Let me just say -- I am SO glad we listened. It's about 7 miles down the road in Hamilton, a place we'd never been to and didn't know much about. The storefront is simple and unassuming, but the moment you walk in, it's warm, welcoming, and inviting -- the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable. We ordered beers, I had a premium skinny margarita with a Tajín rim (chef's kiss ), and we shared the combination fajitas. And the food... WOW. The food is freaking amazing. No really -- the food is freaking amazing. Let me say it one more time -- the food is freaking amazing. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The service was awesome -- friendly, attentive, and genuine without being over-the-top. This is not a fussy, pretentious spot -- it's just really, really good food, great drinks, and excellent service. We live in Atlanta, but honestly? I would drive out here just to eat at El Primo. Deedee provided great service and my bacon biscuit was delicious and reasonably priced. I'm sure I'll be back to try other items but I really like having the option to grab a biscuit on my way to hiking in the park without taking the time and expense to eat at the Callaway store.

It is open with a black and white floor and several food options. We stopped by this place twice when we stayed at the lodge. THe first time, we waited for the food to be prepared near the fireplace and the server was nice enough to bring out our food. The second time the lady behind the counter was not as pleasant. The food choices include pizzas, sandwiches and snacks from breakfast through dinner. We got a breakfast sandwich and a lunch sandwich and some coffees (they serve Starbucks). The location was clean and there were several tables inside or places by the fire. The prices were reasonable and the food was good. Overall, it is a good choice for a quick bite if you are hungry and at the lodge.

There are a few tables inside and some outside. The one person manning the counter was very nice. The menu is pretty basic but they have the essentials of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, wings, wraps, burgers, fries and drinks. We ordered and got our burger and french fries very quickly. The burger was good although I was not a fan of the fries. The sandwiches and burgers were $15-$20 so it is a little more expensive than local but it was good.
