still was amazing. The goat cheese was a perfect tang to pair with it. Our main waitress Taylor was very sweet. Other waiters were not the best. Forgot to bring cutlery, picked up unfinished plates, one of them literally shoved pasta plate at me. Appetizers were decent/whatever. The whole table really liked the carrots, but everything else was very unimpressive. Potatoes were starchy, octopus too acidic, focaccia too salty. It also made an impression to me that they use a whole lot of spices that dont work together/with the dish and it ends up being a huge mess, instead of something coherent. Or the other way around - some dishes were completely under-seasoned and bland. Now, while apps were just okay, the pastas were a true disaster. I had to return mine Clams Vongole, as it was genuinely uneatable. Wild boronaise - what a disappointment. The tomato sauce was incredibly bad. It tasted like they simply opened a can of crushed tomatoes and poured it straight onto the plate. Pesto fussili and White Amatriciana were also bad. Portion sizes of pastas are small. Pasta dough itself was also very mediocre. Some other stuff we got were redfish, wagyu short rib and salmon. They were all not tried properly by me, but my family said that it was whatever. I had a lot of hope for the dessert to save the experience, but it didn't. Chocolate custard cake was bad. Overall i am incredibly upset with this restaurant. Sister is becoming a Christmas tradition. I love their modern take on Italian food. For starters, everything is meant to be shared. So for foodies, come with a group and try as much as you can! Beware, there is really no coursing. If you don't want everything at once, pace your server and don't order everything at once. The service, while friendly, does feel a bit like NASCAR with constant urgency. I get it, they are popular and busy. Ahh the food! The Za'atar focaccia is a must have. We also ordered the Arugula and Fennel Salad and Beets and Avocado. If you are not a huge fan of beets, definitely go with the former. It's a ton of beets! The Veal and Pork Meatballs were also tasty and the focaccia was handy to mop up the sauce. For pasta, we shared the pesto fusilli and the white Amatriciana. Both were tasty, but I preferred the white creamy sauce of the Amertriciana over the fusilli. The Wagyu beef was incredibly tender and a fantastic finale for our flavorful meal. I treated myself on a solo date here and had such an enjoyable experience! Leslie i believe was my waitresses name and she was great for my overall experience especially with it being my 1st time. I started off with the pear drink. I saw pictures online where it was accompanied with a dried pear which mine didn't have. It tasted good, was light on the alcohol imo and wasn't unforgettable. I ordered everything from each subsection of the menu. I started off with the INCREDIBLE focaccia. This thing was humungous, the olive oil which had an incredible olive flavor to it was divine!! I ordered their home made pasta which had a creamy sauce and pancetta. It was a little lukewarm but still enjoyable. I ordered a side of the potatoes, carrots and the wagyu short rib. The short rub is sous vide and cooked medium rate. However, my waiter graciously allowed me to order to medium which was much appreciated. The dish has a lot of flavors going on in the dish but the sour apple puree hit me by surprise. It was went well with the protein and I throughly enjoyed it. The accompanying salad was a little sweet for me but was still good! I loved the carrots which I thought was going to be really sweet with the apricots but everything was perfect. The potatoes had a lot of flavor profiles going on there as well. It was a lot for one person and pretty much every dish so please don't overdue it or go with people and share haha. Lastly, I ordered the lemon panna cotta without blueberry compote and the chocolate cake with espresso ice cream. That ICE CREAM WAS AMAZINGG. It was the most balanced ice cream, delicate in flavor, creamy and added the perfect sweetness to the cake. The panna cotta was an enjoyable texture but a little bit on the lemony side for me. I do wish the lemon flavor wasn't too forward but because I'm allergic to berries I can definitely see how the compote aids with the tartness. Service was top notch and I felt welcomed by my waitress who explained the menu well, listened to my allergies and was accommodating and even gave me a nice treat at the end of my meal which I greatly appreciated. Hostesses could be a little more friendly, they did look miserable and didn't acknowledge me when I came in and told them my name and reservation time. They simply looked away as if they didn't hear me and I waited over a min for one of the hostesses to grab a menu and seat me outside. I don't need a smile but simple acknowledgment would've been nice. The inconsistency with the pear drink and the panna cotta were factors into why my review wasn't a complete 5. Aside from this, if you haven't dined here, I would recommend. I came for a solo dinner date but it's also perfect for a birthday dinner, date night, girl's dinner or whatever occasion. I waited 3 years to try it and hitting myself for not going sooner. Texture is a big thing for me and I feel like they execute that well among the experience of eating food. We arrived a bit early for our reservation and were warmly invited to grab a drink at the bar such a great start to the evening. We tried the Tequila Mockingbird and O Sole Mio. Both were delicious, but the Mockingbird was the clear winner for us. The O Sole Mio definitely brings the heat, so it's perfect if you enjoy a spicy kick! While we were waiting, we were chatting about what we ordered on a previous visit, and a waiter named Victor overheard us and jumped in with some recommendations which turned out to be fantastic. Once seated, our waitress Adrian took over, and she was absolutely phenomenal. To start, we had the charred octopus and the za'atar focaccia(the serving is huge) both were incredible. For mains, we shared the white amatriciana, which was slightly salty for our taste but still enjoyable. The true star of the night, though, was the wagyu short rib, it literally melted in our mouths. From start to finish, the service was exceptional. Everyone, from the host and bartender to the food runners and busser checked in on us, making the experience feel thoughtful and attentive. Finally, a place that lives up to the hype! We made reservations to visit Sister on a Saturday night and parked valet. We were seated near the entrance, but it was still comfortable. I tried the Spirit Animal and it's a skip for me. The bergamot liquor overpowers everything else. The Aloe-ways Love You is much better. Now on to the dinner menu. The eggplant frites was delicious, and not as greasy as other places. The broccoli is incredible and a must try dish. It's a good texture and sautéed well. The potatoes taste good, but they are dry so it's better to balance them with something like the broccoli. The wagyu short rib is a star dish. The meat was tender and, as everything else, packed with flavor. The clam vongole...I recommend staggering the dishes. Our short rib, pasta, and sides came out at the same time. That could be the reason why the pasta didn't stand out as much. The chocolate custard cake is slightly spongy, and would taste better if it were served hot. I went here with my wife for her birthday on St. Patrick's Day. The Staff and the ambience was great here. It feels like I'm in my Nonna's house. All the food was great. The only critique I have is that the Fuseli pesto pasta could use a little bit more salt and maybe some red pepper flake the pasta was supposed to come with sausage but we only got like one piece. But the hanger steak and charred broccoli and chard octopus was some of the best food I've had in a while. The cheesecake is deconstructed and has great texture. I would love more of a crunch to it. And this is a BIG BUT, please look at the menu first. A LOT of the options are very dependent on your tastes. For example, I didn't enjoy anything on the starters list. We tried the beet salad and octopus. While these are likely the best beet salad and best octopus around, it just wasn't for me. I only enjoyed one thing on the menu and it was the wagyu. From the moment that we walked in the doors of Sister, we had an amazing experience that left us planning another visit. Our waiter, Victor, warmly welcomed us and helped to explain how the family-style ordering worked. He was prompt, patient with our large party, courteous, and added to the overall wonderful and warm ambiance. We ordered a little bit of everything on the menu and got to experience SO many stand out dishes. Some of our party's favorites were the "Boaranaise", Za'atar Focaccia, Harissa Octopus, Yellowfin Tartare, and Moroccan Spiced Chicken. To finish, Victor set us up with espresso, coffee, chocolate cake, pink guava ice cream, and panna cotta. We live in West Texas for the majority of the year, so fine dining is a rare occasion. Explored this spot for my husbands early birthday dinner over the weekend! Right of the bat the staff was absolutely wonderful! Our waiter Carl (i'm so sorry if I misheard your name) was the absolute BEST! He had tons of suggestions for food and drinks and was super cautious with my brother who has a seafood allergy! We had a Za'atar Focaccia to start! That bread was light, fluffy, and mouth watering! i'll be dreaming about this bread for sure!! We also got a Cacio E Pepe Potatoes which were just as good! The parmesan aioli was the star of that dish and has wiping the plate clean! We shared a couple White Amatriciana and Wild "BOARANAISE" pastas between the table! We definitely liked the Boaranaise much more than the Amatriciana! We were slightly disappointed that the restaurant didn't offer their carbonara any longer and were recommended the Amatriciana as a close second. I would definitely stick to the Boaranise next time! Why 5 stars? Because all 3 things that I ordered were unique and awesome. --- --- --- I was heading up to Dallas to see a Mavericks game, so I scouted out the food scene relatively close to the arena. I ordered three things: Lobster and Burrata, Clam Vongole and Ricotta Cheesecake. I texted my wife an abridged review: bomb, bomb and bomb. Each dish had had something interesting and different about it. The lobster and burrata was served cold and had some random ingredients mixed into it that I never would have chosen myself, but they totally worked. The Clam Vongole has a very subtle kick to it that really worked. And the ricotta cheesecake was just perfect - better than regular cheesecake, for sure. The vibe of the place was just as great as the food. It felt much more like dining in NYC than Dallas. You can almost walk right by the place and miss it. I actually did not see it while driving by, as it's just one small door with one small sign.
