Challenging escape room that we went to on a whim. We were challenged and SO. CLOSE. The hostess was very friendly and gave great clues.

Our kids had never done an escape room so all was new on our visit, and it was done well. The place is not polished and shiny, it's eclectic but we liked that - and the service was great - we could have used a little more coaching as to what to look for initially- I was glad I'd done one escape room in my past to draw on- but the kids are begging to return ! read more

Before I start, SHOUT OUT TO VIVIENNE. She's literally so funny and so great as a game-master. I've done plenty of escape rooms and this is the best one I ever experienced. There were so many different themes and each themed room had other rooms to solve. Our first one we did, we were handcuffed to each other members in the group (thank god it was just my friends and I) and it was SO funny. Each room and theme had a very creative element to it. We even had to do things BEFORE starting and entering our room. If i had a million dollars, I would book a room again (we literally booked another one after our first.. so in total we did TWO games). All the staff was so sweet and each staff who was in charge of your room dressed in theme to the game which was so great because who doesn't love a costume party. First time doing an Escape room, we escaped !! . We did the illusion room and came here for my friends birthday We had a great time and Becca was an awesome guide!! She rocks, super friendly and was kind enough to take pictures for us and recap our time in the room as when your in a group you don't really see how everything was solved. Place is smaller, but we did a boys soccer team outing here and they had a ton of fun. We chose the zombie one because that one can fit the most people. The staff was great, all very kind and fun. My husband and I often do escape rooms and dinner as a way to go out on a date and reconnect. We work awesome as a team in these rooms, often better than in a huge group. So we are always up for a challenge but usually shock the hosts at how well we do! We had a baby in May and it was our first time back to escape rooms when we found the Royal Oak location of Breakout. Everyone was super friendly and explained each room to us to find what was our best fit. They spoiled our then 4 month old, and had no problem with him joining us in the room. We ended up picking the Christmas room since we were told people come from all over for that very room. This room was jam packed and unless you are on your A game, it would help to have more than 2 people. We were a bit too rusty for this room, but loved all the features and that there were many puzzles and it wasn't linear. They go all out on the decorations, too, which is my favorite part of every escape room. read more

We had a blast escaping the Christmas Room! The puzzles were tough and fun. The Breakout! team did a great job of sending in small clues to help push us in the right direction when we needed it - but no spoon feeding here. We earned our way out!! We were skeptical about the themed room. It could have been very cheesy but this one was extremely well done. Thoughtful themed challenges, fun Christmas movie and song references. It made you think! As much fun as we had in the room, I've got to give it up to the staff who made the whole experience awesome. We were a last minute reservation and they welcomed us in, gave us tons of theme options, and had us laughing and excited right away. After we made it out, they celebrated with us and talked about how we did, where we were hung up, how well we sang...it was a blast and we'll be going again. read more

It was a fun experience over all. It was 4 of us we did the zombies roadhouse one. The guy that works there was very rude to be honest. He over heard me say "we're her to f**k s**t up" jokingly as if we're going to escape the room. And he immediately starting acting weird towards us and making remarks like " I know you guys won't make it I noticed some things when you came in" He was being very rude and unfair with us I feel. We only had an hour and it was 4 people when it's supposed to be 6. At some point he barged In, in the middle of the game and was like okay that's it I'm gonna help you guys out as if we seemed slow or something. Good stuff: Unique rooms, variety of puzzles, energetic staff Bad stuff: Can only accept 1 credit card for payment (can also split if one person pays cash and the other pays credit card) I've been here twice (each time with a group of 4 people) and had an awesome time. Angel explained the rooms thoroughly and was attentive to providing clues whenever we got stuck. The two rooms I escaped were NutCracking the Case and Chamber of Illusions. I will definitely come back to try the other rooms. Would recommend to friends who enjoy a challenge. The limit of one credit card for payment isn't a dealbreaker for me since most of my friends use Venmo, but I thought it'd be helpful for others to know. read more

Escape room with eight 10 and 11 year old girls? Brilliant idea, right? Turns out it was a fantastic experience for all of us, including me, the one adult in the room! We almost made it out, just about 3 clues shy of the exit. This is my second time in an escape room -- I think I am hooked. Our hostess/guide, Angel, was great. Her assistance and delivery of clues kept the girls moving, which really kept them thinking and problem solving. The room we were in was the elf experience, which was great for kids this age. I highly recommend it if you're bringing multiple kids. It's probably a great room to intro for adults as well, as the sequence of clues is pretty linear. This location has a few other room options with different, more adult themes. I'm looking forward to going back with an older crowd, hoping to score a win! Had so much fun at this location we went here for my wife's birthday. The ladies that worked there were very detailed and explained how to play with clear instructions. My friends and I did the ringmaster room at first we were doing good with finding clues and solving puzzles but then got a bit challenging as time went on. This place is great! We had a group of four and did their Christmas themed room. Right from the beginning Angel was enthusiastic and friendly. She definitely knows how to get people excited to play! The room was very immersive, right down to the "outside" portion at the North Pole being super cold with snow falling. Rather than speaking to you to provide guidance, they give info in a way that fits into the scene. We got letters in the mailbox outside the front door. There were quite a few puzzles; Everyone on our team was constantly working on something. Some clues were more challenging than others. One of the clues involved a picture, and they put a picture of us taken before we started into the room! The personalization was really cool. There were several references to A Christmas Story, which we also loved! After we finished the room, we talked with a couple other staff members who were also great. Overall, we were very happy and will definitely be back! Update: We went back and did another room, Zombie Roadhouse. Connor (I hope I have that right, I forgot to note his name when he introduced himself) worked with us this time, and he was awesome as well! The room was very complex and challenging, with a lot of different types of puzzles. Our group of 8 was kept busy the whole time. We all had a ton of fun! After we finished, Connor talked to us about the things that we had struggled with and answered our questions. We talked with the staff some more. They're all such nice people. They look for feedback on the rooms, and just like to chat. We have 3 more rooms to try here, and we will be doing them all! :) read more

My family and I tried this escape room last night. It was our first time doing one of these. Omg it was so much fun. It was challenging but everyone was able to take part . My youngest son of 6 years old helped find things, my 12 year old loved it and was surprisingly good at it. We all had such a good time working together. We had a group of ten people that enjoyed unscrambling the clues, unfortunately we were setup not to escape. One of the clues given was incorrect which ultimately had us unable to solve two other portions of the game. This became disheartening but all in all was a good time. read more

Booked an event room for my daughter's 12th bday here last week. Maria was very helpful with helping me book the room and explaining the time slots. The day came and our time was set for 5:15. We came in half hour early and asked Jasmine if I could set the room up and lay down the food and cake. She agreed to it but told me I cant be in the room after doing all of that and that I have to wait until 5:15 to come back up. I had 5 children with me at that time and I did. I went back to the car and came up about 10 mins because guest was starting to arrive and I didnt want them waiting outside. I asked Jasmine if we can just to ahead and take our seats and wait until our time starts and she told me she is not supposed to but she will allow me. 10 mins before 5:15 and I wasn't supposed to. So I said thank you. 5:16 came by and no one came in the room so I went outside and asked when can we start. Jasmine then explained to me that i can start whenever and that the briefing doesnt start until 5:45. Mind you she did not explain all of this before we started. I wouldve just been sitting there waiting for them until they say something to me if I wouldnt have said something. So anyway we started serving food. I asked if I could borrow the hand sanitizer as there was 2 in the front so the kids can use it before eating, she then proceeds to tell me that i am not allowed to take it to the room that the kids need to come to the front desk to use it. I told her i'd put it back once we are done and that there was another one there. She just gave me the hardest time that day. I am unsure why. I paid almost $500 to book the place and for the kids to play. She couldve been more helpful but she wasnt. She made us feel like we were burdening her. Just not a nice experience at all. They really streamlined the registration process and they even started the game a little late to accommodate part of our group that went to the wrong place.
