I ordered an egg breakfast sandwich with home fries and an apple juice, which came out to about $25. While the food itself was a bit on the bland side and felt a little limited for the price, the ambiance really stands out. It's a great place to catch up with friends or family over brunch and enjoy a warm, welcoming vibe. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way to revisit, but I'm glad I stopped in and appreciated the atmosphere.

This is a beautiful, well-stocked bakery with a variety of goodies to take home or eat there…read more Although the prices are on higher side, I don't mind paying for "les artes blanches": A mushy croissant is a sad, sad thing. Here's where it all fell down. After placing my order, I turned my back, reading the menu. Then I heard the microwave "ding" and saw my pain au chocolat removed. Really?? (I once had a Cordon Bleu-trained pastry chef explain that croissants should never be re-heated because it ruins the scaffolding of the butter/flour feuille, or "sheets"). I then tried the various seats in the Danish-style cafe. Stool? No love: They're metal and lack cushions. Chairs at the tables were also metal. I settled in an honest-to-God church pew: The kind the Puritans used, to reflect upon their sins. Do yourself a favor and get your treats to go.

Such a great, quaint, charming bakery/cafe. There's no printed menu because she changes it daily,…read moreso just order from the chalkboard menu. My wife loved the Muffuletta and my Apple Pie Waffle was delicious! There's a story behind everything. The apples come from her daughter's orchard where no sprays are used. We wanted to buy everything but I got the raspberry bars and the monkey bread! The raspberry bars were SO GOOD that after I tried it I had to buy more! I also got the monkey bread and it was better than I hoped! Monkey bread and cinnamon rolls are one of the things I miss most being gf so being able to enjoy that again made my day... and my week!!! I couldn't recommend a place anymore. The customer service was amazing, and of course the food! The woman at the counter (I assume Suzie) was so kind and helpful, you could really tell she loves what she does and loves helping people be able to enjoy food again! Another really important thing to add was her pricing! I'm so used to being up charged so much for gluten free food and she kept everything as affordable as possible which I really appreciated! 1000000/10!!! This bakery alone makes me consider moving to Geneseo!! lol

A little slice of espresso heaven in Alden? Believe it…read more I moved to Alden fully expecting to spend my mornings making coffee pilgrimages to Williamsville, Hamburg, or--if things got really desperate--Buffalo. Because let's face it: small towns are adorable, but they're not exactly known for serving up killer espresso drinks that don't taste like regret and cardboard. Enter Alden Bakery and Cafe, the local caffeine oasis that not only exceeded my expectations--it obliterated them with one perfect iced breve latte. And when I say perfect, I mean every single time. I don't have to explain what a breve is. I don't get judgmental looks like I just asked for a cheeseburger taco in a sourdough cup. They just make it--creamy, bold, beautiful--and I sip it like a queen. My friend from Jacksonville, FL visited and I took her here. She went back to her big ol' city and texted me, genuinely annoyed to wake up in a place that didn't have this café. Big city, no Alden Bakery. Tragic. As for the baked goods--listen, I'm not your sugar fairy. I've tried a few things and they seemed lovely, but I'm not a sweets person. What I can vouch for are the breakfast sandwiches and bagels. Absolute yes. 10/10 would eat in my car again while pretending I'm not still in my pajamas. Support local. Sip happy. Bless this little caffeine kingdom.

This is an establishment where you order and pay at the counter, then are served if you choose to dine-in. It definitely has a small town diner vibe where you know they have their daily regulars. They have a whole case of homemade baked goods, a small breakfast and lunch menu, and a number of coffee options. I got a 16oz vanilla raspberry iced latte, a blueberry muffin, and a pumpkin shaped sugar cookie and paid $14 and some change. Everything was delicious. The service I got was great. I have no complaints. Stop in if you're in the Alden area.
